the contrast between their runway pieces and the diffusion line stuff most people buy is hilarious

at least their fragrances are good though, the most experimental and out-there designer fragrance line probably

Which ones have you tried so far?

I’ve sampled Serpentine, Tar and Garage, they were all dope.
Also tried Odeur 71 and 53, but can’t remember which one was better.

I own CDG 2011 (the brown Scotch tape & Industrial glue one) and it’s kinda weird but also nice, my gf uses it at times.

    Thoughts on play?
Pretty much basics with a heart logo.
Personally I rather wear something without the logo, but hating play is totally overblown

i miss 2013 when my instagram explore page was full of Korean women in CDG play cardigans and APC half moon bags

this, the only reason Play was made was to be commercial and fund the rest of the CDG Universe and for that i respect the brand

Play is just a money farming line to help fund the rest of the business. Still the most consistent house across a number of genres. The second hand market for it is amazing as well if you’re not dumb enough to fall for Grailed resellers; bountiful unique clothes available frequently for under $100 USD. I’ve also found that their clothes are extremely modular. You can choose randomly from a pile of CDG stuff and put it on, then as long as it more or less fits you, you’ll look good. I would kill for Noir Kei in men’s sizes

Play is actually kind of fun, people only shit on it because it’s a popular accessible way to buy some kind of CDG. Sure, we all know it’s a diffusion line and most the shit is no better than 80% of "designer" gear produced in the same factories with some logo slapped on, but the cons were cute and had a lot of people interested in them for while, I imagine most people who hate it would enjoy them if they weren’t popular, which is the exact reason they got popular in the first place.

The Play line gets hate for no reason. The clothes are well crafted and fit nicely. Most of it is still made in Japan while some other CDG lines moved the production too Portugal and Turkey.
