Wow this album is fucking shit. It's like they took all the tropes that make post-punk insufferable to listen to and put it into an album.
>pretentious album art
check
>garbage lyrics
check
>is praised by hipsters even though is just mediocre pop music
check
Damn like I can't even think of a single innovative thing that it does.
K
You posted the wrong picture, let me help
Oh yeah this also sucks.
At least this one came first
i came in ur mom last nite
applies to both tbh
Garbage opinions general
It's Words Fail Me, title track and Resistance for me. For being a total "LITERALLY ME" I'm surprised they still haven't gained more traction
You missed the worst one by 30 seconds
oh, really? what makes Joy Division or The Sound better than, say, Gang of Four, Wire, The Pop Group, This Heat, any "post punk" group really? Mopey lyrics and suicidal frontmen? psp4ws
>Gang of Four, Wire, The Pop Group, This Heat
Not being diry commies
Having decent sense of melody and atmophere instead of playing mallgoth shit
>mallgoth shit
but that's literally what JD and The Sound are lol
did you actually listen to any of these bands, retard?
JD are literally one of the originators of goth rock with Bauhaus
and Wire are literally one of the originators of post-punk
Siouxsie predates and influenced both.
>melody and atmophere
another way of saying that you just like mediocre catchy pop shit
>Gang of Four, Wire, The Pop Group, This Heat
one of these isn't like others
I like Joy Division, the Sound, Gang of Four, Wire, Pop Group, and This Heat
and i really dont understand why annoying homosexuals like you must insist on hating one or the other:
>You have to mindlessly like everything without having preferences.
kill yourself lol
>you have to hate the things you dont prefer because youre an obnoxious manchild who probably only listens to music to measure his dick
album art
Album art is a purely aesthetic choice and it doesn't affect the music at all, therefore this is invalid criticism
lyrics
Caring about the lyrics, which are clearly the most unimportant part of music, just shows how much of a pleb you are
>>is praised by hipsters even though is just mediocre pop music
You're just throwing buzzwords instead of actually explaining what you didn't like about it
Maybe music isn't for you anon.
>Caring about the lyrics, which are clearly the most unimportant part of music
bad take for a punk just sayin
The Sound and Magazine I don't like 🙂
I can't escape myself is a great song ngl.
Their later albums are better but I still love this one a lot
The follow up is better
yeah it's not that good really. this is like Unknown Pleasures but for people who want to look cool and get cred. Even though neither is true post-punk
True post punk has never been tried
it was
by John Lydon, Wire and Swell Maps
then it got overshadowed by emoshit like JD
even The Cure is better, at least Robert could sing for shit
The Fall are better than all of these
wouldn't say it's better but it's pretty good as well
The two most common takes I see about this album are either questioning how it isn't more well known and part of the post punk canon or that its super overrated derivative post punk.
It’s a good album but it isn’t really as good (or popular) as the classics so it is popular among contrarians who want to listen to “underrated” albums.
Plebeians. Plebeians everywhere.
It's good but The Chameleons were better
