Nigga, I watched a video recently with two ~30 old women being asked what is one wardrobe item every man needs to have and they said a black blazer and a nice shirt. Fashion standards are that low, if you have chinos, a nice shirts and non-sneakers you’re overdressed compared to 99% of men out there.

It’s hard to tell, but either you aren’t actually interested in fashion and wanted to look good for other people, or you are interested in fashion but are a total noob and somehow decided to just follow everyone’s advice to a tee without actually figuring if it’s a good decision on your own.
Just go buy clothes that you like and wear them. Don’t try too hard with matching colors and minor details, because shit like that will look goofy unless you know what you’re doing.
