      ~19 BMI here; I don’t honestly believe you can. There’s people who pay thousands to be imprisoned and forced onto a smoothie diet, and in doing so you can reset your metabolic stimuli. That is, resetting how much food your body expects to receive. I believe there’s a baseline level determined by your genetics and a lifetimes habits though, and you can only slightly influence your habits through extreme effort. By way of constructive advice, I’d advocate for finding new sources of dopamine and serotonin, ideally focused around hard work and effort. If you’re obsessively hiking 10 miles to get to a creek which might have sapphires in it, and then spending a day digging in a river, and a night sleeping semi rough before hiking back again… you’re gonna lose and weight and hopefully not fixate on food making you feel better.

      Living off of bread and shit like 99% of people in the West spikes and crashes your insulin, making your body have intense cravings. If you get on a high protein/animal fat and lower carb/sugar diet, you’ll gradually get hungrier over the course of hours instead of crashing and feeling shakey. I’ve gone full days just busy with other things and entirely forgetting to eat, its way easier once you get used to it.

      Looking at weight (fat) loss from a caloric restriction/TDEE stance exclusively is theoretically completely acceptable, but not practical alone in practice for many. That isn’t to say it doesn’t work, but that the diet itself; the nutrition and macro profile of what you eat, matters more than people give credit, and so does meal frequency. Many conventional diet schemes recommend eating several times a day, especially with things like fruits and salads. Realistically, a diet with a greater leaning on proteins and fats and fewer frequency of meals will be best for mitigating hunger, thus reducing the probability of overeating, snacking/""rewarding"", and so on. So, shift your diet to eat more proteins/fats, maintain hydration, and eat one or two times a day. Your natural level of hunger will abate over time.

Abdominal exercises like planks and stomach vacuums, basic push-ups, squats, and so on are all easy to do and not going to induce a huge deal of muscular development alone unless you went very hard into it, which I highly doubt you will do.

      Weight loss to reduce fat mass in your trunk if excessive. Stomach vacuums. Squats and frog pump exercises to develop muscle mass to fill in your lower body. You can try to fill up your latissimus muscles with exercises targetting those if you want a more balanced appearance, but if just waist, not so necessary. However, keep in mind that developing muscle on a caloric deficit is rather ineffective; muscular develop first or after fat loss, even while maintaining to an extent, but not during.

          To an extent. Additional mass below may certainly give the impression of a thinner waist by contrast. It will also prevent no-ass syndrome so you don’t look like Hank Hill. It ties together your appearance from other exercises so you aren’t left with an imbalance.

          I will emphasize the importance of stomach vacuums and light outer abdominal muscle exercises for your goal. They will bring your central portions in more, but that is something you will need to attend to daily over a prolonged period of time to see results from. Said results can be quite profound if you are consistent. If you want to see a well-known example, The Hungarian Experiment is a decent one:

          Neither of these things take a long time out of your day. Genetics play a roll in what you start with, but you can do well with my basic points I’ve presented. Just don’t eat like shit. You neer protein and calories to build muscle, so at least maintain your TDEE while doing this.

      Hey man, idk if you’re still here, but I think I cracked the code a couple days ago.

      We have so much dessert and food just out on the table. I reached for a brownie and then something just clicked. It’s A-OK to be hungry. For me, I get hunger pangs after a 6-8pm dinner around 11 or 12, or at least I thought I did- I would eat something further.

      that night, I resolved to NOT do that.

      The next morning, I didn’t feel as hungry. I had a dinner of just a bowl of steak cubes, totaled at 1,300kcal for the day, and I realized I wasn’t feeling as hungry.

      Now, even when I get hungry, I’m aware that I don’t need to eat. I just swore off every single sweet or dessert, and I’m counting calories.

      Try to get some “self awareness” in the sense of the shame your body brings to you and internalize it. You need to experience for yourself that you’re overeating, you need to eat less, and most importantly you *CAN LIVE* doing so.

      Hunger is just a hormone stupid. If you wait it out, ~20-30mins, your body will turn it off. Cravings are mental, thats on you to deal with, don’t have toddler IQ. The key either way is just to distract yourself until it passes.

Let yourself feel hunger without eating right away. You’re just acting compulsively like an animal. You need to use your human willpower and higher mental capacities to get control of your automatically-feeding animal body. Hunger doesn’t mean you *have* to eat. Learn to deal with the unpleasantness. It’s not that bad.

        have u heard for freezing fat? like coolsculpting. well turns out you can kind of do it at home with an ice pack. you need to have literal thick skin tho bc if you don’t you’ll give yourself frost bite. just place and ice pack on your stomach for and hour or two. wrap it in cloth if it makes it easier but without a cloth is better. I did this while in a caloric deficit so my stomach did shrink but I’m not sure if the ice pack helped target the fat. the skin on my stomach turned a bit crepey so I’d assume it was the ice pack. Do some research bc it can work but it depends. I probably did it for a month like once or twice everyday it goes away if u gain weight also. they sell ice pack belts specifically for this

      Nothing is going to make you look buff if you aren’t at a calorie surplus
      Weight/resistance training will help you preserve existing muscle while cutting and look more toned, but you won’t get big if you aren’t eating big.

      It’s easy to just say to ‘stop’ or "eat less", and obviously, that is the direct answer to dropping weight. However, seeing as you are so heavily inclined to binging and eating to excess, a more practical option is to first observe how and why you respond as you do. That is,

      Consider if you are using food as a method of displacing discomfort or distress, whatever the kind. Consider alternative practices to reduce these issues. I prefer meditation and playing an instrument, as well as supplementing L-theanine.

      If you eat a lot of carbs/sugars, especially frequently, you will be spiking your insulin frequently. This results in the release of ghrelin, which influences your sense of hunger/satiety. Shifting to a diet with more proteins and fats, consumed once or twice a day will reduce hunger compared to blasting chocolate. Caffeine acts as an appetite suppressant for many, and being beverages almost devoid of calories makes them useful for weight management.

      Also in 16 bmi if you eat your stomach bloats so makes that dip stomach dip shape. Cannot escape biology and our gut has its own mind. When restricting that helps I can use the bloat to restrict more

In real life it is bloodless and void. Dull eyes, dull hair, tiredness, depression, anxiety, insomnia, obsession, restriction. Devastating on every level.       I don’t think most people here plan to drop to such a low BMI, to be fair. I was at my lowest at 5’7", 98 lbs, and I’ve been in recovery for a few years now. I don’t recall much of how I actually looked back then, honestly. Depression and anxiety had led to my anorexia. I hadn’t been chasing a petite girl aesthetic.

      But last year I took up weight training and bulked from 117 (the weight I hovered around after recovery), to 125. Now I’ve cut back down to 114 lbs at this moment. I’m not done cutting yet, but right now I’ve never felt more confident about how I look. I do plan to cut lower, maybe down to 110 lbs at the lowest. It’s very manageable, even though the restriction and cravings do nag at me. I’m willing to put up with all of that to have a body that I love.

    115 lbs, 5’9". Trying to get down to 110, but I still need at least 100g of protein in my diet. Fitting all of that into 1000 calories a day is rough. I just made an absolutely nasty egg white omelet with shredded up lunch meat. Ate it 2 hours ago and I still feel like I’m about to puke. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten.

    But seeing my weight drop makes it all worth it.

      If you did more lateral exercises, like pull ups, rows and pull downs you can get a nice v taper. Ngl you can probably get some nice gains quickly.
      The first thing I notice is how wide your hips are in comparison to you chest. Youre definitely cut and thin tho

      I lost 50 pounds in 2 months, trying to lose another 25 this month.
      Intermittent fasting on weekends, running 3 miles a day and some weight lifting, only eating healthy. I don’t think I did much else
      Do not stray from the path.

        How do I lose 50lbs as fast as possible so I can become underweight? I have been dieting for like a year with good progress, both using fasting and calorie restriction. I’m just tired of dieting, and tired of being fat despite being a """normal""" bmi.

        I just want a short period of exertion, so I can be done.

        Yeah I went from 22.5 bmi to 18 in around 2.5 months via 48-72 hr fasts and daily cardio. At my current weight (6’1 127 lbs) I can no longer fast that long and keep up the exercise, so I’m doing mostly OMAD and sometimes 48 hr fasts.

      I was prescribed zoloft for major depression and it made me gain a lot of weight so I stopped taking it. In my opinion, depression is the easiest to manage without meds.

    hi, "recovered" from 6′ and 83 lbs at my lowest. now im 200 lbs and on a eugenics cocktail of medication. how do i get back into starving myself again? pls reply quick, i go back to the mental asylum where i live in a half hour….. they force us to eat terrible food three times a day and everyone else who lives there is obese. pls help

        The problem with meds is that it will heck up your gut microbiome which = mental health and metabolic ability.

        You burning ability is mainly controlled by breathing and gut microbiome health.
        So what you need to do now is whenever you eat just eat things that are good for your gut. Always and forever. Also dry fasting (only last).

    This is no muscles flexed, no angle fraud, I’m at the point where none of that matters anymore. But yes I love core exercises. But my stomach and legs have most of the remaining fat I hate it

    not hungry and dont have cravings anymore but i am still not losing weight?? withdrawing from prozac as well as depo provera rn
    if i just keep fasting and drinking coffee will i eventually get thinner??
    if i get thinner will i look better?? i dont feel aany better about myself after losing 50 lbs and my body looks weird now :((
