>Haha I just look for sales haha it really wasn’t that expensive haha
How the heck do I stop doing this?

I even do it when they dont even imply it looks expensive. I sound like both an elitist and a pennypincher

I just pretend that i don’t know the brand i’m wearing.

If they don’t know the brand either, they’re cool with it. If they know the brand, they seethe.

What you should really do is buy expensive unknown brands and when someone asks act like they’re super cheap so when they look it up later they’re in for a surprise.

This only works if they are actually high quality and good looking. I have a few merino wool and silk-cotton blend stuff from brands I havent heard of back then or since then. But normies are amazed when they touch it at how nice it feels, though nobody asked me what brand it is – more like “where did you buy this?”

On the other hand I have an ami paris shirt I bought on a sale for like 70 euros. I thought it was a steal, but it looks very cheap irl so I dont like it that much. People are always shocked when they ask the brand name and google it up, and not in a good way

Normies don’t know where I get my clothes or how much they cost because I don’t wear anything with big gay logos on it.
    >wow, that’s a really nice looking leather jacket. Where did you get it?
    >The internet.

People assume im some rich kid because of the uni i go to. I always just tell them I am financially irresponsible and like clothes: I buy, sell and trade for them.

    >Imagine wanting to buy exorbitant clothes just to look like others and receive valid.

    You need to grow up.

I think you’re overthinking it and that is affecting how your answer comes off. If I got a good deal on something, I’d happily say so. If I paid full price for an expensive item and I was happy with my purchase, I’d say it was worth the price.
