sorry i think i’m missing something. i know it’s a ww2 flight jacket. i’m just curious if there are any issues with the real mccoy build quality or anything else i might not notice

Are you sure? It’s quite pricey.

well honestly i am not totally sure. i want a jacket that will last me a lifetime if taken care of. not necessarily sold on this brand but i have been told it is top tier

It will out last you; my point with it being ww2 is that it was made for being in -30 at 20,000 ft for 10 hours, do you need something that warm? If so; it’s a solid jacket, if not, you’ll never wear it

It is top tier. However if you look at let’s say a similar jacket by Aero Leather you won’t be worse off. Unless you are gonna wear this for let’s say months at a time for several decades I would think it over. Especially when it’s a Real McCoy jacket. Maybe get a similar jacket second hand and wear it for a while so you won’t regret paying top dollar for something you won’t wear that much after all.

yea you guys are right, it’s too pricey for what i’d use it for. aero leather looks much more reasonable and i will see about going that route. thanks bros

Because modern cabins are insulated and heated, unlike WW2 planes. Moreso the bombers which had open spots for the machine guns.

Real mcCoys are among a handful of manufacturers that are considered top tier in leather jackets in terms of material quality and costruction. Some people might prefer others, but you can’t go wrog with them, along with Aero, Eastman, Bucko and a few others. Anything from them is a good investment if you can afford it.

The B6 jacket is actually a lighter and slimmer version of the B3 (picrel) as such is slightly less warm but more stylish for casual wear. It is still a warm jacket, so unless you live in a place that’s very cold year round, it’ll be a winter jacket. It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth the money in this case. Also bear in mind that leather jackets are not good for rain, so if you live in a place with mild but rainy winters, I wouldn’t pick this jacket.
    Hope this helps.

Keep in mind that RMC fits rather slim in general. Be very careful with measurements, maybe compare with a similar jacket you own
You will not regret investing your hard earned bucks as they make some of the best jackets out here
Life is short, so better invest in good stuff you will enjoy
I bought my dream pilot jacket from BR recently and have not regreted it
    Also would recommend checking Aero/Eastman

I like them but depending on the type they can be a bit tacky. Some have these big logos on them which looks a bit overdone. However if you can find one that you like you should be fine. They aren’t Aero or RM but they are ok. That being said, I did read that their quality after around 2020 has been dropping off (jeans, t-shirts) but I don’t know if it affects their jackets as well.

They’re crazy warm. Where I live at least, in coldest part of winter all I need is this and a t-shirt and for the rest of the year it’s too warm to wear.
