Then they turn around and say some stone age native hominid and a blond hair blue eyes Aryan are genetically identical and the only difference is cultural.

this is very true. as a biologist enthusiast I am always surprised at how primitive our understanding of humans are. all work on things like this has been stopped since the 80s now it's known as "scientific racism". I mean australian aborgines don't even look humans they have to be a different subspecies or something, especially when we can tell a persons race from their skulls.

not sure how accurate those "hundreds" and "thousands" numbers are but chances are they're like 1,000 different types of indistinguishable snails and shit. has always been this way.

It's because of the way they classify Species, nowadays. Its the same reason we can discover Thousands of new species and have Thousands go extinct. I

Would explain the hair and scales. Weird monster, can she breathe underwater?

It makes sense if the Hist want them to be as human-like and compatible as possible. The fact that they started out as lizards is meaningless with this sort of whimsical instant evolution.

Erm I'm talking about Real life.

Well, to answer your question, they don't serve much purpose in human women either. Nipples are modified sweat glands that produce an enriched variant of sweat. The rest doesn't serve this purpose at all, it's just an accessory, same for the penis being much bigger than necessary to actually inseminate a mate. They have social functions, which can be argued to be as practical for survival/success as their primary function. We lost most of our fur, so it was necessary to shape our skin instead.

While the logical outcome of this might be a little different for reptiles, it would still happen somewhere and probably be analogous to human privates.

we aren't discovering more species now than we have before, we haven't really changed are criteria for what makes a species. maybe I misworded that.
