It also says that the sun sets in a pool of muddy water, that semen is stored in the abdomen and that stars are missiles allah uses to shoot down demons trying to sneak into heaven

        Quran 18:86
        >until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy (or hot) water. And he found near it a people. We (Allâh) said (by inspiration): "O Dhul-Qarnain! Either you punish them, or treat them with kindness."
Translation by Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan. Attested and approved by Abd al-Aziz Ibn Baz, Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia.

The passage narrates that a person went near a body of muddy water at dusk and FOUND (keyword : found) the sun setting into the muddy spring in question.

Do you think that him seeing that scene means that the Quran has claimed that the sun physically descends into the ocean and comes back up?

It's absolutely laughable how bad your reading comprehension would have to be to think it's claiming that's the case.

            >he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy water
So he found the place where it sets and it was setting into a spring of muddy water. Sounds pretty unambiguous to me.

Yes, just as I'd find the sun setting in the ocean if I was walking by the beach at dusk, please leave the literature board you illiterate mouthbreather.

Religious morons have taken it too far. Nobody knows what the frick this is. The vast majority of you think a "higher divine energy" made it all happen. OK, THAT'S FINE. But you can't jump to Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and other supernatural religions without being considering mentally unstable. NO, your GUESSES don't mean SHIT. In other words, your religion is human made.

    >"do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass (Ratqan), then we opened them out?” (Quran 21:31)
ok, not bad. not crazy either - it makes sense that out of all the holy texts in the world some would have somehting that looks like the big bang (the idea of all matter being condensed ad the beginning could easily be made up by some mystic).

    >"He merges the two bodies of ˹fresh and salt˺ water yet between them is a barrier they never cross.” (Quran 55:19-20)
Something the people who wrote the quran couldve observed and known about

    >“we sent down iron with its great inherent strength and its many benefits for humankind” (Quran 57:25)
god is usually metaphorically thought of as from above, so 'sent down' could easily have been the consequence of that.

    >"Or ˹their deeds are˺ like the darkness in a deep sea, covered by waves upon waves, topped by ˹dark˺ clouds. Darkness upon darkness! If one stretches out their hand, they can hardly see it." (Quran 24:40=
sounds more like a cool metaphor than anything else. what do the 'dark clouds' correspond to?

    >pulsar star - piercing brightness
as much as id like to approach this with an open mind thats moronic and you know it. piercing brightness - pierces you/the eyes

    >pulsar star - tariq beating
seems like it could be a coincidence but this is a better argument.

      >bigbang
      That's 1 coincidence.
      >the people who wrote the quran could've known about
The prophet never saw the ocean, much less the body of sea in question, which is in vancouver, Canada (fraser river delta)
      >sent down is a consequence
The issue here is that the Quran never uses this same phrase when talking about any other blessing outside of sending down rain, it's been taken as literal by the majority of scholars, even before scientific confirmation. That's another coincidence.
      >pulsar
Wow that sure is a lot of coincidences.

There's tons more, and one that's especially of note is the fact that Quran precisely describes a stage in embryology as a "leech", something which even a distinguished non muslim professor of anatomy described as being astonishing, see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_L._Moore

Ancients knew a lot more than we give them credit for. They often had a good reason for doing something, even if the justification was flawed.

But this thread has the same energy of racists that think Aliens built the pyramids because nobody could do that without power tools.
