I mean Converses like picrel, not bright red high tops or whatever.

4-8 months depending how shit the weather and the pavements are in your city, how often did you get caught under the rain, how many times you’ve accidentally used them to walk 30 km or play some sports. I usually buy mine in the spring and throw away in the fall. >but they can still be mostly intact
True but worn converses are a special type of look, it works if you’re a surfer hobo, skater, a guitar guy or something. If you’re just using them as your city shoes and aren’t too gentle they really start to look subpar quite soon.
the 70s are a straight upgrade in every regard pretty much. its a better deal than the cheap ones because the foxing tape doesn’t separate on the 70s nearly as fast and the heel takes longer to wear through, which are the 2 things that usually kill chucks early. its also got a noticeably more cushioned midsole and thicker canvas.
the normal all stars are better for lifting weights in and some other stuff like that because theres no cushioning. and the look is a bit different, i still like them. those are the only 2 reasons i’d buy them anymore though. the more expensive one is cheaper to wear.
converse also does a made in japan line of them even higher quality than the 70s called converse addict. if you get those its cheaper to proxy buy them than to go through a retailer.
and there’s a bunch of jap brands such as shoes like pottery, novesta, moonstar etc making chuck clones or shoes really similar to it in much higher quality. again also proxy buy if you get them. you can get slp’s for like 10-20 bucks more than 70s and they’re a lot nicer.
Got some Moonstars off a JP site and can confirm they are nice.

>70s version
I’m clueless unfortunately because I’m a basic b***h who only gets the default white ones in low
They’re supposed to be higher quality. Back when I wore chucks at my food service job they would wear out so quickly. The quality is just so unacceptably bad that if I ever got them again I’d make sure to get the 70s or a pair with a higher price point (like something from nordstrom). I wear sperry cvo mostly. They hold up well and have a much wider footbed so they’re better for your feet.

How old are you? Really, it’s not a matter of age either way. Maybe more a matter of context. What I wear is very context dependent so in that sense i agree with

I’m 31 and I wear them when I’m running around with my daughter.
Personally I don’t like chucks, but it’s interchangeable with any other canvas shoe. Like i said I prefer sperry’s, but there’s vans, tretorns, vejas, superga, seavees, pf flyers, chuck purcells, designer versions, etc etc etc. I wouldn’t say you’re ever "too old" to wear canvas sneakers, it just has to make sense in the context of your outfit and the place you’re using it.
Wearing throw away shoes is for teenagers and stupids. Some people use them for weightlifting but other than that they are waste of money and look like shit
those specific chucks in picrel? over 16 imo. i always associate the non-traditional colorways of chucks with teenagers who get their shoes at ross. the only acceptable chuck colorways into adulthood are classic black/white, all black, or all white twink shoes if you’re bisexual.
I think the only factor in pulling off converse is how big your feet are. If you’re not a twink they will look like clown shoes. Which is stupid cause they’re basketball shoes.

What about the 70s version? The rubber sole is off white on all of these as far as I know.

i really want to like pf flyer but their modern quality is so meh.
>tfw a week later I realize I misunderstood OP’s question
lmao
>4-8 months
This, you shouldnt wear them past the age of 8 months
They are just shoes.
>They are just shoes.
true, but in my opinion the rubber-toe makes them look like shoes for toddlers.
they are shitty overpriced shoes, even random no-name $20 walmart sneakers are more supportive and have better quality construction than chucks.

why is /fit/ so obsessed with being gay as a requirement to wear shit
You have to pop that cherry if you want to wear white chucks like us, sista.
tsmt
give me that bussy gay

Cool story bro. If you had a daughter to run around with, you wouldn’t be hanging around with trannies and /fashion/ggots here.

If you’re 107 you’re too old for Chucks.
What about Sneeds?
19+
It’s a timeless, classic shoe. You can wear them into your 60’s, easily. Probably even 70s, or until you die.
The low tops are ageless, the high tops shouldn’t be worn past the age of 16
young zoomers wear New Balance and those shoes are suppose to be old people shoes.
how come converse gets an age limit?
