Cheating bc this was from like a month ago, too warm to wear the jacket now. U can’t see them but I was wearing black boots.

Weird mix of academia and jogger, doesn’t really match but I dig the colors.

Bro, none of your clothes fit correctly at all. You are literally wearing the wrong size in every piece of clothing you have on, dude. It legit looks horrible and cringe. The reason for this is that women’s clothing is engineered to fit an average women’s skeletal frame which is COMPLETELY different than an average man’s skeletal frame. I tried on my girlfriend’s flannel once for a laugh and I was legit surprised at how piss poorly it fitted me. It was a women’s XL and the sleeves were halfway up my arms, the shoulders were way too tight and the chest was way too big. Seriously dude, you look like a linebacker in heels, just stop doing this, it will improve your personal life, because obviously you don’t go out in public looking the way you do my man.
Well Fitting: 0/10 (Wrong size in everything)
Fashionable: 1/10 (Retro style but boring AF)
        Color 1/10: (Boring)
        Total Score: 2/30
        Grade: Fail

      Love everything but the boots

anons about how the cowboy boots style is abit incongruous/distracting (although black). I would either, a) switch out the cowboy boots for Chelsea boots or black Oxfords (cap toe or brogue) to complete an /fashion/ black minimal Urban look, or b) switch the belt to a more Western – style with silver cowboy buckle to create stylistic coherence. I always appreciate your trendy urbane and preppy fits my /fit – lit – fa/ dude. <3

I think the idea of announcing something at the start of a new thread isn’t bad, like "next thread wear color X" should be viable. The trouble comes in when people decide they don’t like a current thread based on whatever schizo reasoning they’ve decided to roll with today, and then decide to make new "better" threads themselves. You think someone making a new thread because there were satanic trannies in the old one is going to carry over collaboration instructions? heck no.

I was reading another thread an anon was critiquing WAYWT saying there’s no real point to it. There’s minimal critique of fits, instead anons just insult the posters rather than the clothes. Often times when genuinely good critique is given it’s ignored or disparaged. Many regular posters stop posting because they get bullied for being recognizable and posting, and the regulars that remain and post frequently pretty much end up posting the same shit over and over. Not saying personal style is bad, it’s just that I can pretty much guess what certain people will wear from one day to another.

I like posting here, there’s a freedom that we take for granted here that isn’t available at Reddit or anywhere else really, and I think it’s being squandered. If you could do anything you wanted to improve WAYWT what would it be? Please don’t go on a sperg rant about trannies, stick to things that can actually be done.

I’d like to get posters that wear the same styles all the time to occasionally try something new, maybe a collaborative day where someone picks an item of clothing and anons try and incorporate it into fits. Like chambray, give a week to plan and then people wear chambray in their fits and we get to see different takes on a common item. Would anyone be interested in trying something like that?

        >Mr. Bald is already doing that on r/MFA

That means you’re on Reddit too if you see that shit normies get out reeeeeeeeeee

For real though I get your point, but I also kind of think he’s on to something. I’m not saying we start sucking each other off like Reddit, but you are right: There’s no sense of community here but logically there should be. Core groups of people come and contribute, if we try and build off that maybe we can get some community going.

I’ll be blunt: I love fashion, I just want to talk to other people about fashion. I can’t handle reddit politics, if Dr Evil can keep from sperging out over there and actually build something good for him. But there’s no where to really go to talk about the shit I like. Styleforum/Askandyaboutclothes/Fedora lounge are for geriatrics, stylish geriatrics though, I respect that. I haven’t found any good fashion forums that are good for what I like, so why not try and build something here? If I can get actual dialogue and discussion going, I have to try. Imagine getting to the level where people get excited for new releases, discuss it in advance, go out and actually buy the shit then come back here and show items from a Lookbook off in real world settings? I think that’s achievable without turning into an updoot circle jerk like reddit.
I just like clothes man and I don’t know where to go in the real world to meet like-minded people to discuss shit. I’m 25, I dressed like shit in college till my senior year so I missed my chances there. My mates just care about dressing to get laid, they’re basically the embodiment of sexcore. Why not make something here?

        • Anonymous says:

          >Core groups of people come and contribute
The "core" is always a changing set of people. It is hard to build any sense of community with a revolving door core. Reddit may be full of normies but normies are good at building and maintaining communities. /fashion/ and its aloof counterculturist visitors will never have that level of cohesion.

          • Anonymous says:

You’re right and I hate to admit it. Bro I just want to talk about clothes without having to bend the new to leftist politics aka posting on Reddit, why is this so hard?

            >The "core" is always a changing set of people. It is hard to build any sense of community with a revolving door core.
Not necessarily. There are plenty of examples of community in /fashion/’s history. The sticky was put together by board members, we all got together to send Rick a birthday email, there were meetups and meetup memes, generations of tripgay drama, and a whole period with board-tans and /fit/x/fashion/x/cgl/ shipping that produced some good memes, etc
The issue is that this board is tiny and slow compared to what it used to be, which is in large part due to the fact that fashion has been fragmented by the internet into tiny ‘subcultures’ with no culture- just surface level collections of different pieces glued together in postmodern amalgams for the instant consumption and gratification of an online audience. Nobody but autists is on fashion boards anymore- they’ve all migrated to discord/tiktok/ig

You’re right and I hate to admit it. Bro I just want to talk about clothes without having to bend the new to leftist politics aka posting on Reddit, why is this so hard?

            >why is this so hard?
Because progressivsm is an eschatological ideology that can’t stop until its utopia (which is always right around the corner) is realized. And though that vision is total, some parts of it (ideological dominance of small cultural niches) are much easier to achieve than others (like closing the wealth gap or abolishing borders), which is why so many libshits have made it their mission to infest every single hobby outside of binge drinking with their dumb ideas.

            […]

I’m not opposed to themed waywt, but it should be announced a few threads in advance and should always be mentioned in the first post. It might be also be good to borrow ideas from other generals and do a questions every thread. Something like
            >why did you wear this?
            or
            >how did you put the outfit together?

it’s not the number, it’s the perception depth (I’m sure there’s an actual gaygy term for this). The shirt seems as if it’s over the jacket because it has a more powerful colour, it’s like antilayering. If the jacket was bright pink instead of pastel it wouldn’t look that bad in this way, probably in others though.
As for colours, do what works for you. I don’t use pink or red because they don’t work with my pale skin, but green gets me tons of compliments for matching with my blue eyes

Reddit may be full of normies but normies are good at building and maintaining communities. /fashion/ and its aloof counterculturist visitors will never have that level of cohesion.

Memes can still last generational thread users. I’ve been coming in and out of /fashion/ for a decade now.

i dont post on /waywt/ because I reached a point where i know how to dress myself, and don’t care the opinion of 99% of the posters on this board.
a good place to start would be normalizing listing brands worn

I mean that’s a great time to post? I would argue the point of waywt isn’t to receive criticism, it’s to show what you’re wearing. Sometimes people give terrible advice or simply have no idea what they’re talking about. Being self assured I’m your fits is good and I’d like to see that. Brand listing feels like clout chasing, if someone is interested in a piece they can ask.

It’s very basic, i would like to see more personal taste

Great job posting your own fit to show how it’s done.

Excellent, what kind of loafers are those?

    […]
    >Mr. Bald is already doing that

Yep, did one for recreating Drake’s lookbooks; doing another that’s wrapping up next month centering around darker color palettes with summer fabrics that are traditionally light colored.
Frankly I think any degree of collaboration here is impossible due the nature of the system at the users themselves. With no way to privately message to follow up or coordinate the logistics of contact, follow up and even timing of the post is challenging here.

You think someone making a new thread because there were satanic trannies in the old one is going to carry over collaboration instructions? heck no.

This may be pessimistic but I don’t see anything possible short of coordinating outside of the thread and at that case what’s the point?
    >Today’s fit part 1.

    Seersucker and bright colors.

I feel the shoe choice bogs down the bottom of your fit, everything is light and breezy and then you just have stones for shoes. It’s Not bad probably just my personal bias

following up a discord would be good, if one of the other regulars makes it and posts a link they could just vet people who join w a pic of their closet w a timestamp

I’m always down for a discord

with the scattershot way my wardrobe evolves its really something special when a bunch of items i bought with no intention of combining end up going together so well you could swear they were all hand-picked to go together.

also, balloon suspenders, because it was my birthday a day ago! i’m 20 now.

i really just hecking love pretty colors and patterns

That sounds cool Doug, please take a pic when that happens. You’re getting better though. Tie matches the shirt, shirt matches jacket, that’s improvement.

homeschooled and never developed a work ethic or sense of initiative enough to work out, blood condition primed me to never get into sports

but i’m going to get better. I’m gonna try to be less of a pasty ghoul and get a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. it’s gonna be a slow uphill battle though, i’ve got a diamond mountain to chisel away here. it don’t matter as long as i never give up or stop moving.

idk if half of these posts are memes or not as I dont usually frequent /fashion/ but I literally look better than 95% of you and dress better than 90% of you

Physique is good, anyone can see that, but the clothes are boring, i guess its better than the worst of the thread but it doesnt look notably good either

            >Physique is good, anyone can see that
always a joy to hear it
I have a VERY golden retriever-like character, and used to be class clown a decade ago when I was in school kek but I still carry it to some extent with some old and very close acquaintances, and I’m still the center of attention usually especially after a drink or two so adopting a "boring" trend was intentional, it pulls me back a bit and evens my cheerful personality

            okay you do look OK

            cheers lad

Lmfao greetings from Norway, you’re a hecking manlet in the Netherlands. The utter arrogance is what confused me, I thought what’s the point of coming to a thread and then announcing you don’t like it rather than just leaving?

Now it makes sense: Little man complex.

/fashion/ coherent earthtone themed fit with tone-on-tone tan tee (tee is abit too baggy + long imo but with warm washing and low-temp tumble dry it should shrink slightly) and tan cargo shorts, and really like the pop of design and colors in the Nikes as grounding and contrast element.

      >sort out the gut if you can, get into hats
I’m a middle aged hebrew, the gut isn’t a bug it’s a feature as I evolve into my final corpulent form. I am working on losing weight, I have no excuse and need to fix that.
The bald issue is very divisive here. I’ve worn flat caps and porkpies many times and the reception is mixed. Some people say I look good, others labelled it as cope. When I’m bald however one anon gets absolutely assblasted about me being bald. It’s hilarious, he spergs the heck out to the point I have to assume he was sodomized by a fat bald man during his formative years. So I’ve been keeping the head exposed for a while just to make him seethe.
What sort of brimmed hat would you recommend?
In defense of the jeans, they are Lee jeans from the early 90s, back when they were made in the US, so they’re older than most of the anons posting here and they’re comfortable. They won’t be my workhorse pair.

      […]

Wait are you the guy saying my jeans were Walmart tier? Our jeans are very similar cuts just different shades, I’m going to need an explanation on this one.

      >Plantation owner drip
Thank you, seersucker is god tier in warm weather, ranks up their with linen. I don’t know why more anons don’t try it out in the heat, cost wise it’s relatively inexpensive too. Added bonus of being wrinkled by design so you don’t have to worry about it.

I only have these cuffed because i was wearing them with no shoes in the house and didn’t want them to get dirty. But I kept it because I kind of like the thick cuff. Probably would uncuff if going out.
