You mean you couldn’t just have a watch with cell connection on its own you also need a blower to go along with it?

I don’t see why you would want just the tick tocker but seems strange it’s not an option, maybe so it doesn’t cannibalize iPhone sales.

its literally just an iphone without the camera and processor bloat, it has pretty much all the core apps i use for my phone outside of games and if i didn't need an iphone to pair and could instead use my mac which im in love with then you bet i would be the bestest goyim paypiggy for the new ultra

you can use one without an iPhone if you have the LTE version

you still have to have an iphone to activate it. i guess you could just get a jamal discount on an old iphone but i don't want that kind of burden

I don't get it. The iPhone suddenly appeared and rapidly became popular and mostly sustained that popularity. No-one seems to care about smart watches except men who carry a man purse and people who got one as a present

What do smartwatches even offer you if you're not a fat frick?
Notifications? Come on, getting out my phone isn't that hard.

Garmin and brands like that sell watches to outdoorsy/ fitness freak types for the same sort of money, people appear to want to document and quantify every second of their existence (i assume the compulsion stems from them having to do the same in their work lives), so if they dont cater to these people when its minimal effort to do so, it's just money left on the table.

They are for monitoring your exercise routines to see how well you are doing/consistent you are being.
They are great for that, why are you against being healthy?

Not necessary to be healthy nor proven to induce healthy behaviors, let alone show some measurable health outcome superiority.

It's all it is, why are you projecting this fricking hard? What are you mad at?

I recently switched to iOS and the watch was actually a big draw considering the android watches have all been shit. Notifications on my wrist while I'm in the field at work, activity monitoring while surveying or fishing or whatever, sleep tracking, notifications while im out back that someone's at the front door. There's quite a few options for how you want to use it

if you're in the field at work, the only notifications you should get is the tap on your shoulder

The only killer feature of a smartwatch is allowing you to see who's calling/messaging you without taking out your phone. If you don't get many calls every day it's not worth it to lug around that device on your wrist.

    is it possible to
    >buy cheapest used, barely working iphone
    >buy a cellular watch and activate it
    >leave the phone plugged in, on a desk or drawer
    >just get data / etc on your watch all day

Could actually see the value in that, I fricking hate smartphones.

I hate smart watches so much.
    >oh yeah let me add another stupid shit to plug on my USB recharge bench every fricking night
    >going for a trip? Better take your USB multiplexer with you to recharge your phone, your laptop, your watch and your earbuds
