Why do you have a bunch of scars? Are you a skateboarder or snowboarder or something? That's pretty cool people probably would like you more

Obviously it would have been better if you didn't have to go through that pain, but it wouldn't stop me loving you and I would creepily want to protect you even more.

Scars and wounds are super scary and seeing them makes me extremely uncomfortable. I would not feel safe with someone if they cut themselves, so it would be very hard for me to date someone who does that.

I'd lick them. (only if you're a troony though).

I think SH scars are kinda tragi-romantic, probably matters that I'm a cis foid and like playing therapist. But if it's fresh wounds, I dont think I can seriously date someone with that level of ongoing baggage. If you're fully or just mostly recovered, the scars tell your journey.

If it's scars from accidents or from surgery, I dont mind either, I dont think scars make anyone look uglier. I was actually considering aesthetic scarification on myself, but it would drop my sexual marketplace value as most people find scars gross so, a shame.

SH scars are extremely common, it’s really not that big of a deal & anyone who thinks otherwise is a shit person. open wounds or very recent scars is different, as it shows you’re actively struggling & likely not ready for a relationship emotionally, but scars quite literally show that you’ve healed, moved on. besides, it’s goofy to think that scars are some tell-all sign of whether or not someone is “too crazy” to date. there are plenty of genuinely psychotic, scary people who have none. judging people on something so superficial is an extremely inaccurate, immature practice.

depends how you got them, if it is from an accident people will be more likely to be ok with it than if it is self harm(in the case of self harm, 99% of people will reject you)

shallow people won't, but that's honestly an advantage. also you need to take your time to accept yourself in that regard and your body, as you might be self-sabotaging yourself because of insecurity

    scars from accidents happen
I have a huge one from a broken leg when I was 13 for example
scars from selfharm always make me want to hug a person and help them overcome whatever's driving them to it

Even if they are old? I'm talking like 5-10 and more years. Everybody goes through tough shit sometimes, mostly not of their own fault, and when you don't have a proper support group and access to professional help some might turn to very unhealthy coping habits. When you are at a point when suicide seems like the last option making permament scars on your body is really the last thing to actually bother you

I might even prefer people like that because I can sympathize with their histories, I'm stable now but used to have severe depression. I have two friends with a ton of trauma they needed therapy to get over. By the time we befriended each other, we were all stable (no more need for therapy, financially independent and in 'good' stable jobs, etc), but we could build a kind of bond that normies like

      [...]

      [...]

will never understand. I cant talk to the vast majortiy of 'normies' about details of the human psyche and human nature in this world in ways they will ever understand or even bother to try understanding. You can already tell from the way they write you off for past scars, not even current ones. You dont want such people anyway tbf.

a lot of weirdos on here like it, and you can always get them removed if your partner doesn't like them.

In my experience people react with indifference or, in rarer cases, they think scars are cool.

A friend of mine is very self-conscious about a part of his body with vitiligo and I thought it looked cool as frick. Don't worry about having some sort of "imperfection", if it's that big a deal to someone you're just dodging a bullet.

I'm cute and have two biggish scars on my face (one on my nose, another on my chin). People barely notice them or don't care
