You know rap is completely finished and can no longer be taken seriously when a rich white guy whose parents were horse breeders can LARP as a hardened street thug from Compton and not even get called out on it.

Is that Jack Harlow? Dude had only one hit song before selling out with the KFC meal. After that everyone forgot about him, in fact I remember a video where he played at a college football game and the crowd was practically silent.

        Fuck meant to reply to

His rise to fame also highlights the fact that I truly do not understand women. How this israelite-fro, sparse bearded white guy, who looks like he was discovered outside a small town 7/11, is supposedly attractive to women is simply beyond my comprehension. Maybe it's the faux-confidence and bravado in his rapping? Dunno, I don't listen to this crap.

    >not even get called out on it.
his public persona is too likable for people to care. if anybody without charisma tried what he did, they'd be shut down as an 'industry plant'. its retarded

In the '80's and '90's he would've been torn apart by real rappers.

I agree with you OP. We should support and fund the lifestyles of actual murdering drug dealers, not people who just tell stories about being like that (which is much worse than actually doing it)

Being a thug is not a good thing, frankly it's better if you're lying about it although still shitty behaviour

      >implying most black gangsta rappers aren't LARPers as well
      >implying Tupac wasn't a middle class guy who used to be a ballerina
      >implying all of NWA weren't 100% cosplaying
if they actually did the stuff they rapped about they wouldn't be chilling in their inground pool in Orange County, they'd be dead or in jail.

2Pac was raised in a ghetto, mostly by a single mother from the Black Panther party who had very little money and was crack addicted for periods. He never claimed to have been a major drug dealer, in both songs and interviews he was very candid about trying to sell drugs for awhile as a youth but having no aptitude for it.

White people took over the conscious hip hop scene, they took over DEI offices, and they took over the Black Lives Matter movement. How is them taking over rap music surprising at all?

rap used to be about portraying tough realities not glamorizing it. But it attracted degenerates who want to act like thugs and remain barely literate
