Post a pic or specific example because I don’t remember pearl necklaces being in fashion, although I remember seeing many Men’s rings, hebrewelled pins and brooches during 1980s.
show me a single good example of a man wearing a necklace over a buttoned up shirt that looks good. protip: you can’t. it would always look better either poking slightly out from underneath or entirely not visible.
they’re different fashion choices for two completely different purposes, necklace over shirt gives you more symmetry for your body and necklace below shirt exposes more your chest which is good if you have a good looking neck and torso
>necklace over shirt gives you more symmetry for your body
Most stupid shit i’ve read all day. Your body doesn’t a chain to appear more symmetrical. Chain over shirt is zoomer shittok style. Simple as. Especially if you’re trying to go with a more traditionnal menswear attire. It’s exactly just like wearing your watch over your shirt. Only Gianni Agnelli can pull it off. it appears frankly stupid on basically everyone. That rings true for both the watch over the sleeve and for the necklace over the shirt. It looks ostentatious and childlike. i probably would’ve done the same thing when if I had gotten a nice necklace as a 16 year old and wanted to imperatively show it off.

why would you wear a necklace if nobody is going to see it?
Why would you wear a ring if you’re gonna wear gloves? Why wear a watch if you’re gonna have long sleeves? Why get a tattoo if you’re going to wear clothes over it? Why wear get a six pack if you’re going to wear a t shirt? The answer is because if you’d put your ring, watch, necklace etc. OVER your clothing, you’d look stupid. Plus the necklace can be visible even wearing it under your shirt if you decide to unbutton the top buttons. It creates a slight erotic surprise. There’s sensuality in a necklace hugging your skin. There’s physicality to it. Wearing it over your shirt just screams attention-whore.

If you are a fully grown adult why are you coping after I called it a shitty tik tok trend (which it is). it was started by harry potter fans and dark academia dorks to show off their eboy pearl necklaces bought from etsy and their ironic christian necklaces that they stole from their grandfather. You’ll never see a self respecting person wear a disgusting bulky necklace over an oxford shirt. I happen to have friends who don’t groom minors by utilising faux-trends started by american queer youth on online websites so rightfully so I’ve never actually seen someone try this shit in real life.

I 100% agree with this. I was just on social media and saw Drake wearing a necklace over his shirt and he looks like a moron.
That, plus a turtleneck, he looks like he eats yogurt out of men’s asses with that look.

what do you think about this outfit?
OP, the necklace is really my main problem. But even if over the shirt was acceptable, that necklace looks awkwardly fitted for you. Seems too short for how you’re wearing it. It’s sitting too rounded and not relaxed on your chest because it’s too short.
open up that shirt more, either wear the pearls under that or do not at all, maybe change belt. That is overall good imo but that style is getting a bit overdone
Classic autumn beige chinos, black belt and Argyle wool sweater vest in earth tones w/ black accent, but the strand of pearls is abit distracting — although fashion forward in 2012.
Men have not traditionally worn necklaces on outside of collared shirts, and this look with pearls is undoubtedly very feminine.
Short strand of creamy white pearls is very feminine and debutante in style, so it’s definitely youthful (as opposed to matronly / Dowager-core), and could work with the conservative preppy vibe but it’s seems like a triple-mixed metaphor in terms of Nostalgia and Zoomer E-bro core.
Namley it seems a tad precious and affected as opposed to picrel example’s very masculine and aggressive Ebro-take on pearls for dudes.
Symbolism of pearls is very feminine in nature, and historical cultural associations are with docile femininity and purity.
This pic is very striking because dude is pretty masculine in his muscular fizeek, but his style-vibe is definitely androgynous in hair use of much hebrewellery and especially naipolish and pearls. It kinda works as Zoomer Ebro subversion of traditional styles in blending many looks.
The basis of the outfit is decent, the hair I don’t like but is a matter of taste. Wearing knitwear tucked into pants and wearing a necklace over a shirt are absolutely stupid and I don’t know why zoomers think it’s acceptable. The necklace being pearls is gay as heck and only makes sense if you’re a submissive bottom and want everyone to know.
Get a vest and shirt with better quality fabric because they look like they came from h&m. Get them like 3 sizes bigger too, the point of layering is to have some room and these look too small for you. Don’t tuck in all the way either if you’re wearing a bunch of layers, it looks way too try hard, not effortless like the schoolboy vibe you seem to be going for.
I mean at first glance it’s fine – But you’d seriously benefit from higher quality garments, particularly the shirt. It looks like a stark-white polyester Kmart shirt.
I like your retro 60s / early-70s aesthetic in your clothes and in the decor inspo, and I can see you like stylistic consistency in your life. So your authenticity is very cool tbh.
would be fine without those gay ass pearls
Mens pearls were a thing in the 80s and I only learned that recently.
but these in particular look cheap and out of place
Post a pic or specific example because I don’t remember pearl necklaces being in fashion, although I remember seeing many Men’s rings, hebrewelled pins and brooches during 1980s.
The AIDS epidemic was also a thing in the 80’s. Whats your point gay.
gay, people make fun of you wearing these 70’s gay teacher clothes
what if youre hot and a teacher though
then you’re not wearing that.
fits well and the colors match nicely, accessories looks good, you can only pull this off if you’re a handsome blonde twink like that guy tho
a necklace never goes over the shirt. otherwise it’s good.
>a necklace never goes over the shirt
what a dumb shit to stick to, fits perfectly just like that

Studies from 16:-18:00.Has teachers cock in his mouth the rest of the day.
Looks okay but this is what literal gay zoomers sometimes wear so if you want to avoid the association then steer clear
really? i ddnt know it looked so gay :/
why would you wear a necklace if nobody is going to see it?
mormon core
You shouldn’t be tucking in that sweater vest
You look very handsome, OP, but the necklace nearly ruins the entire fit.
Gay af tbh senpaitachi
It looks good except the necklace is overkill.
It coordinates well. But what shoes are you wearing?
looks like some poorgay with no interest in fashion tried playing dress up. awful/10

i don’t think sweaters should be tucked in
am i wrong?
Looks shit
Hmmm you tucked a vest into your pants and put your moms pearls on. I mean I appreciate the experimentations but you’re trying too hard

I think it’s a great fit, love the necklace.
Aggressively homosexual
I loved you in Atlantis: the Lost Empire.
I mean at first glance it’s fine – But you’d seriously benefit from higher quality garments, particularly the shirt. It looks like a stark-white polyester Kmart shirt.
looks okay but seriously skip the necklace.
If you need to have the necklace then put it under the shirt and pop a button. Pearls are fine but wearing it over the shirt is autistic.
head of the preppy clique. dad owns 18 small islands in the pacific. secretly homosexual.
cool but the necklace doesnt fit
untuck and get rid of the pearls
You look uncannily like a guy I know from uni and make me miss him, heck
But good fit tho, pearls are nice
made for bbc
dont listen to the LULZ children, pearls are cool
Cool but depends on look and fit for how good pearls work imo
>Man wearing pearls
>Tank top tucked into trousers
Please stop
do you have any more pics of fits like this?

Looks good. Necklace looks shit though
I hate it.
