beards are for gays and lesser men

clean shaven but only if you can pull it off, which is not possible for a good 80% of men

the ONLY time a beard is acceptable is if you are 40+ with longer hair, then a kingly beard will do, see pic

Depends how old you are. If you’re still a zoomer, clean-shaven is ok.

but if you’re older, it’s best to have some stubble, a mustache or a short beard.

a lot of /fashion/gs on here hate on guys with beards because they can’t grow one.

These threads always degenerate to "beards hide weak chins" vs "you just cant grow one". If in the small percentage of men who are blessed to have decent coverage and it looks clean then go for it – looks great and well done

Most guys with beards either have no business having beards or they grow those ridiculous bushy ones as some sort of cope masculine statement (but I’ll admit I hate fluffy fat guys with big beards)

which is a stupid argument because OP asked about any facial hair. Mustaches, short beards/goatees, and stubble don’t hide weak chins.

I agree about long bushy beards looking pathetic but OP didn’t ask about that specifically.

a lot of the salty zoomers posting on here can’t grow anything besides 4 wiry pubes above their upper lip which is why these threads always degenerate to shitfests.

I just think if you’re out of shape or unattractive facial hair isnt going to do much. The fella in your coomer picture would be good looking regardless of facial hair.

I would say to people just pick what you -know- you can or cant grow and stop projecting that shit onto other men.

I’ve maintained a short beard for three years, mainly because my gf likes it that way. I trim it every 1-2 weeks using a 4.5mm guard on the beard trimmer (Wahl #1 1/2) and keep my neck clean-shaven. If the beard gets much longer than that I start to feel grimy.

The idea of shaving it off kind of freaks me out at this point because I haven’t been clean-shaven for so long. Like it’s become a defining aspect of my identity.

Paul McCartney on beards: "One of the things about beards is that, when men reach a certain age, they’d like to see if they can grow one. It’s a phenomenon I understand very well… After you get over the itchy face, you go, ‘Oh, I don’t have to shave, that’s cool.’ And then you move into the philosophical thing– people say, ‘Oh, you look weird, you have a beard.’ And you say, ‘No, actually, it’s weird to shave.’ Having a beard is natural. When you think about it, shaving it off is quite weird. [laughs]"

generally, clean shaved, especially if you have dark hair – or you’ll look like a greasy kebab. sometimes an ebin viking metalhead beard looks alright on fair-haired people. also, nothing’s worse than a dark, legoman beard like that gay drake.
