Because Windows 11 is not good for handhelds. I mean ffs they still haven't fixed S3 sleep for laptops.
Valve made the right choice to create an immutable Linux distro specifically with an optimized graphics stack. It takes a *ton* of software support to get these types of devices working, and the best you can do on Windows (even as an OEM) is to report bugs upstream to Microsoft and hope that they fix it in a reasonable amount of time.
Because firmware and kernel code is extremely easy to get wrong in small, almost imperceptible ways until its actually out on the systems. The S3 sleep mode issue in Windows is one major example of Microsoft getting it wrong over and over. The bigger issue is that laptop manufacturers are unable to make fixes to Windows outside of their own firmware and basic drivers due to Windows not being open sourced.
Steamdeck is based on Arch, but has custom versions of the kernel, mesa, and their own compositor (gamescope). Because all of these are open source, Valve is easily able to make changes and push fixes for their devices when bugs are found or optimizations can be made. They can then get their fixes pushed to the mainline kernel for better support as well. They would not be able to do any of that on Windows.

because OEM windows is stupidly expensive to consoomers, valve got around this by making an alternative and letting people install windows themselves if they want it
dell and alienware are poojeet tier now, they dont want to invest money into the alienware brand because its name tarnished... alienware used to mean top dog performance for those rich that could afford it but now it's dirt cheap shit thats under performing and over priced.
I legit would not buy an alienware product over other brands unless they ayylamo shit is like 50% or 60% cheaper.
Windows is enough of a disaster on desktop. I can't imagine trying to deal with it on a bootleg Game Boy like that.
Imagine having to go into the registry or device manager and have to squint at the little text and scroll through it with an analog stick.
>just press AABBAXYABXAABA to rollback your WiFi drivers bro
That's exactly why I want a 10 inch version with detachable controllers.
Windows is perfect on a surface device.

This.
>windows 11
>small battery
>less that 32 GB of ram
Yikes
there is no market for these things. phones killed portable consoles.
phone games suck though
doesn't matter, anon is right

Finally. Tech-literate posts on LULZ
Asus Ally, Lenovo Legion Go
Steam Deck is still the king tho.

Let me guess: you need more

It was a demo at a tradeshow, not a product coming to market.

>Why are no major companies making windows 11 handhelds?
Windows 11 is essentially Windows handheld.
