Would it bette to take finasteride every day or only a few times a week?

Wouldnt taking it on some days and not others fluctuate your hormone levels and cause more problems? Wouldn’t taking it every day at least allow your body to restabilize and reach a level of homeostasis?

Finasteride is one of those hair drugs that doesn’t improve efficacy with dosage unlike minoxidil, 0.2mg fin daily gets 80% of the effectiveness of 1mg at reducing scalp DHT, 5mg isn’t much different, but at that dosage it’s supposed to shrink enlarged prostate, in which case, the almost guaranteed sexual side effects can be considered worth it.

No because it affects your hair for 30 days

5mg is not necessary in relation to hair stability. You can take 1mg 3 times a week (M,W,F) for example and the acculumation of finasteride in the scalp will be 80% effective as 1mg every day. It will cycle out your body in 30 days.

I pretty much do this, been going strong for 11 months, no side effects, not a lot of regrowth but i stopped thinning and receding

testosterone is unaffected, it actually boosts it because it’s not being converted to DHT anymore
some stupids will still claim it gets aromatized to estrogen just by floating around but these people are mentally ill and don’t even know what aromatized means

aromatase inhibitors are often used when cycling test because your estradiol often goes up.
hormones are complex, but yeah for sure, if you have higher circulating free testosterone, you’ll push the equilibrium toward higher E2. E2 conversion is rate-limited by free testosterone, and secondarily by the amount of aromatase.

given enough time your body will probably downregulate aromatase production, but that’s a slow process.

tl;dr yeah higher test = higher estrogen, at least in the short term

should i start with both fin+min or just fin for the first few months and then see if min is necessary
    >t.diffuse thinner

I would start with finasteride first. Both finasteride and minoxidil will make your hair shed in the beginning. Doing both a t the same time will give you a brutal shed and you’ll look like Jason blaha. Maybe start with min when your hairloss has stabilized on fin.

I started using fin and I recently also started a skincare routine and started lurking this board. I was a happily unwashed troglodyte before that. Am I turning gay?

A man with a good physique and Norwood 3-7 is peak silverback energy. Nothing worse than a man in his 30s with a hecking 15 year olds haircut.

This fact is always absurd to me. The drug is only approved because of how the pharma corp presented its study results to the FDA decades ago.
We still have little idea what the 10 (ten) or so other neurosteriods inhibited by finasteride actually do in our nervous system/brain.
