Oh, neat. I'm all for paid open source software.
You can't build good software on dreams alone, not if you want to compete with the big boys at Microsoft. I think it's moronic that the open source community gets so pissy about the concept of profit.

Linux OS are open source and free, but you need to know some technically shit to get it to boot from the USB to your computer. I tried and said fuck it and just bought one and it worked. Zorin OS Pro is $39, so i'm assuming hes just reselling it, because he paid for it.

              > you need to know some technically shit
Zorin Pro is paid, it is absolutely legal to sell open source software as long as you provide the source code and licence.
The question is, who would pay for something that you can download and install for yourself.
The older I get, the more I understand how one would be willing to pay a couple of bucks just to not have to bother fiddling with config files and what not.
But paying USD 39 to have a Linux desktop that looks like Windows? I can understand getting this for your grandma who will be confused if you so much as change the background color of her desktop. If you are a young guy and you are shelling out USD 39 because you think that booting from USB is "knowing some technically shit" I have some bad news about you and your prospects in the coming cyberpunk dystopia.

                This.
As Linux gains popularity (and therefore profitability), the competition will become stronger and you'll be able to vote with your wallet between distros. Until then, vote for freedom and transparency as opposed to convenience and abuse.
The market share for linux has doubled in the past few years. The outlook is good.

Linux is far more stable if that's what you mean, only time you have to reboot is for a kernel update and the only reason to do that is you need a cutting edge program that doesn't work on your current kernel which isn't that common

sudo makes your command operate under administrator privelage, similar to clicking "yes" in the little popup box when you run an installer on windows
pacman is a command for installing software on arch if you hate yourself and want to suffer
a repo is a software repository from which you pull software

Windows was a good OS for many years, despite people bitching about it. I used it starting 3.11, the noticible decline for me began a little while after 10 was released.
