You mean boat shoes. Why are you calling them Sperry’s, that’s like calling a sneaker "adidas".
Also that’s a stupid question, it depends on the rest of your clothes.
There’s outfits (that include shorter pants) that work just fine with thick combat boots, then others that would look absolutely absurd, you get the idea.

Sweat and skin oils absolutely wreck your shoes, yes.
Same reason you should always give shoes at least one day to recover after wearing them. They need to air out, dry, and especially if it’s organic, like leather, the material needs to settle and relax after you put it through the wringer.
Alternating between two pairs of shoes day to day and wearing socks will easily triple to quadruple the "wear time" you get out of each pair.

Why? Sweat? Most of the time I wear no show socks though

also all the dead foot skin cells getting hecking everywhere in your shoes and starting to rot and mold and heck knows what

True, I’ll have to remember that. No show socks are good though right?

Yeah, just something between your skin and shoes to wick away moisture and catch oils/ dead skin.

…because that’s there most signature shoe and literally everyone knows what you mean when you say “sperrys”?
            >durr why do you say ‘kleenex’ and not ‘facial tissue?’
hecking pedantic stupid hecking subhuman heck

Sperry are kind of low quality and not very widely spread outside of the American frat "culture".
It really is the equivalent of calling every sneaker Nike just because they are the most "signature" maker in the US.

Oh look, I googled “sperry’s” and the only thing that popped up is their signature boat shoes. Weird how it didn’t give a diverse sampling of their entire catalog. It’s almost like every who knows what the sperry’s brand is intuitively understands that you can use the word in reference to this particular kind of shoe without needing to specify that it’s specifically boat shoes. hecking tryhard pseud

I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux,” and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.

Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
