It is normal life advice mixed with weird, Neo-Gnostic mysticism and the politics of the Dissident Right.
I will sum up all of JP's best actual life advice for all of you, right now, just so you don't have to go through the process of actually reading his book:
    >take care of yourself the way you would take care of someone you love (pretend to love yourself and you might sincerely love yourself)
    >responsibility is hard, but gives you meaning and fulfillment. "Pick up the heaviest thing you can and carry it."
    >each day, compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to someone else
The rest of his points are either insane or common sense. Common sense ones include the infamous cleaning your room point. Insane ones include not letting your kids do things that makes you dislike them (instead of just learning to like what they like, I guess).

People associated with the Dissident Right generally want to fraternize with more moderate groups as much as possible. Moderate Cons/Libertarians are their primary recruitment pool and their presence in more mainstream programs sterilizes their reputation. They are legitimized as a mainstream thinker simply by appearing in mainstream media.

He is an edgy contrarian. Listening to him talk about topics which are clearly beyond his expertise is painful, like climate science for example.

      >remember you're actually way more ignorant than you think you are to things in your peripheral vision and in general, like, your perception, man. scientifically, maan.
i didnt finish the book because it was kinda stupid

Jungian psychology professor that went "viral" and now milks his fame any way he can.

Read Man and his Symbols, The Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious, and Modern Man in Search of his Soul and you'll be as "wise" as Mr. Peterson. Then you can go online and pretend to be a father figure to losers so they'll buy your book full of common sense advice for children.

the collective consciousness has already adapted to his intel for a long time, it might just be pointless but it does have it's tricks to keep the main structure intact so that it's just fools failing constantly in their hell realm but at that point idk if jbp would be for them or if that would just accentuate the suffering, madness gets pretty deep and you realize it is just a feature not a bug at this point but it is all predicated on foolishness being the problem

he was good until he got famous to be precise, now he's a meme

I will say though he is a good teacher but he is a conservative type and very popular now so he's either mainly anti communist or protecting his position and sanity, the consciousness dealing with him is fucked up.

I did exactly what he exemplified. I took benzos and cried like a bitch every two incoherent sentences. Didn't change much.

What did Peterson ever say about Benzos?

I didn't listen to a word he had to say, and my life is already getting better.
just walk around outside and do pushups every other day.
apply yourself to a goal like learning a language.
If you can do those you'll automatically feel better and more importantly you'll be making progress in life.

I dont actually dislike his book. What a lot of people dont really get is that reading 3 bullet points amounts to basically 0 time. It's not motivating.

If you're actually reading a book about self help, you might spend 3 or 4 days consuming what it has to say. Its a lot longer for it to sink in

    my room is clean
    i got fit and healthy
    i work a good job
i make a good amount of money
it doesn't bring any sense of fulfillment
it doesn't rectify my rampant anhedonia or address the fact that nothing seems to work for me
it doesn't make a woman want me or even consider me for a relationship
it doesn't make people want to be around me
it doesn't rectify my continual avoidance and sense of perpetual inadequacy

he talks in platitudes without ever giving definitive proof. he always talks about overarching archetypes and symbolism, without ever delving deeper or providing tangible evidence supporting his points. it's quasi-religious diatribes. he offers basic, shitty self-help tier advice that is all about making you a compliant prole in a dehumanizing machine. he simply spouts these platitudes as fact, with little to no supporting evidence other than archetypal nonsense but confidently enough that many accept his gospel as truth. even if I agree with him politically, his words are simply hollow. it's even worse when he can't even follow his own advice/gospel, and he falls prey to drug addiction while similarly being suicidal. he's simply a charlatan who happens to fall on a side of the political aisle I happen to fall on. his advice doesn't even work for him. why the fuck should i listen to him?

Peterson hasn't figured it out himself. In fact he is the archtype example of someone who just followed the rules of life and ended up miserable.

Everything he tells people to do and does is based on societies expectations of him. Like many autists his reason for doing things is superficial.
      >i got fit and healthy
      Why?
      >i work a good job
      Why?
      >i make a good amount of money
      Why?

What is it that you do these things for? Are you chasing happiness? Do those things actually make you happy or do they just make you feel safe?
