A different color undershirt would compliment the colours more imo. It’s still a cool fit.

Yeah I’d like to try that, still learning and I’m mostly going straight in with pen here so I gotta make the most of whatever shitty proportions I end up laying down most of the time .

He’s kinda weird and ugly, so I don’t exactly take it as a compliment, but he seems kinda cool anyway so I don’t find it that insulting either. He’s certainly slicker than your average glowie, that much I can say.

i’m gonna post this right now just so people stop saying this shit
this is a photo of me from when I was like 12, at most.
I’m not balding, my hairline really is naturally just that hecking dogshit.
and my skull shape does NOT help.
At some point I’m gonna just buy some cheap anime cosplay mask or miniaturized computer monitor shell to wear on my head just so I can let my outfits speak for themselves instead of being told I look like beavis from butthead for the 384th time.
god willing the moment I get my hands on something like that I’m ditching the teeny glasses, getting a new trip, and any post I make before that will be the last the internet sees of "Doug Devious" for a good long while.
Stroke of luck I’m not concerned with getting any kind of women, or even men for that matter, because otherwise I’d be a total incel. All I have to worry about is being able to accept my own appearance, which unfortunately is probably impossible enough thanks to my black hole of an ego that it might just be even worse of a curse than getting no b***hes. It really sucks being fundamentally incapable of achieving your own aesthetic standards, especially if thats something you happen to be massively hecking autistic about like I am. I wouldn’t be into fashion if I weren’t.

          Wow, what an ugly suit

          to be honest, yes.
it hecking sucks in every way and I hope to replace it as soon as I can find something that can.

why? it fits his frame more than the other /fashion/gs who wore curled up crusty pieces of garbage

it does but it’s still boxy, 100% poly rayon, has low armholes, and the sleeves are also too long.

You have more confidence and charisma than 99% of /fashion/. If you’re searching for belonging, I suggest you move out of NA and go east where you will be treated with the respect you deserve. Despite everything you might believe, I’ve maintained that you’re untarnished and a good soul to have on this planet.

          • DougDevious says:

this. keep your head up doug.

thanks, but i’m from NZ not NA, and its more about self respect than anyone else’s perception of me, or "belonging"
still, i appreciate the compliment though, even if it’s not exactly on the money as far as i’m concerned
i think it might be neat, once I have the mask thing going, to start up a TikTok and do little fashion advice videos and outfit rundowns

Look, you aren’t into fashion, you’re just trying to hyper-compensate for your deeply rooted insecurities but you’re too young, poor and ignorant/misguided on the matter to do it without sticking out like a sore thumb or looking like a stupid I’d have beaten the shit out of on daily basis, back in the 90’s.

Go full minimalistic normcore, focus on studying, start making money and hit the gym, then, only then, start building your wardrobe.

Classic menswear is expensive. Conversely, there’s nothing more cringe than cheap costumey CM.

            >I’m not balding, my hairline really is naturally just that hecking dogshit.
Yes you are balding. You need to accept it and look for treatment as soon as possible otherwise you’ll permanently lose your hair.
Looking for your toddler pics is such a classic baldie cope. It might being momentary reassurance to the baldie, making him think his hairline just looks like that but in reality its harmful as it makes the baldie refuse treatment until its too late.
Go to a derm, he will confirm hair miniaturization so you can stop coping with your toddler pics

          • Anonymous says:

are you stupid? if he had the same hairline when he was 12 as he has now then he is obviously not balding

          • Anonymous says:

Stop coping, its not ‘the same hairline’ hes visibly balding. Again doug the bald needs to go to a derm. He will confirm the balding

I of course bought the tie and pocket square intending to do a more deliberate cosplay for a convention last year, but I, unfortunately, made plans and bought things too late to have it all together in time
Ideally, I would team up with a lalo cosplayer and do a gunshot wound SFX on the side of my head, but I guess I can do that another time, though it wouldn’t be quite so fresh of a reference.

hecking A+++ I like how you broke the color matching rule between the jacket and boots with green ones. Not 100% convinced about the beanie but it works, doesn’t really break the fit.

Nah, you and the previous poster are right, the beanke doesn’t work. I’ve got a beanie that matches the cuffs on my jacket and in retrospect I don’t know why I didn’t wear that instead.

I never knew there was a rule about matching footwear colors to jackets though, how does that work with colors like oxblood?

          https://www.grantstoneshoes.com/products/diesel-boot-navy-chromexcel

Those are the boots in question. In theory they are navy colored but in reality they change wildly depending on the lighting. Check this out

Same boot in different lighting conditions, same jeans between the two pics as well. I don’t think people appreciate how much lighting changes your outfit including altering colors.

There is a rule that your leathers should match and your metals should match too. Honestly I don’t pay much attention to it otger tgan not wearing brown boots with a black leather jacket and viceversa. Of course it doesn’t work with oxblood or navy blue.
What I meant is that the safe choice would be brown chocolate boots with your fit, but you broke the rule with the bold choice of boots. Which, by tge way have an interesting effect.
While we’re at it, can I get ID on the jacket? I might be in the market for a dark brown or chocolate leather jacket.

Bad news first: If you want the *exact* model of jacket I have, you’re going to be looking for a while. This is a Lands End bomber from the 80s (I think 85/86), shearling lined, made in the US. It’s my favorite coat, fits like a dream. Got it for 90 bucks years ago, worth several times it’s price IMHO based on fit, quality and functionality.

The good news is this model/style of coat is fairly common. Look up A2 Bomber shearling lined or fur collar and you’ll find something close or even better once you get into the better brands. I highly recommend eBay, I try and get at least half my clothes from eBay, you can find really cool items on there way easier than thrifting and you don’t have to play the "The price is what it is, I know what I’ve got!" stupid bullshit games with thrift store Karens.

s’all good friend, I’m used to a lot worse irl, in the sense where people will ask where my parents are when I have to get/renew official documents, clients will ask where the main guy is, silly stuff like that. People rarely ever believe what I can do or how old I am until they see actual proof
I like to try and dress out of my usual ripped up jeans and messed up tshirts/plaids. Most of us don’t enjoy showing up to important things and being told we look like we just got done painting a house or something. It’s mostly about wanting to regain some normality I guess. I’m aware I look like an absolutely baby faced gay in most of what I post, but idc, I like it and I enjoy it. People can say whatever they want about me, I’m not here to antagonize. I enjoy seeing all the casual day to day fits, and I enjoy posting my shit fits, simple as, the majority of you are pretty cool peepz. There’s some jaded folks out there, but outside of some inevitable leaking gayry from other boards, this board is still very cool and interesting

Cheers on the healthy and positive attitude! I can empathize,I had a babyface when I was younger, got ID’d for everything and didn’t get taken seriously until I was nearly 30. Now I look younger than I am despite so it works out in my favor.

im wearing this cuz its cold and the fit is cozy. guess my gender edition lmao

Based on the fact this is LULZ and what you’re trying to draw attention to by your posting I’m going to say your sex is male but claimed gender is female.

That was a very good price for that jacket. Time to lurk the thrift and vintage shops in my area. A quick search shows a huge variety of A2 jackets, but not so much in chocolate with lighter cuffs and hem. It might take me a while.

The Jeans aren’t ruining a damn thing.

Yes, up until 7-8 years ago you’d have been ridiculed for pairing denim and anything classic menswear and the fact that wearing skinny ripped jeans with orphaned ultra-formal suit jackets was also commonplace back then didn’t help either.

That being said, there’s been a resurgence of Ivy/Prep lately that was basically the perfect storm to ride out for a sub-category of fashion that was desperately in need of smart ways to drop the formality down a notch or two in order to stay relevant and feasible in a world saturated with sloppiness and athleisure.

Hence the current trend of combining classic menswear pieces with vintage/high end denim, military-derived garments (fatigues with double breasted blazers, etc.), vintage inspired sportswear (rugbys) and workwear (lots of gorpcore’ish outerwear in place of overcoats, fleece vests and pullovers, western shirts and flannels underneath suits, etc.).

tl;dr: straight leg, high-rise denim is totally cool with blazers and coats cause they don’t make you stick out like a sore thumb in a room full of polos, hoodies and chinos, get with the hecking times.

    • Anonymous says:

whatever you say bro but truth is the fit looks mediocre thanks to mediocre jeans. all the knowledge from years of menswear board browsing does not excuse them.

    • Anonymous says:

these are good points, its yo[ur execution of your strategy though, the jeans dont look good. Why are they cut off and weirdly pinrolled up and the color of thm and texture doesnt look good. Maybe try some cream colored jeans or beige, or even black or grey.

          Wrangler Cowboy Cut.
I’m never buying any brand of sub $200 dollar jeans ever again. For me, the fit of wrangler cowboy straight and slim beat the living shit out of Levi’s, all mall brands and brands like Acne, Nudie, Naked and Famous and Unbranded. Above $200 and Wrangler is obviously going to lose to Ironheart, Sugarcane, etc. But anything below that and they honestly hold their own. And their shrink to fit jeans are light years better than Levi’s now.
I paid $28 for this pair and it fits better than jeans five and six times the price.

I do constantly use that wrench, along with the multitool and all that jazz. I’ll refrain from posting my EDC, but rest assured that I might be autistic, but I know when and where I shouldn’t take certain things. I’ve posted some fits where I don’t have the wrench, and it’s usually when I stay at home, go to an event, or just spend the entire day walking from place to place. AKA no work and no car bullshit. The average person doesn’t even notice the wrench until I take it out

        • Anonymous says:

Hah I’ve been on /k for too long, when I hear EDC it normally translates to some combination of compact pistol and flashlight, a wrench normally doesn’t factor into it.
I apologize for judging, from your overall look and your fits you didn’t look like the type to be using a wrench on anything. Hell I have no room to judge that sort of thing, I post here and I’m a foreman in a refinery so our clothes sometimes belie our occupations.

I wish I had your psychotic level of self confidence that allows you to judge what other people are wearing while posting a pic of yourself with a too short jacket liner that shows how uneven your shoulders are, a t shirt, destroyed jeans with uneven cuffs, and Walmart tier boots. Your day to day existence must be amazing.
