I think this image is unironically a really good illustration of capitalism. If the point is to be able to see the ball game, the people holding the net have no ability at all to see it and those crates are blocking the view even more than the fence does. The question is, who are the people holding the net, what actually is the net, and who are the people who can see the game? Bonus question: what is the ball game?

Thus is the most moronic take. Someone has to work and miss the game, even players cant lay back and watch the game on the back. There is no system in which everyone can watch the game and be forced to do it.

      >extra boxes are unnecessary, don't actually do anything helpful, and actually present a danger of falling

it's almost like capitalism is hostile to the majority of its participants by design

i mean in a functional capitalist economy the boxes would in a shipping yard or something and not randomly lying around outside a stadium, so the family can make a living by loading the boxes onto a ship or something and then can afford to actually buy a ticket

I am very thankful to capitalism! If you read the communist manifesto, you'll see that Marx is very thankful to capitalism as well. He just recognized that a capitalist society necessarily has material contradictions which will either lead to the continued degradation of the quality of life for the workers, or the collapse of the system. If we look at the image once more we'll see. In the third pic there's way more crates than before because of how productive labour was able to become under capitalism. The next step in maximizing everyone's quality of life is giving those two people on the bottom access to some crates as well, at the expensive of the people who are highest up.

You're so close to realizing how the people on the right got so many crates in the first place.. I can smell the two brain cells you have rubbing together.

Imagine the government owned all factories that produce HRT and any private business like DIY suppliers was strictly banned and criminalized
And then imagine what would happen if that government got transphohic because 50% of people vote republican and most cis center leftists find the idea of HRT "too radical"

yeah hence why we make the factories be owned by the workers instead.

"The workers" are famously pro trans and socially progressive. This is a dumb fantasy that you know doesn't work. Most intellectually honest socialists understand that "the workers" is not a magical fix to every problem which is why there are specific strands of feminist and queer left movements.

Uh huh, and collectively vote to allocate resources and labor to producing HRT for you. Which will definitely happen naturally and immediately once we put the factories under the control of the workers. No further efforts required.

            >guys what if there's no immediate obvious benefit to this, and we're just, making these workers' lives better for nothing?

okay, but just to clarify, workers should own the means of production, workers owning the means of production is good and it's something that should be strived for. agree or disagree?

            Anonymous

You do care because they vote dipshit. There's no magic fantasy world that centrists pretend exist where people can be quietly transphobic or racist or whatever but everyone just gets along anyways because people keep their political beliefs to themselves because those people never just stop at their beliefs. It's not enough for them to hate trans people they will always want to get rid of you. This is extremely well-backed historically.

            P. Sevenleaf

Okay, so you got any better ideas? I'm listening.

I still haven't heard you say that the workers should own the means of production, and I must say that leaves me feeling a little suspicious of your agenda here.

This is a realistic depiction of capitalism, because in order for those three people to have a good view of the game, a lower caste who cant even see the game at all and exist soley to cater the high class must be present

      P. Sevenleaf

anon you're still not getting it

there's no reason for the fence to even be there in the first place, all three panels are capitalism, in a non-capitalist society there wouldn't be a fence there in the first place since its only purpose is to keep out non-paying customers

That's a good idea, we get rid of the fence, get rid of the profit motive, provide for everyone's needs, and the only baseball players left are the ones doing it out of passion instead of chasing a contract.
