Why is every single npc so schizophrenically against synthetic materials nowadays? Did the algorithm tell them to hate it ?

Microplastics and fertility and shit… I just bought a nice jacket from a niche brand that I won’t name which was 50 poly/50 Japanese cotton and I am stoked for it to arrive.

My skin hates poly. Anything synthetic makes me break out. I can’t wear acrylic beanies or anything. Also, that shit just looks bad and feels bad.

It feels bad on your skin and gets sweatier. Only npcs wear plastic clothing because they aren’t aware enough to feel that they’re shit

Anything other than an outer wind/waterproof layer will give you skin fungus in hotter weather. It doesn’t ‘breathe’, i.e. doesn’t wick moisture so it evaporates, instead it keeps it inside. Great way to get foot infections too. Sports clothes like t-shirts and jerseys/wifebeaters will stick to your skin when you sweat. Not good functionally overall. It is good for windbreakers and working pants that you want to be cheap because they will be stained with paint or something.

Because they feel bad on your skin

Thread is not a problem unless it’s directly on your genitals

Kek, are thirdworlders unable to wear polyester? Or is this the superior white race unable to wear a bit of plastic? How brittle are your bones and weak is your skin for hecking polyester to be breaking you out.
        >uhhhh, are those pants gluten free? I’m allergic.

I just saw a nigher once posing in a sea of these trash bag looking puffer jackets and I never looked at polyester or anything particularly synthetic the same way again.

heck your planet, heck your health, either are hecked by force beyond comprehension. I just hate nighers. But also, when synth is trash it’s unbearable unlike anything natural.

algorithm told them about microplastics but they still haven’t learned that "100% cotton" on the tag still means a third of the garment is made of polyester thread. because they’re also poorgays.

All my shirts have tags that say 100% cotton
You will elaborate on this claim of yours, now.

the tag only legally refers to the fabric. they can use any thread they want (always polyester) to stitch it together. only really autistic japanese brands that reproduce pre-ww2 military and workwear garments use cotton thread anymore because its not very durable.
you would know if your clothes used non-polyester thread. the stitches pop a lot and don’t last nearly as long.

I don’t thrift but you’re out of your mind if you haven’t found it harder than it was 10 years ago to avoid poly blended stuff. Both jcrew and banana have ruined their chinos for example. Every oxford and twill is a ‘non-iron’ coated with resin. I don’t mind plastic as an oiterwear layer but I would never want it touching my skin anywhere but my elbows and knees. Especially not armpits or crotch.

I do because when I buy anything that costs over 50 dollars then they shouldn’t cheap out on the material

Our economics teacher in high school showed us some burnt ass documentary abt fast fashion and it radicalized me to be a trad schizo moron because I have hyper empathy for dravidian slave classes but still hate hebrews. Mom can you buy me these Solovair steel caps with your credit card now?

    • Anonymous says:

The enlightened path is knowing most polyester products are cheap slave shit and bad in function and appearance but that synthetics can be made high quality and functional. I do hate thrifting like the op says and finding a summer shirt that is baffingly made of polyester or microfiber, its literally unwearable and makes no sense. Polyester is hecking great for certain things to make them wrinkle resistant and have structure, light poly blend slacks and work pants can be the shit

This is true. Synthetics have their place. I have a really nice pair of synthetic hiking pants that dry super fast and are way more durable than any natural material. I can’t go hunting in them though because they’re loud as heck. With that said, natural materials are usually better in most circumstances. Polyester has two main advantages: wind resistance and water resistance/fast drying. If you don’t need any of those properties, there’s no reason to wear it.

I tried really hard to get into shopping for shit at the thrift store and it was always a waste of time.

I’ll happily pay slightly more for vintage shit from Grailed or something if it means I can look at a display and pick one or two things out, instead of digging through bins and spending hours of my days off browsing.

I am not a fan of shopping, certainly not shopping for used shit

to be fair the reason polyester thread is so universal is because its genuinely better than cotton thread not to cheapen things. you’re spoiled by it and would complain about your clothes falling apart if they went back to cotton thread.

It’s very hard to find good quality clothing at thrift stores because the hecks who work there get first dibs on everything, and then you have the local hobos who practically live there getting second dibs. I have found some good deals on non-clothing items though, stuff like cookware.
