I agree, he’s perpetually stuck in the already dated look of looking like a homeless person while your outfit costs several thousand dollars.
Nowadays city NPCs all dress the same, a combination of mismatched thrifted/DIY clothes with some designer pieces sprinkled in along with expensive shoes. The weird thing is that despite having unique pieces they all look the same in a way.

The worst one are definitely people like the Frugal Aesthetics manlet, because on top of adopting that shitty homeless designer style he’s Mr Internet Irony man, his style remain the same done to death post-ironic bullshit that basically goes along the lines of ‘Yeah I look like shit and I’m aware of it, but I also kinda like it’ which they believe somehow shields them from any criticism because they can’t be accused of being silly (because it’s not completely sincere) or of excessive irony induced cynicism (because it’s also somehow sincere). The end result is that clown

I get this but what is /fashion/ now?
Its recession in the world now so I bet some post-post-minimalism. But I have no idea how should it looks. Any suggestions?

i think this is true but at the same time if this guy has been really interested about fashion and he still goes for black skinny jeans that’s who he is, he’s sincere about it.
what actually bothers me is he doesn’t follow the number 1 rule about fashion and that is not being fat like is not that hard just stop eating like a pig

I prefer him over Daniel Simmons and the other minimalist cucks.

Not saying that he looks great, but he looks like an actual person who lives an actual life, not a poser who puts a napkin on his chair at the restaurant because he’s wearing white linen pants.

So you need to be dirty and stained to be a ‘real’ person?

It’s ok to be into fashion and all, but once you wear the clothes you should just live in them, and not be a fancy Nancy being scared of wallking with your white Common projects or whatever.
Showing that you care about your clothes that much shows that you are insecure and womanly.

He’s wearing what he enjoys which is something to strive for. He’s just having fun with his hobby.
It’s not like his channel depends on him having conventionally good fits, it depends on his personality and humor.

you’ve got to admit it’s a little funny that he clowns on different styles so much even though he himself dresses like shit most of the time

      • Anonymous says:

I don’t even think he really clowns on styles very often, and when he does he’s just having fun. For the most part I’m not offended by his fits, and it seems like he does have actual intention in what he puts together.
I really don’t understand why he gets so much hate on this board. He’s funny and makes interesting videos.

Because being le ironic internet man has way overstayed its welcome and is plain pitiful now
          >he’s funny
2014 LULZ humor with shitty wojaks slapped on isn’t funny

          • Anonymous says:

If you actually watch his videos you’ll see he isn’t even really using old head LULZ humor. He’s genuinely witty and you can tell he makes his jokes up on the fly rather than having jokes that he falls back on like a lot of people irl. The only thing LULZ-y is his thumbnails having wojaks, but that’s a good portion of fashion Youtube weirdly. Not really sure what’s up with that, but it’s definitely a thing.

his persona is grating. he speaks and behaves like a 16 year old who’s just discovered twitter
and he dresses like that too. either really basic shit like black skinny jeans, vans and a hoodie or some ugly mismatched streewear

I guess if you find his personality annoying that’s on you, I can’t really change your opinion there. As a 27 year old who’s been watching Youtube consistently since 2008, he is one of my comfort channels that I can just throw on in the background. These days I only really have a handful of channels that I consistently watch regularly, and he’s one of them.
It’s just genuinely well made and entertaining.

Damn you have some low standards

That’s a great take, especially about what passes as fashionable right now (in terms of people into fashion, not in terms of the average person).

And completely right on this being a coping mechanism for him – it’s basically finding a way to appear not to play a game where he knows he was unfortunately genetically predetermined to lose (looking good), but still playing it.

I have not seen one good outfit from this site either. I come here for the maymays, same goes for that man, he’s just funny.

because he is fat, uncreative, uninteresting, unfunny, and uninformed.
Who could forget some of his CLASSIC videos such as
    >10 FASHION TIPS I WISH I KNEW EARLIER
    >WHAT YOUR STYLE SAYS ABOUT YOU IN 2022
    >THIS IS THE HOTTEST STYLE OF 2022
    >THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR STYLE
Actual video titles. This is not someone with anything noteworthy to say.

i always wonder how you people find these sorts of losers and they’re known enough that other people respond
i’d hate to see some of your guys’ youtube suggestions holy shit

      • Anonymous says:

this guy has 1.5 million subscribers. if you’ve watched any fashion related video, he’ll appear in your suggestions at some point

his jokes are too much and they drag on for way too long without being funny and his varying ways of shilling products is also irritating. his fashion takes are very digestible though and he says a lot of relatable things about being a consumer, he’s also generally quite unpretentious and snarky in a ‘wholesome’ way, which is pretty uncommon anywhere but especially in fashion circles
he toes a line between those who want to look ‘cool’ and those who are into fashion as an artform. his jokes about being 40 pages deep into the ssense sale and too much fashion content online giving people identity crises etc are all things people have said for over a decade, but i can see why people watch him.
i think a lot of fashion youtubers are popular because most people cannot keep up with what is actually hot at the moment, there’s rarely that *one* thing that seemingly everybody knows about anymore, like what is the 2023 equiv of biker jeans, shitty t shirts with stars or Rottweilers on them or a teddy jacket? of course the teddy jacket is still a bit of a thing and not a total product of its time like the others i mentioned, but its a nearly decade old item at this point
