Why would you become a Siths?

Why would you even want to join the Siths? All you get is angry waves for emotions you got trained by a bastard who you have to betray and kill or he's going to kill you at some point because of some stupid rule of 2 instead of something practical like saying I'm done being your master you can make your own apprentice and I get a new one now and you got to constantly be on the one without letting people know what you are when there's only another one of you around did you do anything with. I mean what are the actual benefits to the lifestyle? For you for anything resembling a legacy for your family?

No they don't, by the movies is clear turning into a sith turn you into a monk slave that must one day die by assisted suicide so your sidekick can replace you. It's like people confuse sith with Chaos Cultists from Warhammer40k

Firstly, that's only true of those who follow the rule of two - which wasn't the only sith philosophy. Secondly, the rule of two was meant to be concentrated darwinism for the sith, helping to ensure each one is more powerful than the last - and the most important one, the last sith in the rule of two - is the one who is powerful enough to overthrow the jedi and rule the galaxy. Sidious thought he was that sith, and arguably was. For him, it was freeing as hell.

          >Firstly, that's only true of those who follow the rule of two
The rule of two is one of the central ideologies of the sith for a thousand years and the pre rule of two sith worlbuilding canon is completely inconsistent so it's not even relevant. The sith are just literally evil for the sake of being evil, the extended universe tried to make Sheev Palpatine honeslty believe that being a sith makes you a better ruler for the people but Disney rectonned all of that.

              No. The reasoning goes,
              >non Force sensitives
              >stupid blind people akin to literal children
              >Force sensitive
              >the ones who understand the Universe and have the real power to steer the idiots to a proper course
              >Sith Lords
              >the ones who truly understand how to use the Force and exercise power
Thus, Palpatine as the Dark Lord of the Sith was the only one who could rule and steer the galaxy around.

That's bullshit. It varies, sure, but there are enough central tennets there. Plus, the roots of the rule of two come from that pre-rule-of-two time, so undermining one undermines the other.

You asked why people turn to the Sith. That's the explanation, their rationalization. As i said, the dark side is space cocaine. It's all about making the Force your bitch, while the Jedi follows the will of the Force, the Sith says "no, fuck you, i'm charge here".
The fact one gets turned with a ballsack for a face and space crack eyes shows that is a bad deal, but a true Sith doesn't give a fuck. As Palpatine said to Vader, doesn't matter if your face is fucked, you have power, the dark side is the only company you need.

Don't ask me, I just heard that one of their rules is a lack of intimacy. It makes sense since unfulfillment and broken promises would only make them angrier and more bitter at the world around them. Also when they realize that them rebelling was for nothing and that they destroyed what could've been for an empty promise.

I'm not pulling over 30 years of EU material to show the exact lines, but Sith doctrine goes like that: You impose your will over the Force. You break it, made it bend to your will. That's what a true Sith does, the individual above all. That's why Darth Krayt was considered an heretic, because he put a cause over the individual.

You mostly see jedi and sith because

      2. The jedi are meant to be a result of an infraglactic conference of force users so they're like some super church; and

The force is kinda like the warp, in that if you don't do what the Jedi do, e.i train and control your emotions, you backslide into becoming a Sith really easily.

At least, that's the only reason I can think of as to why every dark side user is an unhinged lunatic and the Jedi have to train their wholes lives to strive to be only somewhat unlikable.

It's mostly just an issue of writers making shitty Gray Jedi in media. I think the only one that I read about that I kinda liked was Ulic Qel-Droma, who turned towards being a Sith, killed his brother during that point and only repented after his new master lost the war and he went into exile. But he got shot in the stomach by some fat dwarf and died pretty unceremoniously right after meeting up with his ex when he'd spent, like, six months training her daughter to use the Force.

There's a lot of good ideas for gray jedi in legends, but they're usually not expanded out. The Potentium has a lot of good space for gray jedi - where no part of the force is inherently good or bad, it's your motives and actions that determine it. Or hell, the much vaunted Darth Vevictus was closer to a gray jedi than an actual sith. The issue is that the two kinds we tend to see are "Jedi who's too cool for rules, a loose canon who gets results!" and "ZOMG 2 powerful 4 sides, I trounce everyone 4ever."

It's just that very few people are capable of doing the grey thing without sliding into one side or the other.

I mean, in pre sequal trillogy, you needed instruction in the force philosophy to be able to use it with any degree. also, I don't really see it as stupid. Its basically a core ontological split between egoism and a sort of idealist universalism.

funnily, the Jedi have a similar rule. They could fuck all they wanted as long as there was no attachment or self-indulgence.

Old lore pegged them as less powerful because they weren't committed to the force. Typically, they either return to being Jedi, self destruct because of being too close to the dark side or get killed off by the Sith.

Not really. Jedi and sith are descriptive and are the gestalt of different galactic practices. You cant just have your cake and eat it too. They are the results of inner more intimate truths. At some point, for universal love, you are going to get towards jedi detachment from physicality, as an excess of possession leeds to greed and worldliness. See things like chritian monks, buhdist monks, Sufis and the like. While if you go towards egoism you will inevitably become sithish, and sith is the gestalt of that path. Will to power and all that.

Also, grey jedi are fucking retarded. no spirituality in it. literally valley girl buhdism. They dont actually have a stance. no firm principle.
