Dressing like your personality

whenever I buy clothes I’m always second guessing myself about whether I’m being too much of a tryhard or if they aren’t really "me". I have a lack of identity in general so I don’t even know how the heck to dress. Do any of you have this problem and if so how to deal with it? Just buy shit that’s comfortable?

Make a lookbook, collect photos all the clothes you like in 1 folder + 1 photo of your face.
Then, when you have enough photos, remove the item that don’t go with the overall style.
Make one coherent style, then compare it to the photo of your face to see if the style really fits you.

Then, only buy clothes online and only clothes that are in your lookbook.

Wtf do people actually do this?

I see something I like and I buy it, thats how I acquired my wardrobe. How do people end up being such NPCs that they have to study what to wear? WTF. I thought that was a joke initially

I guess it’s a white people thing, being organized and all that…

Once you have a style you don’t have to second guess. Even if there are other styles you like, you know they won’t fit you.
That’s how professionals do, you create your style and you stick to it.
It takes time at first, but when you have it, you don’t waste time chosing your clothes, ever.

nah G its an autistic person thing. youre clearly some weird chud trying to into fashion and its not going to work for you. youre not good looking enough and youre not spontaneous enough ti make fashun work for yourself.

            Projection, lol. I’m a solid 7.5 to 8/10

            >and youre not spontaneous
            I’ll give you that.

            >get pinterest. look up stuff you like.
            >get gimp. organize it.

It’s pretty much the same idea. It’s long to explain but it doesn’t take much time really.
            >oh i like this photo, in my folder it goes
            boom

You’re just creating a mood board, which isn’t a bad idea if you’re having an identity crisis. Getting your ideas organized will save you plenty of money and existential dread. You can skip the photo of your face and just keep a collection of fits that you vibe with if that makes you uncomfortable.

        >How do people end up being such NPCs that they have to study what to wear?
The irony of lurking a LULZ fashion board and thinking you too cool for this is astounding

i used to dip in and out of this. I think it depends on where you live. when youre in a small town/surburban area where people dress pretty plain you worry more about standing out too much

quoves actually kind of talks about this in one of his videos. Your style should be congruent with your face, body and personality

Just but whatever is on clearance sale in your size and make it work. If people make fun of you than make fun of them back. If you can’t make fun of them for how they dress, then make fun of other aspects.

Like about their race and when they are disabled?

Yeah if they want to take it that far, but usually would start out at more benign flaws or shortcomings that are less hurtful than racism,.

If you can’t tailor your looks to your personality, tailor your personality to your looks. Try a completely different look every day and try to act like you think that style’s "personality." Eventually you’ll find one where you don’t have to try and you’re done, and this method has the added benefit of being very fun. Or you could just dress like you have no personality.

Actually good advice, when I started trying for my fits I would go for some (imo) cosplay/archetype fits to see what sticks or not and ofcourse depending on peoples reactions(which there always are when you dress even with a modicum of thought and experimentation) I would change my mannerisms and speech patterns just to play of off the perceived perception of other people, mostly for my own laughs and amusement. When you do this they have no clue what to think because you are authentic to yourself even if the clothes might not be and doing this more and more you will naturally gravitate to fits that make you as authentic as you can be without larping.

    >Ithink this picture is, in visuals, like really sees a lot of what my problem with him is and particularly my problem with his aesthetic. You know how like blackpillers are always saying Chad doesn’t have to dress up you know he just rolls out of bed and women flock to him and then if you dress up in nice clothes it’s not gonna help you at all? And that’s true, don’t get me wrong but it’s something I been thinking about when it comes to styling and grooming and stuff. It’s like, the styling and grooming even if you’re a decent looking guy like this guy is, if it doesn’t match the personality you have on the inside, if it’s not your natural style of grooming or dress, it will always look awkward and tryhard. And what I mean is like you guys have seen the way I dress that I’m basically a slob and I’m not saying that in a way to put myself down, it’s just that fashion is not something I’m really interested in. But I actually dress very similar to how this guy dressed in the first picture, the picture on the left. That type of style matches our interior personalities. So, this guy, who is a good looking guy, good height good frame. Look at his aesthetic on the right picture, look at his aesthetic now. Hell, look at his hecking room. It doesn’t look natural. And I’m not saying, like there are people who can dress that way, like for instance my brother is a great dresser, my sister is a great dresser. But it fits their personalities. If I tried to play dress-up I would look ridiculous. It just doesn’t fit with the interior me. And there’s no way to scientifically analyze it but it’s true. So your style needs to be your natural style or it’s just gonna look wrong, it’s not gonna look right. And this guy, again, even though he’s a good looking guy, it doesn’t look right
