Im terrified of that website because they have cool $1000 jackets allegedly in my size but they don’t actually say the length of the jacket. (Im normally a tall).

Where can I get a legit 2xlt jacket? One that has 35 inch sleeves or longer please.

Where do people who look like Fetterman buy their leather? I used to get Dillard’s Roundtree and York but this years stuff is cheap shiny lambskin and not pebbled cowhide like before.

Aero leather, they will make you a jacket to your specifications rather than trying to fit you into one they have on the shelf. Plus they’re the best.

previously owned picrel (not my photo). got it in the skintight ramones fit so it was useless in any weather. literally gave it away. 1300cad jacket just gave it away. boy i’m smart sometimes. now have a similar one but a looser fit i can have a sweater under.
also have my dad’s old school bomber jacket. 90s so it’s very relaxed fit. works great for late night slurpee runs.

Recently got the exact style of Schott jacket Kurt Russell wears in The Thing. Cringe or no

What’s up with all those grandpa jackets itt? you don’t really go around wearing jackets for +60 year old men don’t you?

i liked the body length but the common problem with schott is the belly width and that was the same problem i had. they are really made for "apple" shaped men. if i could find a vintage example in decent condition i would grab it in a heart beat.
        loved the horsehide.

Yeah, goat suede with a light wax finish.
Its really nice, but I got a lot more wear out of it when I worked in fashion than now that I’m in tech-adjacent. Its too much for basically any daytime activity.

If that jacket had a solid black lining instead of ugly plaid, and no logo.

        >ugly plaid
        Goddammit Igor get some taste

I don’t like the fabric cuffs on leather jackets. Makes an otherwise decent looking leather jacket look cheaper I dunno, I don’t want those cuffs on my leather jacket

  3. Anonymous says:

I like that polo maxwell leather jacket but the lining is ugly plaid blue-green lining. Also, don’t want the polo logo on my leather jacket.

I recently got this Schott. Still haven’t worn it. The first pair came in all sorts of hecked up, but they sent me a return label and replaced it with express shipping. Second one is decent. Honestly not too impressed, considering all the shilling I’ve seen for Schott, but it’s still ok I guess.

Managed to thrift this Montgomery for 110€.
Leather shell, lining is the nicest faux fur I have ever felt. Really pleasant even directly on skin.

      (Me)

bro, i have been lurking this board for hecking years.
i know the archetype of sperg that wants a leather jacket because i used to be one.
none of you guys ever posts a pic making a leather jacket work.
      leather jackets are objectively difficult.
you dumb cunts always take our warnings as
      >omg this guy knows i will slay pussy if i get the jacket and he just doesn’t want me to slay!
      or something…
nah, i’d be happy to see you wearing one and looking good.

      >none of you guys ever posts a pic making a leather jacket work.
I posted like 4 fits with the jacket that I thought were okay. Picrel.

I’m trying to remind myself why I bought a schott instead of an aero. I think it was having to deal with cunt customs. You can’t get aero jackets from within the EU yeah?

wtf man!? It’s one thing to wear that jacket with these pants and having that hair. All fine, I can live with that. But why the heck do you wear those shoes with it?

          • Anonymous says:

What what? The shoes, why these shoes with all that other stuff. Completely ruining whatever you were going for.

          • Anonymous says:

oh yea theyre the only leather shoes i have, rly shoulve been wearing combat boots but i dont own a pair 🙁

          • Anonymous says:

You need a pair for that outfit. People here call you a gay, but you need balls to wear this outfit. In contrast to the countless pretentious garbage fits here, yours in combination with your hair and your looks suits you. It doesn’t look forced, it’s not using some gay oversized pullovers or ugly shoes with thick soles. WAYWT is a joke. I go there for laughs. Your outfit is certainly not normal, but it’s fitting, except for the shoes.

Where can I get a jacket similar to this that isn’t crazy expensive? Pic related is $1800

Second hand. Look for long shearling jackets or short shearling coats.

      found this for really cheap

Might be decent for an oversized fit. You also need to put this through two cycles of leather care before anyone can say something specific.

I like quite a bit the one Alan Jackson wears in the video of the song Country boy. But I’ve been looking all around the internet and it seems to be pretty uncommon. Are there names for specific types of leather jackets?

  9. Anonymous says:

I like a nice black car coat leather jacket. Pic related kind of of looks like a hybrid between a bomber and a car coat, which is even better.

Can anyone tell me why sleeves hike up and expose my wrists/arms when I extend my arms forward? What kind of cut prevents a jacket from doing this?

    • Anonymous says:

It’s gonna be great, I bought a used one and I like it so much I’m getting ready to put in an order for a custom build then probably sell this one once the new one arrives. The horsehide is super thick and heavy so keep that in mind if that’s what you were thinking about getting.

        • Anonymous says:

What did you get? I went with the half belt deluxe in brown fqhh. Everyone is really surprised by how heavy it is when I have them pick it up. I’ll get a picture when I get home.

  10. Anonymous says:

You guys… thinking of pulling the trigger on an aero jacket in either cordovan or cherry cxl fqhh – is there any chance I’m a bad enough dude to pull it off? I think Cordovan is definetly doable – it’s basically an oxblood or burgundy color – less sure on cherry.

I can pull off a black cafe racer just fine, wear a schott daily. Is this overkill? Thinking I’d just wear it with black jeans and a white t-shirt.

Pic is some guy in Cordovan CXL fqhh.

found this from a thrift store for 30. Usually wouldn’t pay that much for so used stuff but it fitted perfectly and the girl I was there with was hyped about it when I tried it on. It’s harley davidson branded, made in USA.

going to make some MC people seethe and use it while riding my 90s mountain bike

I’ve wanted this nigga for hecking years, it only makes sense to wear a leather jacket if you’re a motorcycle rider. unfortunately they plastered the name across the back like stupids, so I’ll stick to my textile jacket until they start acting right

want to grab my first ‘keep forever’ type jacket, where can i get a solid boxy fit with some pockets? like a wider utility feel

  14. Anonymous says:

I have a motorcycle jacket but want a regular one for around town wear, any recommendations? Been thinking about checking pawn shops or other type stores but haven’t yet

  15. Anonymous says:

Snagged this vintage buffalo leather jacket. Seam on the underarm lining is bust but I’ll ask my tailor if he can fix it or if replacing it entirely is a better idea. I’ll also have it professionally cleaned.

Once all of that is done, I just need to apply some sort of conditioner once a month right?
I use Saphir wax polish for my boots, guess I can just go with their lotion for my jacket too?

  16. Anonymous says:

I thrifted a suede one with the brand stoffa. I happened to get it because it fit just right and I got lucky, but I wasn’t confident on how to tell a good leather jacket from a bad one, other than that the really bad ones smell like plastic and have some of the pleather rubbing off. Anyone have good tips for this?

  17. Anonymous says:

Can I get a second opinon on this jacket? Not the style, I’m happy with that, but the wear on it. Are the wrinkles on this harsh enough to pass on it?

  18. Anonymous says:

Men, I need some advice. How do I shrink my jacket some? This is a 20+ something year old leather, supposedly from Argentina, used to be my father’s until I took it out of the closet and serviced it back to life. It had been accidentally thrown in the laundry, extremely dried and left to preserve in a dark closet for many many years. It’s older than me. Just wiped it down with a damp cloth and applied mink oil over a period of three days. Now it seems to have stretched out pretty big. I am wagering that covering it in a towel and pouring hot water on it, let it steep in a tub for a few minutes then dry and let hang, will solve some of that extreme bagging. Though I’ve been told it may not be a reliable idea

I got pic rel from Yoox. I use left strictly as a biker jacket and right for casual wear. These are my first leather jackets, any recommendations for cleaning/conditioning products? I rode through a rain storm this weekend and my jacket got soaked through.

  20. Anonymous says:

What’s the best approach to getting into leather jackets? I don’t mind putting a few thousands if it means I buy for life, but what’s the difference between 500-800 range and 2k-4k?
Is Blake Hedley a decent brand at all by the way?

/out/ here. Recieved an old leather jacket (80s, 90s). It’s fine but it has this old man smell on it. Any idea how to freshen it up a bit so I don’t smell like a grandpa when wearing it?

Has anyone ever ripped the liner out of a jacket and replaced it? I got an otherwise great jacket but it’s liner is monstrously uncomfortable and makes it almost an entire size smaller when worn with how much room it takes up.

My plan is to buy a silk shirt and cannibalize it for a replacement but I know nothing about this kind of shit

    Pic rel is the jacket

    • Anonymous says:

It’s pretty easy to do using a pre-made shirt but with that style of jacket the tricky part will be ensuring any new stitching doesn’t show through. You might need to keep some of the original lining to help scaffold the new one in.

My current DIY with my leather blazer is to do a big textural embroidery piece on the back with either ‘Saturn devouring his child’ or ‘Witches sabbath’ as the centrepiece

      • Anonymous says:

So to understand, you mean leave like 1-2 inches of the original material around the edges to stitch the new liner on to so I am not trying to sew directly into the leather?

        • Anonymous says:

Yes, because you can always cut it off if you don’t need it and you don’t know what you’re working with until you start removing the lining. It’s also useful with the amount of pining you have to do to ensure the silk lining won’t move when stitching. Gotta know where the ‘bones’ of a garment is

    Cop or not?
    Belstaff

Also only size I can get is small it seems. My fitted shirt size is like XS but I was hoping to get a medium. Thoughts?

Took my measurements and they suggest a small will fit quite well enough though.

    • Anonymous says:

Tbh I’m not impressed with Belstaff’s quality in relation to price and they always have these little details that make them more tacky than they need to be, but I guess that’s what makes the reconigzable Belstaff look.

The cuts are good, though, so if you like the style or the brand, go for it. Assuming you picked the correct size, odds are it’ll fit you pretty well.

      • Anonymous says:

Yeah its leather. There’s better pics on the website.

Yeah I like the style of it.
What else would you rec? I’ve never owned a leather jacket before.
I prefer the ones with shirt looking collars

If in Europe, Schott sells decent jackets like picrel at similar prices or cheaper than Belstaff.

A leather jacket in the configuration you want (collar, low on details) should be fairly easy to find at most retailers. It depends mostly on your budget and how much do you care for quality.

But anyway, I didn’t say Belstaff is bad, just somewhat overrated with regards to price. If you really like that jacket and are OK with the price, by all means go for it.

Personally I wouldn’t go with lambskin because it is not particularly durable. If it’s cheap I guess that works but the entire point of wearing leather is having a marginal degree of protection from bites, rocks and improvised weaponry in a socially acceptable way. A lambskin jacket is going to rip the second something sharp even looks in your direction.

It looks fine, but obviously cheap. Aside from what mad max here said […]
lambskin leather is fine for a cheap jacket that you aren’t going to wear very often. It wears out quickly, and gets a saggy awkward look because the cheap stuff stretches very unevenly. I wouldn’t spend my money on lambskin ever because I prefer stiffer heavier jackets. But for something cheap and lightweight that you aren’t expecting to get as much use out of, it’s probably fine.

I don’t know what you guys do with your jackets, but I’ve had a lambskin jacket that I’ve worn a lot for over a decade now and it has held pretty nicely.

Also found this other jacket that I really like but the side straps look tacky. Thoughts on these?

You can never win can you.

The creasing means that the jacket has been worn a lot. It’s hard to tell just from the pic but I have a similar jacket with a similar level of leather quality and has held up pretty well for many years. Overall jacket looks like it still has years of servicability ahead of it, but I’d ask for pics of the linning, since a jacket that has been worn that much is bound to have scruffs and maybe tears inside. How much are they asking for it?
