I don't get cloud served music. I am old and prefer optical media, but since that is a pain in the ass compared to storing it locally on the diskdrive, I do that. Having to have an internet connection in order to listen to my music seems stupid.
too much work
maybe I would bother to do this if we were still in 2010 back when my music palette wasn't that much big and I only listened to maybe 25 artists
More than half of my local music library isn't available on Spotify. It seems like everyone I talk to has some songs they had to give up in order to move to Spotify.
This is beyond me to be honest. Maybe they just don't really care about music they listen to, but I wouldn't give up on some of my favourite tracks just for sake of... I don't even know exactly. Algorithm recommendations? I just directly follow artists I like on YouTube and Twitter and discover new artists through labels and LULZ generals.
It's like people aren't even aware this is the option, they just want to be feed directly by the algorithm from the limited slice of slop that is available on these platforms.
Music is too important to me to abandon songs I love and limit myself to small selection of most popular pieces.
The only thing not on there for me is jorge ben jor. A good artist that has like 200 listeners is el obo and he's on there. His other band colour revolt is on there too and it's also good.
Gross there is no good new music. Daws and the telecommunications act of 1996 destroyed music. You need to mine back to honestly before the 80s. 80s production is awful and robotic and was the beginning of the end. 60s was the peak of music in pretty much every genre.
YouTube Music
They just started rolling out podcasts in some countries I think but afaik it's like a separate tab that's kinda hidden n shit and not really present In the home screen
i use spotify because somewhere in my life i decided im not going to manually download a file from a website every time i want to listen to a song. my music taste is also sufficiently schizo that i literally dont think i could find most of the music i listen to in torrents etc
>i use spotify because somewhere in my life i decided im not going to manually download a file from a website every time i want to listen to a song.
Is the word ``not'' typed by accident?
my daily mix is always the same dozen or so songs. No matter what song I pick it always converges to the same shit after 3 or 4 songs play. I don't get it.
I don't let computers choose what I listen to because they don't know what I want to listen to. I have curated 1 playlist of songs to listen to with other people, the rest of the time I listen to albums in full from start to finish, as intended.
I use Soulseek to download albums that I don't own or can't rip because I don't have an optical drive.
On android I use Seeker which is an open source Soulseek client.
Also just search albums on YouTube sometimes so I can read the comments while I listen.
>as intended.
Who dictated this intended listening experience? The artist or the publisher? I don't want to feel like I am being manipulated with some mind virus programmed by the NWO.
The artist, publishers have no influence over the music I listen to.
I also sometimes fantasize that I'm curating music for an imaginary audience, providing commentary (in my head) while I'm listening to the music. If I hear certain standout parts, themes, or even interesting stories/connections that a song or artist has to another, I'll add that song next in queue. Like a musical tour guide, but I also benefit and have fun, not just the imaginary people.
One last thing is I like creating music videos in my head. Some are really good and I wish I could make them.
>publishers have no influence over the music I listen to.
I really should have known just by how much you cared about the issue you had already displayed. I apologize if you think you are talking to a monkey.
I am not surprised you would take an active stance to support or just take pleasure in not having to pay taxes? I do the same. >I also sometimes fantasi
I stopped reading here. Get help. Stop being you and get help.

Sir the spotify is for podcasts nobody listens to music
I was unaware. Thank you.
Please try out Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast sir. It is good fun.
Wtf is a podcast. The kind of stuff you listen to in your pod?
It's like radio except the cia naggers aren't telling the people what to say like on the radio or television.
>t. zoomer
I don't want to torrent 5000 songs
Why.
too much work
maybe I would bother to do this if we were still in 2010 back when my music palette wasn't that much big and I only listened to maybe 25 artists
Yeah it's a huge pain in the ass when using multiple devices as well. Convenience is king
There isn't that much good music - luckily. Jamiroquai only has 7 albums.

A lot of doujin/vocaloid music only got uploaded on niconico or some soundcloud 10 years ago or something and that's it.
I used spotify to heart every one of there 400+ tracks and that is it.
*their
Diskdrives are optical media, retard.
Are all diskdrives optical media, professor?
Depends, how good are your eyes?
I fookin knew it.
better than the rest
Haven't used spotify since they paid the bald chud.
Who told you you need "an algorithm" to listen to music. You got pranked.
YO ITS YOUR WIGGER DJ HERE AND I"M GOING TO PLAY SOME SHIT YOU DON"T LIKE OR ARE TIRED OF HEARING
/g/
you know, twas the Spotify algorithm that recommended me one of my favourite songs of all time
I don't think its even meant to be good, it just picks something broadly in the same genre
>listening to music
normalhomosexual
I hate when it starts going into obscure spotify-only artists that are copying a specific quality of the actual artist you like
Like what and please tell me this isn't laptop computer daw music
>laptop computer daw music
every electronic artist since 2005....

come home white man
>not libre.fm
>playlist of +1000 songs
>plays the same 50 no matter what
Sir?
I cancelled Spotify recently.
Anyone know a better alternative that isn't pozzed as fuck with podcasts and pro libfag bullshit promoted on the home screen?
Torrents + Foobar2000
YouTube Music

is there an app for desktop yet? i only saw thirdparty, what a waste
>an app for desktop
What?
yeh, the browser
I only use YouTube music
it's god tier once it gets to know you better. If you get served shit recs you might just have shit taste, or maybe good but generic taste
No, pandora was unironically better.
If you have generic normie taste its good
>restarts playlist every time you get connect to your car
works on my machine
Why do you use it?
i use spotify because somewhere in my life i decided im not going to manually download a file from a website every time i want to listen to a song. my music taste is also sufficiently schizo that i literally dont think i could find most of the music i listen to in torrents etc
