>tighter pattern >more aggressive siping >significantly less sidewall bite
Looks like they're trying to fix the hydroplaning issue and make it more of a sand/water/snow/street tire and less of a crawling tire. They'll be worse in mud too. I'm willing to bet the sidewall isn't as beefy as the ko2s and these won't be a direct replacement.
I’ve driven both KO1s for 55k miles and now 65k miles on KO2s.
The hydroplaning thing is a meme, I have gone through standing water at speed hundreds if not thousands of times and there is zero indication of hydroplaning, ever.
My biggest problem wirh KO2s is the racing slick performance in even the lightest of muddy situations. But seeing as 75% of my heavy off-road use is deep sand, which they excel at, I haven’t felt the need to switch when the time comes in another 15-20k miles to replace them.
My other big problem with them is they run super small, 37s measure out barely over 35” in the real world which look tiny on my stock truck.
Also a little bummed that only the early KO2s (such as mine) are winter rated, because they did great snow, and have worn like iron to top it off.

The KO2 was never a mud tire to begin with,
I just wish they'd come out with skinnier versions
the thick sidewall has saved me so many time. went up a curb doing like 40 cause some numb nut wasnt looking in her blind spot. tire was fine but my headlight bulb broke haha.
Typically OE tires are dogshit compared to the actual production sales version of tires. So I wouldn’t doubt the KO3s aren’t on the market because they likely suck compared to KO2s, but people will do anything to have the latest and greatest regardless of how awful it actually is.

They're baja tires made for baja trucks. At least that was the idea behind their design. I wouldn't say all OE tires are all dogshit, the f150 raptor had Ko2s from the factory for a while.
I'm sorry the street legal truck that's mandated to suck EPA and IIHS cum straight out of uncle scam's cock isn't a baja 1000 ready competitor off the lot.
OE tires and the tires you buy at a tire shop are not the same. The tire tread depth on a new vehicle on the lot is less than the tread depth of the exact same tire you buy new. The compound is almost always harder than the production tires you buy new at a tire shop.
They have the same writing and same brand and all that shit but they are never, ever, the same tires - they are built to a price
>The tire tread depth on a new vehicle on the lot is less than the tread depth of the exact same tire you buy new
false , they are the same tire and cant by law be built to different specs and be called the same model
>go to a Toyota dealer and check the tread depth on a new 4Runner and go find the exact same tire at your local tire shop.
or he could just use google to figure out how stupid he is.
nobody is wining a baja on a a/t tire. BFG is the undisputed baja tire choice with the most wins by far, usually with the Baja T/A KR2, but never with that OEM at tire that i could find. thats marketing bullshit that you have taken as the only word to listen to.
an at tire is made more a majority of street use not a purpose build baja tire. retard

in the way that tires are no different from the vehicle manufacturer. Referencing the tires that go on my vehicles.

New ko2s can still be 3pmsf, only the dt version isn't.
The 37s specifically are no longer winter rated, I do recall you are correct there are smaller sizes which still have the rating.
you might have good weight on them to not hydroplane, my ko2's waterski when they hit a small puddle, also i have no traction on wet surfaces

They'll eventually replace them, but thr ko2s are overrated anyway. Making their ATs more street friendly is the right choice.
the thick sidewall has saved me so many time. went up a curb doing like 40 cause some numb nut wasnt looking in her blind spot. tire was fine but my headlight bulb broke haha.
Who cares, they're OE tires for Silverado and ranger raptor only

lol you sure slurped that ford marketing cock right up. did you ask for seconds?
I'm sorry the street legal truck that's mandated to suck EPA and IIHS cum straight out of uncle scam's cock isn't a baja 1000 ready competitor off the lot.
No I don’t think you understand what I’m saying.

Is that why duratracs get a bad rep? Because people rate them based on their oe performance?
all I ever hear is people saying ko2s are trash and to buy duratracs instead.
I hear the opposite, buy ko2s or toyos not duratracs.
>The tire tread depth on a new vehicle on the lot is less than the tread depth of the exact same tire you buy new
false , they are the same tire and cant by law be built to different specs and be called the same model
Completely untrue, go to a Toyota dealer and check the tread depth on a new 4Runner and go find the exact same tire at your local tire shop.
>go to a Toyota dealer and check the tread depth on a new 4Runner and go find the exact same tire at your local tire shop.

My Michelin ltx at2s that come factory on my truck are exactly the same as the ones you buy and have put on.
>They're baja tires made for baja trucks
what an idiot.
nobody is wining a baja on a a/t tire. BFG is the undisputed baja tire choice with the most wins by far, usually with the Baja T/A KR2, but never with that OEM at tire that i could find. thats marketing bullshit that you have taken as the only word to listen to.

M/T tires are basically the same. Only Interco/Mickey Thompson makes M/Ts that are worth using and street legal.
Baja trucks. I guess the baja t/a tire is out now?
Cope they do perfectly fine for me.
>road tires do perfectly fine
wooow
Yeah I mostly drive on the road why wouldn’t they be fine for me?
>offroad tire tread
>street tires just werk for driving on the street!1
so true
Yeah they are 90 percent street tire and 10 percent "offroad" which as I said it about right for me.
that's crazy
Im glad you understand that factory tires and tires from a tire shop are the same now.
I thought I was refering to
in the way that tires are no different from the vehicle manufacturer. Referencing the tires that go on my vehicles.
For me its the Dextero DAT1
Ching chang tires with 2 ply sidewalls?
