Are these the same ones that have to be de-frosted with helicopter mounted flame throwers?

Yup. Have them all over Canada as well. The diesel is used to defrost the engine because if the props aren't moving then they don't make power. No power = heating the unit. Diesel is required to make them functional.

Same for all nuclear plants require diesel to cool the system since cooling must be independent of the power production for safety and it's the only reason most of all this old nuclear junk on the landscape hasn't blown up. Diesel secondary systems keep it all icy cool.

I just attended a government scheme for unemployed old cunts and these 2 bitches who are likely on 40-50 grand a years did a marvellous powerpoint presentation, the first question was
        >what are the benefits of being employed
I almost lost my shit, told them they were patronising us and said they could ask a 12 year old the same question and the kid would come up with the same answer
The reality is we were only there to justify the employment of these stupid bitches, I imagine there were a dozen meeting with a dozen other useless wankers on the government tit, the scheme likely cost millions, it was like the fucking Office or something. Also the bitch with the laptop kept getting messages from the Labour party popping up on her screen

Reminder that we are at dangerous level of co2 and are at extreme risk of killing all life on the planet if we do not raise them.

Checked. This anon knows what’s going on. See pic related. We are at historically low levels of CO2 in the atmosphere and everything that’s been added since the start of the Industrial Age isn’t even a blip on the graph.
Reducing CO2 levels is not only unnecessary, it could well be dangerous.

It's a bit awkward that more CO2 isn't inherently bad but too much of it leads to every living thing itself except plants being strangled

Not really bc higher co2 leads to higher oxygen production.

They're a death cult. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, makes more sense when you view the world through the lens of the Elite being a death cult that despises the flourishing of life on this planet. That's the goal. The globalist fucks have been attacking the global food supply on every front. We're on the verge of a CO2 drought and they're trying to get us into it faster. With the frequency of CO2 releasing volcanic eruptions dropping, it's important that humans serve their useful function of releasing sequestered CO2 that nature can't utilize on its own for the benefit of life on the planet as a whole.

you're still dodging or just dumb. if they produce ANY electricity then they COULD harness it to power the deicing stuff, based on waht you've said. so the question becomes, why did they decide they couldn't produce enough energy to the point they needed evil fossil fuels to do it. if GREEN = PLENTY AND CLEAN, then they'd have done it

either they can't because they aren't reliably making power, which would invalidate the publicly funded money they're lying to receive or they just didn't want to

i'm leaning toward what it always is, fluffed up numbers to support the green energy scam and they can't deice with green energy because that's how fucking INefficient it all is

your the one to bring up batteries, not me. The generated power should be able to power its own systems in real time, particular somthing as simple as genewrating heat which just neats electricity to run through a circuit with a heating element
The truth it that the windmills simply do not produce power reliably, and you are going to any length to obfuscate that fact.
They are essentially religious monuments to lure others of the same cult mindset to invest, its a scam

                Anonymous

Holy fuck you're stupid. If the turbine isn't spinning because it's frozen its not making energy. If it doesn't have a way to store energy it previously generated (batteries) then it can't defrost itself. Hence diseal generators are used to defrost the turbine so it can start moving under wind power. You are a legitimate moron.

                Anonymous

                >If the turbine isn't spinning because it's frozen its not making energy
If it had been producing energy it would not freeze and require the generator in the first place. Why does the generator not have the same problem? Why do nuclear power plants not have the same problem? because they RELIABLY create power, you seemt o compoletely be missing the point that the system you are outlining reveals just how useless these thigns are
many of them are so innefective they are net NEGATIVES on the power grid. How are you still here justifying this, acting so smug while you explain that the windmills literally just sit there unable to even power themselves? At what point do you realize how ludicrous this all is?

                Anonymous

Hey dipshit, as mentioned above. Nuclear power plants DO ALSO use diseal generators to power to the cooling system for the reactor. The reactor doesn't power its own cooling because that's fucking retarded.

                Anonymous

No, they are powered by the grid, and have generators for emergency purposes, now you are outright lying, but even if that were true, generators to move water to cool a reactor is quite different than generators to unfreeze a completely unfunctioning windmill every time it gets below freezing

That is, and has been from the very start, MY ENTIER POINT
This is just becoming odd now, you are the one trying to justify external generators, yet now you are admitting plants use their own power to operate their own systems.
You have just conceded that i was right all along.

                Anonymous

So what happens if the grid goes down duets the reactor having a problem and there is no generator? Now apply the same logic to a turbine that has been frozen and can't generate heat to defrost itself.

I honestly believe you're trolling now

                Anonymous

You literally conceded that the plant powers itself off of it's own generated power for normal operation, somthing you started the debate saying is not done. you lied saying they use generators as part of their normal operation and then conceded my original point. Now i assume you are goign to try and adjust your argument but you literally already conceded, there is no reason to continue talking to you other than mocking you,

Address the point i made. Without an external power source (generator), what happens to the cooling system of a reactor unable to generate power to feed "the grid" the feed its cooling system? Does it workout does the system fail?

I am wise enough to know you seek to make a false equivalence between a emergency procedure a nuclear reactor will almost never need to utilize in its life with a standard operating procedure of windmills. There is nothing to debate as we have already resolved.
I would be equally critical of nuclear reactors if they produced 0 energy and required external power for an entire season every year, for i am not an ideologue like you have been, however they do not have this problem.

So to answer your pointless question: It makes sense for both to have back up power sources, however the windmill outright relies on that back up source because it is a poor, ineffective design propagated by ideologues like you who will make all manner of illogical arugment to excuse for their inefectiveness as opposed to improving them.

We don't have this problem where i live, and it is significantly colder here. your shit is just poorly designed

It's not a stand procedure, that's where you're completely wrong. The generator is only used to defrost the turbine when it becomes frozen just as a reactors generator is used in the event of a power failure. Your premise is entirely wrong

It's not a whole season only a during the extrene coldest days, the generator powers on for 15 minutes to defrost and then it's back to normal operation. You're trying to make it sound like it's running 24/7 for w months of the year which just proves how retarded you are.

You are trying to draw equivalence between unforseen nuclear meltdown and a cold day. You are such a clown it is unreal. You are still trying to argue something you outright admitted is not true, shifting the goalposts literally with every post. Why?

                Anonymous

No, you're trying to make it seem like the generator used to defrost a turbine consumes more energy than the turbine provides making turbines pointless. You're an idiot

They only deliver power to the grid, there is no transformer substation next to them to step HV back down for their own use. They COULD do it, but a step-up, step-down transformer substation is much more expensive than a diesel generator.

                Anonymous

More expensive than the green energy? What's the point if you still use fossil fuels?
If you want it cheap you might abandon the whole idea to begin with. But you can't, because of politics.

                Anonymous

It's not the cost of the energy, it's the cost of the initial materials. You're only running power to defrost them a few days for 15-20 minutes until the turbine is free. 5kw disel generator = a few thousand
Transformer substation station = tendon thousands

The price of diesel to run the generator = 20 bucks
The price of energy from the grid = a few cents

See where you save more money?

NG cannot be stored in large quantities on site.
When it is stored, it is dangerous and can blow up

wind has giant pitfalls for one is not quite clear how large scale wind energy use could affect the local climate since the arguably dries out the air leading to less rain. Another problem is the use of coolants that are more damaging according to the green science and building materials like rain forest wood. Solar is easier but requires shit loads of land even a 99% rectenna would still require a lot. Particle accelerator based nuclear is the best way forward since we already have long experience with either tech and waste is reduced significantly and half time is cutdown from a couple million years to a couple hundred.

What they are good for, is if the grid gets broken down into smaller and smaller sections, because of some volcano or other blast, as a tertiary or auxiliary power source. At which point, it's a raw numbers game of how many you can put up, because you have 0 intentions on maintaining them. basically can keep a town of 50,000 afloat off the back of like 100 of them with some sort of storage ability and a traditional burner/peaker plant.

the blades are actually number 1 function to serve as the flywheel for the diesel engine. this allows the engine load to remain relatively constant as the destination load fluctuates, and relieves and protects the engine from load stresses. It was only a bonus function that the blades could potentially be propelled by wind when the diesel engines go out as a semi-reliable backup source.

    https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/dozens-scottish-power-wind-turbines-29135763

'Dozens of giant turbines at Scots windfarms powered by diesel generators. The firm said it was forced to act in order to keep the turbines warm during very cold weather.

Labour’s South Scotland MSP Colin Smyth said: “The SNP and Greens have proven time and time again they cannot be trusted on environmental issues. Whatever the reasons, having to use diesel generators to de-ice faulty turbines is environmental madness. This level of dishonesty cuts to the very core of the SNP and Green Government where their rhetoric on net zero is very different from the reality."

    --

The chairman of ScottishPower, Spaniard Ignacio Galan, earned over £11million in 2021. He took home the massive package as millions of customers face being plunged into poverty by rocketing fuel costs.

Scottish Power was accused of “unfettered profiteering” after the energy giant raked in £924.6 million in profits during the first six months of 2022. The profits were announced as the cost of electricity and gas has soared plunging thousands of Scots into fuel poverty.

    --

Other technical issues and environmental problems include:
Turbines left operating on half power for long periods due to faulty convertor modules.
Others in “test mode” where they take rather than contribute electricity to the grid.
Over 4000 litres of oil leaked from hydraulic units on turbines and sprayed over the countryside.

The whistleblower said: “Turbines are regularly offline due to faults where they are taking energy from the grid rather than producing it, and also left operating on half power for long periods due to parts which haven’t been replaced.

"Dirty hydraulic oil is also regularly being sprayed out across the Scottish countryside due to cracks in mechanisms. Safety standards have not improved since a worker was killed in 2017 at Kilgallioch wind farm.”

I doubt the net contribution is negative because of a diesel generator but it really depends on the generator.

    Just to name a few,

    2. The material can't be disposed of, so it is either buried or dumped somewhere. Over here they tried to create a playground out of the parts for children, not really a good idea, see point below
    3. The ''mills'' have a thin toxic layer that over time releases very tiny particles into nature
    4. The ones placed in the water disturb the sealife due to it causing unnatural vibrations in the water.

I suspect the climate lobby will soon take a huge hit to reputation that it might be fatal.

all things considered, fossil fuels are superior. they are compact/dense, can be stored for a relatively long time if good storage requirements are met.

backwards compatibility with 100 years of motorized history so there is even a lot of recycling possible.
a lot of experience as well.

basically, electric can only overtake fossil if battery tech improves so much as to become cheaper and more readily available than fossil.
lithium batteries are not there yet.

for now, this whole climate push is 100% inorganic and is forced by governments with high subsidies because lobbyists and "green" business interest need to make money.

at this point its basically a forced scam.

again. as soon as battery tech becomes cheaper/better than fossil fuels, people will switch naturally.
that is what happened when oil and gas came along. coal powered steam engines then were gradually but certainly phased out in favor of fossil.

not because of some government/israeli forced memes but because it was a superior technology.

The climate scam is a globhomo conspiracy to enable the 4th industrial revolution. They use the climate hoax to force western countries to enforce legislation that bans gas emissions which results in banning ICE cars andshutting down farms. It only benefits to China who produces already half of the EVs in the world, they make all the batteries for Tesla, they make solar panels and wind turbines. China and globhomo companies like Tesla and Apple are the sole winners of this new deal. It won't save the planet, in fact these techs cause enormous chemical pollution in soils and rivers. It will cause famine and migrations because of food shortages caused by shutting farms. It's a declaration of war against humanity by the WEF-CCP cabal.

from growing food to extracting minerals to heating factories and transporting freight.

will we have battery powered mining equipment and tractors soon?
      probably not.
it will take another 50 years to get up to the same efficiency if ever.

then there is all the talk about hydrogen. its the same story all over, storage needs to be high quality unless you want to blow up
that means its also prohibitively expensive.

nothing comes even close to the ubiquity, safety and low cost of diesel engines.

they seem pretty powerful to be fair.
a concentrated sun ray can start a fire in no time.
imagine thousands of those mirrors focusing light onto one point.

they are probably fairly expensive to make and you just cant have them everywhere if there is no sun.
you still have to deal with power storage.
then they mention heat based storage (to have a night buffer)

glownagger spotted. it's actually because it's white technology and the nagger triumverate run from my country wants the entire white world to become black and use black people power which is inherently a scam against the people because that is how we do it here in africa which is the seat of power of this world (on the surface).

I wish you guys would put the fires out up in Alberta.
as soon as I started telling people Canada is the last bastion for White Humans the whole fucking shithouse went up in flames.
I'm planning on driving my truck up to the border and then cruising through the woods on my Yamaha WR250r fully packed. I'll set up camp somewhere innawoods and then find a pond hockey circuit to get in. Once I get a cute Canadian White gf I'll be all set. hopefully she has a job or gibs.
