All my expensive shoes like margiela are collecting dust but at least when I wear dries van noten clothing it during heck with my health. Also a top down view is going to look the worst but it shows you what a foot shape actually looks like.

The it’s not so much that you need all the benefits of barefoot, but you need a toebox that doesn’t squish your toes.

No, i’m saying that you take the worst of both world, your "barefoot" shoes are not the same as going barefoot.
So if you take going barefoot as a scale, being barefoot being 100% benefits.
Your vibram 5 fingers have maybe 70% of the benefits of going barefoot.
Your wjite birkenstock maybe 50%.
There’s other shoes that look less silly and you would have 40% of the benefit of going barefoot (like plain plimsolls with a zero drop and reasonably shaped toebox).
And at the bottom of the scale you would have high hells with pointy toebox that would have 0% of the benefits of going barefoot.
There’s a whole spectrum of shoes but you act like your silly looking shoes are like 100% benefits and every other shoes are like 0%.
That and the fact that Vibram claims have been proven to be total bullshit, in court, with podiatrists testifying against it.

That’s why i said 50%, stupido. The Birks he posted have a wide toebox and a 0 drop, so it’s half the criteria of "barefoot" shoes (that aren’t like being barefoot either, the whole thing is a gimmick).
I’m glad you actually do have some thoughts about barefoot shoes.
So the number one thing for me is having a natural foot shaped toe box. That’s the things that kills my feet the most. Besides that have close to zero drop is good. And then lastly a thing sole.
In my opinion, these shoes are at 80% close to optimal (barefoot I guess). And that is me putting something like a common projects sneaker at 0%. I don’t wear high heels since I’m a guy and spent years trying to make designer sneakers work so that’s my comparison. I say 80% because just the ability for my toes to splays lets me use my toes and at the very least doesn’t constrain then and deform them like normal shoes do. You can remove the chunky Birkenstock insole and your left with pretty thin and flat sole that has a human shaped foot.

I also have the margiela GATs and they’re a staple for me. really hard to heck up a fit with them. Only thing I hate is how badly the stitching on the insole tag wears.
I had about a dozen pairs of shoes before the hurricane, now I have only 4 pairs.
I just bought a pair of shoes for the suit I am buying. Those are pretty nice.
My other shoes now are just some brooks running shoes and Cole Haan sneakers.

Just treated these a bit after wearing them a lot recently. I have a lot more shoes but I don’t really think I’d need more than this for a "rotation", apart from obligatory derbies for formal events, kickers for chores and tough boots for stuff out in the environments. Although I would include my loafers in this for summer.
