Yes it is remarkably ugly but you have to understand that they made it ugly on purpose to shake things up, and they are very proud of its ugliness. A Shoe? That’s BORING. How about a deconstructed, daring, disruptive, re-imagined, re-mixed, turned on its head upside down and backwards anti-sensibility shoe? Now that’s something! Does it look good? Well, don’t ask that. That wasn’t the point.

there are now shoes with clashing trapezoids on them where once no such a thing existed. also there’s not as much nepotism as you might think going on in fashion

yes, it has some strange features on purpose, just go for a simple design without the intentional unusual look like Adidas’ Campus 80.
Also, don’t pay the ridiculously high prices but wait till you can get them on sale for half the price.

        >That is actually uglier than the OP, impressive.
no, it’s simple and universal, no crazy designs to invoke the feeling of ugliness.

        >when mom says we have gazelles at home

        >>when mom says we have gazelles at home
gazelles are seldom on sale, campus 80’s are frequently sold at 50€, which is still expensive but okay if you want a brand and have some nostalgia for a model that has a history of 40+ years.
Otherwise, buy a simple looking sneaker for much cheaper.

          >no, it’s simple and universal
it’s simple but it’s also uncanny.
it looks like a child’s shoe but with some sort of infection that swole it up to a grown man’s size.

how to argue against a subjective viewpoint? just keep on believing it, i have no intention to convert you from wearing pixie shoes and other crazy designs.

it’s too simple to look childish, usually childish implies having a lot of strange, unnecessary gimmicks and a design that goes too far off the shape of the feet.

i did not say "childish", which according to you is a very 1990s Nickelodeon sentiment.
I said "child’s shoe" as in a real shoe made for children.
they are puffy and bulbous because the layers of thick material used for shoes do not conform easily to the small size required.

It’s neither simple nor universal for a sneaker. The shoe you posted is black and white so it will stand out and have more contrast than most natural colored shoes. The shape is a platypus of different shoes combined into one, with a flat bottom from a converse, a sporty back of a basketball shoe, and a toe from an outdated dress shoe. A cardboard box is a simple shape but it would stand out if I wore them for shoes, same for what you posted, it’s very unorthodox compared to what most people wear as sneakers.

          tldr: ugly hecking shoes

Completely delusional contrarianism. They are totally unnoticeable normies shoes.

“Umm are these steel toes boots and visibility vests /fashion/??”

Not to take the attention away from OP’s question but I feel like this would be the appropriate place to chirp in with my thoughts. Been looking at these red hot Nike Tuned 3’s which are on sale. What’s /fashion/ verdict on these kicks? I’m looking for something sporty and flash but would these be overkill because they’re almost just purely red.

that random section of blue that messes with the swoosh and connects to the sole is a real eyesore, like what is even the function of it
