When was the last time you got brandmogged? Me: just a few days ago.

>be me
>Westerner living in rural Japan
>at the local grocery store stocking up before New Year
>looking at olive oil
>youngish (late 20s/early 30s) couple walks past behind me
>turn to look
>guy is wearing a grey hoodie and sweats, nothing special
>woman is wearing a puffy red nylon jacket
>"Wait a minute…"
>get closer to them
>it’s Moncler
>meanwhile I’m sitting there in a hecking North Face

I went straight to the checkout counter and then home. I forgot to buy milk.

Dude its Japan. Everyone wears designer. Its rare to see a girl without Kate Spade, Gucci or Louis Vuitton nowdays.
Most just get it for the image, if you look good you’ll pull anyway.
    t. Have a 2万円 suit that gets me girls.

A 4000 yen oakly top also gets me girls when paired with my gym clothes and a baseball cap though. Dont think about what other people are wearing

Think of them like the European autistic cunts who would only flirt back with you if you knew them before hand or in their friend circle already.
            Like that

i’ve never been brand mogged except for this pair of Dickies i now own. brands are either your thing, or nothing. looks to me like you’ve got a thing.

normal for japan. Especially tokyo. Even Misch Mash handbags are faux leather cost 9,000 Y which is obscene for what they are.
To be fair, I kind of respect it. The women there have tougher feet than I do though. I can’t run around in heels like they do non-stop. I don’t have the balance.

    >brand mogged
Its ok, there is a universal constant for this.
[For every unit person A is brand-mogged by person B, person B is brain-mogged by person A by the equal amount]
Im sure most posters here already know about things like fill power and down ratios, but seriously. Every time I see someone wearing a Moncler puffer I just laugh to myself.

I just randomly clicked on this board and this is the first thread I saw. Thank God I don’t walk around with this mentality. What a waste of time and energy.

Nylon costs 1 dollar 20 cents per meter. It’s impossible to sour grape over a coat made from it because nylon "grapes" are not out of anyone’s proverbial reach financially like the grapes that the fox can’t taste in the story.
The only thing that is possible to sour grape over in clothing is expensive materials, and saying they are "nothing special" compared to cotton or synthetics without ever having worn them, because some people are priced out of feeling those materials on their skin, and some are not.

Of course there’s also people who will arrogantly claim that yes you can pay real gold prices for a fake gold ring in the fashion world, but those people have their own proverb. There’s a sucker born every minute.

I’ve been here on and off for years, I’m still not sure if posts like OP are made in jest or not.
This whole board has some of the worst fashion advice imaginable.

      • Anonymous says:

That’s because people with good fashion taste don’t ask LULZ for advice. Blind leading the blind and all that.

        • Anonymous says:

That goes for pretty much every board. I’m a /p/ regular and if you read most posts there, everyone is super confident in giving out advice like they’re seasoned professionals, then you look at the recent post threads and it’s just one thoughtless snapshit after another.

          • Anonymous says:

I will say while you’re here that getting fit is the actual way to get /fashion/, it will help a lot more than any clothes.

          • Anonymous says:

If you’re talking about WAYWT, they’re pretty much an island of their own. That said, this board is garbage because everyone good at fashion who contributes left prior to 2015. I’ve seen a very small handful of good posters here and there usually in recent cops threads or the very rare runway thread. /p/ is a relatively safe board in terms of avoiding low quality posters because the cost of entry is so high. On /fashion/, any zoomer can go to a thrift store, buy an entire outfit for less than $5, then come here and shitpost about it.

          • Anonymous says:

Did the good posters go to another forum? I’ve been looking for a place to discuss fashion that isn’t a dumpster fire like this board is for years, haven’t been able to find one

          • Anonymous says:

Not really, most people grew up and left. The few who are still involved are usually in private Facebook groups or group chats, or private Discord servers. I’m not going to claim that I’m an expert or amazing poster, however the general feeling I get when I try to make a well thought out and informative post is that it’s not really worth it because it, or the subject I’m talking about, is lost on or not of interest to the average person browsing /fashion/. I can only imagine it’s the same for many of those old school contributors.

          • Anonymous says:

this. ill be in the middle of typing out a long response, when i remember that its just not worth it

          • Anonymous says:

me too. you are writing up an essay and somebody just shitsposts garbage not even reading it in full. the one you comment on wont read it probably. and also there are so many mentally ill tripfags and unnecessary hatred. years ago i posted now im just lurking. but i am not a fashion expert. i learned what i needed to learn and becoming more knowledgeable is hardly possible (on fa) and worth it. same with fit but on fit people arent so angry on average.

Mostly private discords I’d say, the one I know that has pretty good community is Bliss Foster’s patreon discord (but it’s paid..)

    Lmao dude.

    GOLD STAR.

    "Brandmogged" congrats, you’re rather pathetic.

This guy be one of those cheap ass looking crude people who walks around with brands plastered all over them thinking how much better and richer they are than people.

    >is a weeb too

A boomer wearing a very nice rolex sub complimented me on my tissell explorer "homage" not too long ago. Tbf it looks good and has a nice movement for a ~$250 watch, but it’s still a fugazi

this is a wretched attempt at /fashion/ centric FUD
FUD means Fear Doubt and Uncertainty
OP wants you full of fear doubt and uncertainty because OP is literally evil
