I like the look of these Red Wing boots… are they a brand worth the price? Are there any similar boots available that you would recommend?

They’re good, watch the rose anvil review
are there any competitors you would recommend over red wing ?
>listening to this gay rose
>posting an image with gay workwear larpers
shiggy
do you think the red wing boots go well with a more neofolkish style?
I mean those boots are ok, good luck finding them, just don’t waste your time watching rose anvil cuz he’s a shill and do not larp as the pic of that guy. If you’re trying a neofolk style maybe check out some suede boots from grant stone, carmina, meermin and be ready to have them in top condition, it’ll look much better than beat up shoes every single time
These guys look like actual gays
Looks like a good bunch of lads who’d suck your dick then talk to you about Karl Marx in a cafe and voting Democrat after the progressive candidate drops out, then sucking your dick again.
Rose Anvil is a hipster gay who should never be taken seriously.
Rose Anvil is a cringy soiboi hipster who makes clickbait sponsor-of-the-day videos
Who gives a shit what he says?
I have both, IR and Mocs, and they are worth every penny. The only similar boots close to IR’s price range and style are their Blacksmiths. If you save a couple of a hundred bucks then you’d look into allen’s. Just don’t larp like those gays, you’ll look ridiculous.
t.electrician.
HeyBeen happy with my oak street bootmakers trench boots. Those guys own a boutique in Chicago, so I paid full price, but there are good sales occasionally. Very soft leather
are Thursday boots decent? how do they compare to the iron rangers?
no they’re worse. Just spend the money for something good
any other brands I should take a look at besides red wing?
>Thursday
Lol don’t make me post it
if the ir looks like a clown shoe and the thursdays are low quality, what is the alternative if you don’t want a doc marten looking boot like solovair?
W H I T E S
Whites. Nicks are just a ripoff of Whites so might as well just get the real thing
Please post it
holy heck, dont get thrusdays
>Thursday boots decent?
No
is it possible to have a comfortable leather boot setup in the summer? or just go with breathable hiking boots?
im a poorgay and dont into shoes, just have a pair of boots and 2 old sneakers. i go out less these days but i destroyed my last pair of boots because i wore them continuously in the summer and basocally didnt take care of them.
any summer/fall boot reccomendations to pair woth jeans/dark pants?
Whites Smoke jumpers.
Just leather and sole.
>But muh feet hurt in them.
You gonna be a b***h and let your feet win?
anything cheaper? in the 350usd or lower range
If you upper limit is 350 why not just spend the extra 50 bucks?
is solovair the name of the brand that’s supposedly selling the original handmade doc martens?
maybe look at them.
Don’t, solovair are pretty shit. Believe what everyone is telling, I have a few pairs and I really wish I didn’t, the leather is shit, the construction is shit and there’s nothing there to make it a 200 dollar boot
what would have chosen instead
Rw ir or saved up for a pair of vibergs
Solovairs are still twice as good as Doc Martins in my opinion.
two times zero is still zero stupid
>solovair
>doc martens
sorts of shit
they do not even have a shank or real stitching
Anyone have experience with Grant Stone? I wanted a pair of RW Blacksmiths but they’re on backorder till supply chains unheck themselves, and I like the look of picrel.
Alternatively I could cop IRs but I’m wary of the clown shoe meme.
is the clown shoe meme why people buy a size down
what’s the consensus position on ir vs blacksmith
ir = work boot, can be worn around town
bs = dressier boot
is the clown shoe shit legit, is it that noticeable with the ir?
a bit yes, one of my friends own a pair and he told me he can never wear slim jeans with IRs since his feet look huge and clowny
what boots would you get instead
Not sure since I’m not a big heritage boot guy. I wear blundstones most of the time since that’s what we were issued a work a couple of years ago and I liked them
Holy heck yes. It’s so bad. I have big feet already. The IR makes mine look stupid big and clown. IR are for footlets.
so what would you get instead??
I wear 8 so not at all. If you wear shit like 11> and slim/skinny jeans you’ll look hecking awful. Just hecking trying them on and see yourself. If you don’t like them return them (if you can find them kek)
What do you wear yours with?
>ir
clown
>blacksmith
superb
They’re the same hecking shape. Blacksmith just has no toe cap and a rolled edge
they are pretty all right, if you dont mind them being made in china, supposedly they are free of defects but i´ve seen videos of people resoling them and refurbishing them and they seem all right, hope you live in a country where you dont get extra taxed for importing shoes from china, otherwise i dont know how much you might end up paying… i´m afraid of buying those because the tariffs for that hs code in specific ranges from 20 to 200% so i dont want to risk it, there´s plenty of good bootmakers out there
and yes, size down on the redwings
I only had experience on work boots.
>Keens
Should be avoided in my opinion bought two pairs both gave out within a year. Relatively cheap at least.
>Vasque
Only worn the St. Elias FG GTX and is my current work book. They are water proof which is nice. Boot doesnt feel too heavy and is still holding up to constant daily use after over a year and a half. Price wise isnt bad either your looking at about 170-220$ depending on where you can source them.
>Carolinas
I have had pretty good luck with Carolinas. Lots of options and features to choose from. My go to pair was a 6" Bruno model. Insole was comfortable but after about a year and a half got pretty ratty and should of been replaced. Very much waterproof. You can easily stand in a 4" puddle and still be fine for quite awhile made fishing nice. Eventually the front sole became loose and that was the end of the boot. Price wise a good deal looking at around 130-170$ which is a steal for a quality boot. Lasted about 2 years before needing replaced.
>Timberlands
make some decent boots you gotta be careful though a lot are just ~~*streetwear*~~ and not meant to actually be used in a working environment. Pricewise your looking at around 130-200$ so pretty cheap.
check out these boots i got
Traditional Finnish footwear ripoff. This tragic moment of cultural appropriation shall not be forgotten!
has anyone owned thursday boots? are they worth it or should one look at a different brand?
The MiUSA vanguards are fine. I have a pair in indigo and they’re solid beaters. Can’t speak to their other boots.
Picrel are mine btw. 7mo of on and off wear, a few camping trips, and a messy basement remodel under their belt.
I have a pair of their knockoff Indys. Look good but the quality is shit.
Anyone have good pics of aged natural chromexel?
There are some OSB field boots on sale and I’m torn between natural and black
If it ain’t White’s it ain’t right
I have never seen a fit with Red Wings which didn’t scream "programmer"
Would Galways be a bad idea to wear while summiting a mountain?
>Olympus
you should get a more rugged sole
where can I get a nice, decent chukka boot in black leather with the thin sole that ships to europe?
I’ve been wearing asos the last 10 years but they don’t make them anymore
Cheap? Astorflex. They’re incredibly good for the price.
>Cheap?
not necesserily, I just want it to look a specific way
get John Does
sneed
No, from what I saw they’re not worth what they want for them.
I’ve got some William Lennon boots (they’re in the UK, as am I) that cost £85 less and are literally custom made for you in a small factory in the countryside.
Related, a few months ago when I ordered somebody asked me to report back when I got them. They have arrived and so far they’re quite nice. I’m going to post them in future boot threads after I’ve got a bit more use out of them.
Post pics of your William Lennon boots; I never see them!
CAN SOMEONE GIVE AN ALTERNATIVE TO THURSDAY CAPTAIN (BUT SIMILAR) FOR LESS THAN $400 USD?
Idk what any of these guys are saying. I’ve had the captains for 2 years and loved them. Wore them till the sole ripped. That should tell you what you want to know. Great shoe imo but doesn’t last longer than 2 or 3 years
A few Truman boots and Junkard
>ALTERNATIVE TO THURSDAY CAPTAIN
rw williston
boots look cool
Any good European made boots similar to Red Wing or Thursday’s ?
Trickers
It’s leather
Thanks Anon
May your harvest be bountiful
>European made boots similar to Red Wing or Thursday’s
Urban Shepherd
Good health to you Anon
The Red Wing boots I bought weren’t water resistant for shit, and I had to wax them which darkened the color
who cares? they’re designed to be waterproof. if you want actually waterproof boots then get something designed for it
Might get some WW1/WW2 Repro boots:
Thoughts?
timbs or nothing deadass
