I was in a situation where I wanted to work, but boomer mindset like this made it is nearly impossible to get my first job. I swear I applied to over 100 places just to get my first job at a crappy McDonalds.

Also this guy is a piece of shit. It should take more than two weeks to train somebody, and if the manager does not like what you do it is his job to tell you how to do your job better or sack you.
He just wants a perfect employee without having to do any training on his part, and its a fucking retail job. How hard can it be to greet customers, restock merchandise, check out customers, and push promotions to customers. Its not hard and he is just a greedy israelite.

I've worked shitty retail jobs and they hire people that are high during interviews, a clean uni student or fresh grad is an easy hire.

It's funny I had years working in other jobs like food service and a retailer rejected me because I had no retail experience even though most of the same service and inventory skills applied.
Monkey could do the job if it knew how to read.

At the same time it is actually surprising how many people actually can't do retail or fast food properly at all. And these people NEVER get fired as long as they keep showing up. These managers take it way too seriously but they hire the most braindead idiots anyways.

This is just a symptom of being low IQ. The guy is obviously stupid being that he is working retail while also defending the job as not being "simple." He lacks theory of mind and so it pisses him off when he encounters someone who lacks knowledge he possesses. He thinks "I know this so everyone else knows this as well! What is wrong with you? Why are you inconveniencing me by pretending to not know?" He views it as a slight against him because he genuinely can't imagine a situation where your experience and knowledge are different than his.

Join a trade. Go to a college or union and try to land an apprenticeship. You will build up your skills, they will hire because not a lot of men are working these jobs anymore and you will actually be doing something of significance unlike homosexuals who work retail. You will make way more money, have higher prospects for a career and will just have a better career in general. Fuck these retail fags acting like they are working hard jobs that require lots of skill and aptitude lmao, this dude is acting like it would be hard to train someone to stock shelves, take inventory and work a cash register. Sounds like he thinks hes the shit because he is a hiring manager at sport check but really this dude makes just above minimum wage and is probably quite retarded.

It doesn't matter (yet). I'm speaking in terms of actual jobs not minimum wage retail garbage. You shouldn't be wasting your time with retailshit jobs anyway so who cares who they will or won't hire? You're still young enough where if you get back in school you should be done by 26 at the latest, at which point you can start working an entry level professional job like any other 22-23 year old and it won't be weird. Just take a deep breath, think for a short while about what you might like to do with your life get started on that thing. Start now though, because if you try to do this shit at 30+ then it actually will be a problem. Do not focus on landing some bullshit service job. No future employer will ever care that you did that work, you won't save up any meaningful amount of money and you will learn nothing that you can take to any real job. Mr. Retail Manager will still probably be doing that same shitty job 20 years from now. Only boomer scumbags who are trying to trick you into wasting years of your life shill the retailpill. Instead, focus on learning a skill as quickly as possible so you can get started on a real career. Do or load up on classes in some non meme STEM major at your local uni so you can be done by 25.
      >BUT MUH RESUME GAP
There is no gap on your resume unless you put it there for some retarded reason. Just say you were working at a store that closed, or running a small business for like two years after high school, or teaching English in Cambodia etc. No one will ever check or give a shit.

If you're near a major city in your country, look up non-profit orgs for work. They're always in need for IT staff. Granted, you're going to get paid well below market value but its something.

          Anonymous

Staffing agencies help a lot. Just Google "IT staffing agencies" and submit a resume to all of them (Ranstad, Robert Half, Adecco etc, there are like 20+ out there). A little bit of resume finessing (you were doing IT consulting, you were teaching English in Botswana, you were helping your dad run the family business etc, any lie will do) will help. You can also change careers to something tangentially related to IT that requires a bachelors (teaching, for instance). There's a huge shortage of teachers right now. Grad school is also an option if you don't mind blowing more cash. The fact that you have a degree makes it 10x less over for you than a true 30+ NEET who doesn't have anything. It's not about the knowledge, it's just so much easier to fraud as a "normal" person if you have any sort of degree.

          >what exactly?
It doesn't even matter so much, it just helps establish you as part of the "higher" class of citizen that doesn't have to do retail wagie work. Every school has an internship office or a career center. Pick any major, start taking classes and use the school to set you up with some bullshit internship doing literally fucking anything in an office. When you graduate that place or somewhere similar will hire you. That's what the average normie does. I'm not saying it's super fun or exciting but that's the path to economic normiedom. Pick some shit like nursing or accounting where it's 100% clear what job you're supposed to be doing after graduation and the school should be able to help you get set up.

No, it's absolutely fine to be 21/22 without work experience looking for an entry-level job.
    1. these jobs are easy as fuck (although often tiring and potentially stressful), you will immediately realise that most the people working around you, and even above you, are borderline-retarded.
    2. you can lie on your CV. they rarely check. if you have a friend, get them to fake answer. or say they will only respond via email, or just say the place closed down or your old boss left the business.
    3. if you don't want to lie about that. Just make up some other bullshit. You have been dealing with the loss of a loved one. You had a serious injury. You have been focusing on school, sports, etc.

The simple fact is. As long as you don't sperg out, most places will be keen as fuck to hire you.

You can literally have gpt-4 write you a resume and job history.

This. Any job that doesn't provide a path for advancement to a proper career is a waste of time. A 20 year cashier and a 20 year NEET who's suddenly forced to work are in the exact same position in life. Both have no money, no social standing, no romantic appeal to the opposite sex, no qualifications or experience that would allow them to get a better job etc. It's pure wasted time. Never work retail past 18 unless you're also learning a (real) skill on the side and just need a bit of survival money. You can go and get pretty easy quals for things like truck driving. If you aren't a tard and used your inheritence to buy a home outright and set up a retirement fund, you can live pretty easy with a few quals and low status part time jobs. Get a forklift qual and do casual work there, drive uber eats some nights. You'll be fine.

Why do poor people feel entitled to success? This post is completely reasonable. Literally the only reason you'd be upset about this is if you're also a disgusting poor.

I got my first job at 30. This is incel bait. Just as the hiring manager says he decides if hes hiring someone in 20 seconds.

If you are too shit to make a good impression work on developing confidence in yourself and reduce social anxiety.

There has been several people in this thread that have told you to lie on your resume. Why are you ignoring them? It's not illegal or immoral. Just do it. Unless your just trying to convince yourself that it's impossible to get a job. If that the case, then be honest with yourself that you just don't want to work.

We are always desperate for people who meet three conditions
Semi-punctual (like 5 minutes late frequently, but not half an hour plus late most of the time)
Semi-reliable (not sick too often, has decent availability)
Average intelligence - hell, even low intelligence. Being able to read already puts you ahead of half the staff.

Most zoomers I work with can't meet the first two, and the ESL's are mostly borderline retarded.

It makes sense if you assume the guy is a retard, and all the people he deals with are retards.
No mf with a degree worth anything is applying for some shitty retail wageslave position. All the 21yos he deals with are ex-cons and total burnouts.
He thinks he's the shit bc he's the king of retards.

We have plenty of Uni students and people who work there as a second job. One thing I find a little questionable is the notion that he is a hiring manager IN a store. H.R. fags usually work out of a central office and all have degrees.
Also we don't hire ex-cons. Some places might, but that's a big no no.

Some wagies here live in white towns where theres a short supply of bodies. You and I live near mexicans. I have seen companies in texas interview groups of 30+ at a time. 1 group in the morning, another in the afternoon, then another a bit later. 3 packed interview days per week. This is why we cant get hired. There supply of labor favors the small elite class. They cant waste the time and gas money of thousands of people every month because they can.

Is it over for me as a 22 year old NEET? What do I do now?

At the ShopRite near by my house there's a guy who's limps while walking and he's a cashier. Working retail isn't some kind of achievement, let alone being a manager at a minimum wage job, I'd say being a manager is cuck behavior because you're doing extra work for a 2 dollar increase. Ooooo, so rich.

I'm 27 years old and just got hired by mcdonalds, I have never worked in a kitchen or the service industry before either. My life is just starting. 22 year old doomers btfo.

I don't understand how people like OP's pic can just go through like without criticizing themselves. How can he genuinely believe that he is good at his job when he admits to hiring people who lack basic life skills or the ability to work the job. His function at this business is to hire people that are able to do the job, and he just admits that he is incapable of doing this without resorting to cargo-cult rules. Why does he even interview people if the interview is pointless and can't prevent incompetent people from getting hired?

He interviews a 21 year old with no experience. He hires them. They can not do the job. This is his fault, because he hired them. It is his job to only hire people that can do the job. How does he not see this?

Look for places with help wanted signs. Ask one of the workers on shift. Sometimes companies have their own internal hiring websites or forms to fill out. Don't rely on shit like indeed.com or wherever you are searching online.

I recently got a job doing data entry at a hospital, literal brain dead job. My supervisor went on a rant upon meeting me saying he'd never hire someone who graduated college in the past few years because they only learned through online school, they don't know how to socialize with people, and they cheated their way through school. I spent 1 year job searching before getting this job because I fit that exact criteria, they just really don't want to hire young people.

Got my first job at 24. I lied on the resume/app and said I had been "self employed" as an odd jobs man and listed all the various things I supposedly do, which included shoveling snow, mowing lawns, moving and assembling furniture, home repairs, taking care of pets, etc. These were all things I did once or twice for family and neighbors (and I hadn't even actually been paid in half the cases) so I was able to talk about it during the interview, but I just beefed it up and made it seem like it was a lot more than it really was. I got the shitty retail job and I've been there for 5 years now and slowly moving up in the ranks. Keep in mind that for these types of entry level jobs nobody is actually going to check the references you list, that's only for like big time corporate jobs where you actually need to verify who you are and what you've done. They don't care that much if you're just trying to flip burgers or stock shelves. Just beef yourself up and make it sound like you stay active and you'll be fine.

It's brutal. The worst part is I bet once you get the job you realise how easy it was to begin with. It's pretty sad all things considered that they have to do these arbitrary tests in order to filter and filter down people until the last 1 or 2.

    Ridiculous.

That manager is a pretentious homosexual. What kind of loser would write 20 paragraphs on reddit about how much of a homosexual he is instead of getting a better job than a "manager at supermarket". He probably hates all those uni students for having better prospects in life than he ever will.

No, try mom & pop joints, indian run liquor stores, shit like that. I have a buddy who lives with his parents, has no drivers license, and didn't start actually looking for a job until he was almost 27. He works at a small town general store now and his life has improved dramatically from it. Not just from the financial aspect (not that it's much). He's unlocked a lot of independence he didn't know he could have. Just keep trying OP. You can even make up/embellish small things for your resume. Volunteer work, under the table stuff. It all counts. You'll find something, bud. Don't worry. A lot of places are desperate for workers right now. (Some) Casinos, movie theaters, and food service will accept anyone with a pulse too.

      >Like it takes more than 10 fucking minutes to explain how a fucking cashing register works.
What scared me was the amount of uni students I worked with who couldn't handle even basic jobs like cashier. And people wonder why every institution is crumbling. There wasn't even a pattern - you hire some guy who is doing a faggy liberal arts degree and he picks up everything really easy, but you hire an Asian studying engineering and counting out change is too complex for them. They really need to re-think the higher education scam and invest way more in on the job training for roles, because too many tards simply buy a degree and end up in jobs they suck at and it flows on to the rest of society.

Also another thing I learned was that you are either Chad or you are not. I worked with one young ethnic kid who was tall and good looking. He could do everything in the store effortlessly. Was never sick, always worked hard. He never went to uni bur spent about a year looking for a higher paying job. Ended up doing some construction management apprenriceship. Earns huges amount of money, which of course is all saved for a house deposit and wedding to stacy. Meanwhile I recently worked with a nerdy guy who has had to come back after getting sacked from his proper job, despite having a masters and has tons of credit card debt. He's useless at work, and nobody is surprised at all to hear his life is a mess. He even got delisted from uber eats. Some people can try to do all the right things and they will fail regardless, because they're just natural born failures.

It's the oppurtunity it brings to be honest. With continuous source of revenue you can do many things. Save up, afford going out with others. Not even the financial aspect also the social aspect. You can make friends which in turn could help you long-term.
