My Boomer parents hate the fact I don't work all day outside if school. Despite me paying my own way, and paying rent, they get uppity I'm working on my car, playing videogames, golfing, shooting pool with friends etc. I'm never going to be able to retire so they can fuck off while I enjoy the small free time I have. Besides, now that they're retired, all they do is watch TV and walk. They have no hobbies, plenty of friends, money to spend, but instead nag me on Wednesday afternoon.

On 2nd thought, it occurred to me Boomer parents are jealous. They bought the "American dream" were told to get a good paying job and life would be dandy. I believe that I try to. whenever she's got a new meme diet I like to ask questions about it. When she was on keto I was asking her how she knew she was in ketosis and what she's eaten and stuff (she didn't know the signs of ketosis, furthering my suspicion that she doesn't really care all that much & just wants to identify with something she saw on the Internet). I like to ask her where her and my dad have traveled (iceland recently, good reviews from them) and what trails she'd hiked. I see my parents a lot so I get lots of opportunities to talk to them

okay cool, so it's not just me. I mean I like to talk about stuff I like of course, as does everyone, but I also want to learn about other people and the stuff they like and do.
