In the wild, they have been observed committing infanticide, not merely to eliminate competition but sometimes for apparent sport. Raised in captivity and treated like a pet, the male chimpanzee had been socialized to human ways, yet when he attacked his owner’s friend, Charla Nash, he did so with an almost demonic ferocity. He ripped off her hands, tore away her face, and left her so unrecognizable that even experienced medical professionals were traumatized by the aftermath. He methodical destroyed her features — gnawing off her nose, eyelids, and lips. It was as if he understood exactly how to inflict the maximum horror possible. Even after being stabbed and struck, Travis continued his rampage, stopping only when shot by police.

Travis is not an outlier, but emblematic of a disturbing pattern in chimpanzee behavior. These creatures possess a darkness that should never be underestimated.

How it's made

This unisex garment-dyed t-shirt is made with medium fabric (6.1 oz/yd² (206.8 g/m²)) consisting of 100% ring-spun US cotton for year-round comfort that is sustainable and highly durable.
