    He says: “What?? You’re still going to wear suits in the winter? That’s too cold”
    I says: “I will just wear an overcoat with them”
    He says: “What’s the point? I thought you wear a suit so people can see it!”

    The point is that you can stay warm with a garment that still shows some of the suit and matches the formality, you can always take the coat off indoors.

    At this point 99% of people will trade aesthetics for convenience and comfort, so suits and coats are destined to die. Plus, these things aren’t getting any cheaper, especially these days.

      oh i am sorry, why are they still alive, maybe because you can vary the fabrics and use other parts of your wardrobe with them?

    Tbh only duffle coats make sense because they have hoods. Are you gonna wear a beanie with a formal coat in winter? That’s why I find coats to be the least practical garments. They are heavy but offer neither protection to your neck nor head.
