Realize that no one gives a shit about you or what you wear, you will impress no one and will have people laugh after you because you have strayed from the norm and look silly to them, but three seconds after you walk past, they will forget you even exist. Wear what you want king

Why would artsy girls be interested? I’d understand if OP’s fit was actually cool and interesting. He looks dog shit in them. Too much of a manlet to pull this look off

I honestly think that outfit looks kinda cool and I’d give whoever was wearing it an immediate modicum of respect for standing out against everyone else. I think some more stylish boots would be an upgrade, though.

Why do so many newfags on here not understand filenames? Do they not show up on iphones or something like that? OP’s pic has an imgur filename. Why would a picture of himself have that filename instead of a camera date or a custom name?
I see this stupidity in waywt too, newfags fall for reposts/bait posts that didnt even bother to change the filename that they saved from LULZ or elsewhere.

I don’t give a shit about filenames. Whether or not that’s OP or not is irrelevant. He used it as an example of "avante garde" style, so it’s appropriate to respond to it as a conceptualization of what he wants to wear.

Filenames don’t display on LULZ’s mobile website unless the image is clic- sorry, ‘tapped’ on. Most people browsing this website now wouldn’t even think to look at a filename for any reason and instead prefer ‘humor’ spoonfed to them like this garbage, because social media sites use compression and non-human-readable filenames.

I don’t think anybody on this board likes that image and using LULZ on a desktop does not make you part of some Mensa club of elite anonymous individuals. What are you even trying to virtue signal about? That you take posting on a semi-anonymous weeb site as a serious badge of personal merit? Holy shit, lol, get over yourselves.

Yeah actually I do. Accessing the internet prior to having a smartphone generally required what was considered specialist equipment, especially in the early 2000’s. Since progressively more and more people have a computer and internet connection in their homes and a cell phone with internet access in their pocket, anyone can access any website on the internet without having to be a ‘geek’ or whatever you want to call it. Posting on a phone degrades the quality of discussion because few if any phoneposters are going to sit for an extended period of time and type out a long, thought out and edited response to another post on a tiny screen with a tiny keyboard, in addition to other factors such as mass reuse of the same images because a camera roll or downloads folder displays the most recently saved images first.

The "badge" is a symbol of caring about things that have intangible value. Zoomers love to comment on how ‘cringe’ people who are passionate about things are for some ungodly reason because they have nothing to be passionate about. I care about preservation of board culture on this website but board culture is more or less extinct. Also, the image I posted was an example of the Arial in MS paint with image format of image macro. I have seen plenty of people posting similarly formatted images and others jumping to their defence when I call them out on it, though not specifically on this board.

I get what you’re saying, but most of the desktop posters I’ve interacted with in my imageboard journeys aren’t special and there are a great number of them that flat out suck, in
addition to phoneposters. Coincidentally, I’ve been one of the few people that have gone to painstaking lengths to effortpost from mobile when I felt the impotus to do so, throughout the years. And length doesn’t always equal quality. A lot of long posts are just unnecessarily long-winded, like any given page out of Mein Kampf. IB’s were never an intellectual nexus and the best discussions and debates I’ve ever had were from traditional forums. It’s not even really phoneposting that attracts the basic crowd, but the near anonymity and echo chamber demographic. I used to be like you, buying into the IB ideal, but then you take off the nostalgia glasses and realize it was never that good to begin with. You guys just really overrate yourselves and the past. The strength of imageboards is posting images. The medium is literally built around express social production and consumption.

I’m into avant garde and my biggest hurdle is going out dressed this way. I got the fit down but how doI find the courage?

            Idk looks kinda weird

I mean, yeah, pretty much. You’re posting here too, why would you be proud of being a clueless newgay while doing it?

        • Anonymous says:

The white trousers and the long white shirt-dress looks shit together, sorry.

stupid newgay trying to appear knowledgeable doesn’t know that many extensions and chan apps have features that allow you to auto-change filenames to random 13-number strings, just because its a string of 13 numbers doesn’t mean its a pic downloaded from LULZ you dumbheck goober, I see you being dumb in WAYWT too, please grow a functional brain.
Also some people upload their shit to various sites like imgur.
ALSO the pic could just be an example of the style he is talking about.

      >the only reason to be interested in fashion is the opinion of others, guys
      >specifically, girls!!
People like you are why this board is garbage

Anyone who thinks you look silly will think you look mildly silly, anyone who gets really gets it. Of course there’s a time and a place for everything, it’s not a lack of courage that you probably wouldn’t dress like this at your job’s Christmas party. Unironically I think the best time to pull out fits like this is running errands like grocery shopping.

I thought tucking in your pants into your boots was a big no no on /fashion/

I’ve been here too long to have any idea what fa does or doesn’t like. Pinrolling jeans is a major no-no in my books but I’m neutral on tucking pants into boots. I was in cadets as a kid and we were taught to tuck the hems of our combat uniform into our boots. Most militaries do this, they call it blousing.

I would be asking yourself why you are even needing to find courage to go out like this in the first place. Is it because your ultimate desire is to impress people? If it is, I would absolutely find a different style because it would take a very special person to be able to pull this off. You could probably pull this off if you started playing music and studied avant-garde genres and eventually funneled your way into an experimental music scene. However, if you do not have any based skills or hobbies that people would appreciate and gravitate towards you for, then you’re just going to be perceived as a weirdo loser.

Pretty stupid. The art of fashion is filtering personal expressions through social norms, and flaunting them tastefully. This is just ridiculous. The body is not a blank canvas; work with what you have, both to the times and to your appearance.

Do you live in a city or a town of 500? As a country person, city people barely look at each other, and see other so called humans huffing paint etc. You might give someone a chuckle if they notice, or a smile as they think you look cool, but unless you get murdered for it it’s really a non issue.

  8. Anonymous says:

If I saw you I’d have a hearty chuckle. But I’d also smile because as silly as the getup is, you’re clearly doing your own thing and putting some effort into it, and I like that.
