Win10 freaks out messes up desktops on dual monitors with older games. It also messes up icon spacing even if I set it in registry. Dunno what sort of poo code is going on
For me the most triggering part is the context menu, every time i right click and see it I want to kill myself, and the fact you need a fucking registry edit to fix it doesn't help at all
It forces you to create an account and comes with bloatware. I know that you can make your way around this but still a terrible user experience. I am using Windows 10 LTSC because of this.
>do you want the display settings, the advanced display settings, or the legacy display settings >also there's a secret display settings for devs teehee
It's certainly better than Windows 10. A hell of a lot less updates that require restarting.
The one thing that truly annoys me is adjusting any Windows settings. Some really basic shit can be in any one of six different settings panels and with every update they're all shuffled around just a bit.
The Start menu search also sucks dick instead of searching. Not only does it consistently fail to find some files but for instance it's completely random if searching for "Note" brings up Notepad or Notepad++ as the first result.
>just updated >suddenly I can have proper fullsized uncombined buttons on the taskbar
huh, maybe it will actually be properly usable before 10th EOL, I mean it's kinda fine right now
I think you can put links to your folders into the start menu folder at AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms, then pin them to your favorites
Firstly the fact that you need an online account upon first install and the way their pushing that. It wouldn't be a problem if there was a version of windows 11 that was designed to run on ATMs, Scadas, etc that was also specifically built without auto pilot and online store accounts, etc. but all of the versions that I am aware of require the user to hack the install to force skip an online account upon fresh install. This is just unacceptable for many reasons but because online accounts are considered a core function of the OS now it won't be long until Microsoft pushes an an update that breaks PCs for those systems and users that have chosen to skip creating an online account all together. Really everything about online accounts is just bad because you have to design for lowest common denominator for safety and practical reasons. Imagine building a house where the house can't function without a Ring door, etc. the water and power lines have to authenticate to Amazon AWS or an HVAC system in a sky scrapper that only works with IOS 11.5 and lower. See the problem? Microsoft and Windows 11 are just failing at the basic things that made them integral to begin with, much like every other modern aspect of society right now.
As long as I can use alternative shells still I'll be fine.
sovl
holy soul
>it takes up to 4GB RAM to run a single program
>the whole computer freezes when the desktop changes whether by automatic switching or you setting it
The ui is a hot buggy mess. Exiting dx11 games causes Explorer to hang and java to shit itself in confusion.

looks like some generic KDE theme
Nothing. Just make sure to get the pro version and grab the optimizer program off of github to turn off ads and telemetry.
They refuse to do something as simple as allowing you to make the taskbar vertical.

It’s a foot in the door for TPM shit
It's for gamers and scammers in India. It abuses its users.

inconsistent ui everywhere

OMG, fucking finally
which update did this?
23h2
Thank you, will update soon.
The only Windows update I've actually been waiting for.
Does this update also bring back quick launch icons?
don't think so
you can pin programs there though
Sucks. I have all my main folders in there and it drastically speeds up my workflow.
Can you at least pin them to the start menu?
I think you can put links to your folders into the start menu folder at AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms, then pin them to your favorites
Better than nothing I guess. Thank you.
It's different and I don't like change

Heavy and kind of broken. I will wait 5 more years before considering it
Isn't Windows 12 coming out next year?
I am not going to alpha test when win 11 is still in beta as far as it concerns me
Other than the usual windows issues, the new file manager is seriously making me seriously consider coming back to linux.
What did they do?
made it better with worse ui
i can't move my FUCKING TASKBAR to the side. something that's been always possible and is fucking TRIVIAL to implement.
