this schizo sees shills everywhere
and everytime you try to talk about this show he attacks
im starting to think he IS the shill against non disney products
This. Most of the other shit on Apple is kind of garbage, that has been written for a very, very fucking specific niche audience. but I do applaud them for knowing their target audience, and not crying hate crime any time one of their products dips below 80% on rotten tomatoes. inb4 RT doesn't mean shit. of course it fucking doesn't. that's my point
>he didn’t see a thread about it after the second episode airing and watched it with LULZ
ngmi
also this season had a great finale. I was totally expecting to be blue balled, and while there’s still a lot of questions unanswered, it was still satisfying enough to be kino >SHES ALI-
it was more kino than it had a right to be >Let not weakness live in your veins. Cherished workers, drown it inside you. Rise up from your deathbed and sally forth, more perfect for the struggle
>be an innie with only 6 months worth of life experience >never even touched a female in you life >go to clock out >elevator door opens >you are now staring directly at Helly's cooch as she writhes and gasps
Wat do, Innie bros?
I don't understand why the severance procedure is even necessary. Is it supposed to be a metaphor for people with security clearances that sign non-disclosure agreements and have to compartmentalize their work life from their personal life? Like, is this series just shitting on people who work for companies like Raytheon and design missile systems intended for killing Arabs?
I saw it as a commentary on the wagie work/life balance. I think it's common people have work friends and basically an entire life at their work, that's separate from their home life. And they wish for their day to go by as quickly as possible, it's not healthy
The bleeding edge of engineering (real engineering - not computer science) is conducted behind closed doors with the intention of killing people as efficiently as possible. MIT is basically a feeder school for the military industrial complex.
Why does everything have to be a metaphor? It is dreaming up solutions to existential problems people have and playing around in that world, this is what science fiction is for.
It's a metaphor for cooperate worker abuse and extortion. In the show, the Outties are effectively given the role of being their own middle-managment over their Innies. It's a double edged question of morality: How would you feel if that waggie being treated like shit was you? What would you do if you could be the boss? Its a very clever and interesting way to frame both sides of the issue
>I don't understand why the severance procedure is even necessary.
Nominally: The departments working on that floor are dealing with such sensitive work that it is required so they can't leak anytihng
More probably: Manifesting Kier's teachings in the world requires that people have their impure cultural context removed, so they're a blank slate for Kier's ideas. CEO at the end says they'll everyone will get severed and become Kier's children. The floor is most likely a testing ground for the chip, to see how severed people react in certain situations - hence why all the cameras focus on their faces, not on their work, because the work is either meaningless or specifically designed to see how they react to the different Tempers etc
There's an entire scene where there are workmen installing a new door
Were you watching a different show?

you mean the scene where they establish "the office" is modular and easily changed?

Anonymous
No I mean the scene where they establish them installing a door overnight while the office is empty, it doesn't just come magically out of the wall, they put it there
>door
IT ISN'T A FUCKING DOOR. IT'S SOME KIND OF METAL SLEEVE. ONE GUY HOLDS IT UP AND ANOTHER GUY DRILLS IT. THEY DO THE SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE.
BUT A FUCKING DOOR SLIDES OUT OF THE WALL AFTER.
You are fucking retarded.
>metal sleeve
They take that OFF the door dumb shit
They then drill in the keycard slot to the wall

Just rewatched it. I will not apologize for thinking they had some kind of tech magik. The door was made to be hidden but was there all along without a card reader, apparently.
Also, fuck you.

IT ISN'T A FUCKING DOOR. IT'S SOME KIND OF METAL SLEEVE. ONE GUY HOLDS IT UP AND ANOTHER GUY DRILLS IT. THEY DO THE SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE.
the floor still seems severly understaffed in terms of people capable of overseeing that the workers don't do anything weird or breach the code of conduct
Depends on what the point of it all is. If it's all some sort of social experiment maybe that's part of it. Maybe even they are part of it and don't actually have the full picture of what's happening and why.
They want everyone to be as isolated as possible. You see why - when they start interacting with other departments, they do less work and start acting out. Everything done in innieworld is all about control.
>The only mystery is what they're working on.
I have a theory, no idea how common it is. I think they're working on nothing. The numbers? They mean nothing? The goat room? Nothing. Instead it's all one big beta test for the chip. Halle's outie dad wants to release the chip to the public, he says everyone will want one, or something to that effect. So I think what's happening inside is just a test of sorts, to see how much control they can exert on people when they have no recollection of who they are. Plus there was that whole subplot of the different divisions having this sort of passed down fable of how the other divisions killed and ate each other, and that possibly ties into whatever the overall plan is.
That's a problem I have with the show. They have this top secret shit going on down stairs, so secret that they literally make sure you have no memory of it on the surface. But then they have next to no security. Like one security guard who gets killed, and Milcheck or whatever his name is. Even the characters bring this up in the show, so I hope they're going somewhere with this and it's not brushed over or forgotten about with basically a shrug.
Milchick isn't security, he's a supervisor. The security guy was Mr. Graner and he gets killed by the mysterious black lady. Graner was the one operating the console that can remotely activate the chips.
Graner was already dead iirc and it's already been established that part-time innies can be brought up from the testing floor for occasional tasks such as wellness counselling
So it could literally have been anyone
Yeah, I had a feeling that might have been the case, I just wasn't going to bother rewatching the series to make sure. It may well have been My waspfu, the wellness lady.
Graner was already dead iirc and it's already been established that part-time innies can be brought up from the testing floor for occasional tasks such as wellness counselling
>he didnt get it
innies dont know about any books or media outside of work, so the business manual is THE BOOK for them, they dont know any other culture except whats given to them on their floor
its like zoomers who only know capeshit and disney/amazon woke product, then they stumble unto married with children or the godfather and have their minds warped
thats what happened to the innies with the YOU book
But anon, the cult is the whole point. An innie is an attempt at creating a full formed cult member. Usually you have to hook people young, or find people with weak personalities, and then painstakingly indoctrinate them to your organization while systematically isolating them from the rest of the world and the people they know. An innie is a fully educated adult person with no worldly connections or support structure outside the ones supplied by Lumon. Look at the way they're so goddamned happy to get those meaningless nonsense rewards for their arbitrary work goals. Also look at the way they get punished and how it's meant to make disobeying spark feelings of fear and shame. Irving was the perfect specimen, until his evil homolust caused him to abandon and undermine all he had come to believe in.
they made him gay for walken on purpose. its kinda obvious the characters have some sort of deep negative connection on the outside, then next season irving is going to wake up, outside his house.
its odd how so few people get that the inside versions are pretty much polar opposites of the outside versions in some manner.
I'm sorry; please try to enjoy each tv show equally, and not show preference for any over the others. That's ten points off; you have 90 points remaining
There's a thread every other day. I liked it as well but they wrote themselves into a corner. I don't know what they'll do in Season 2. It's certified applekino though
Westworld Effect begone, Severance S2 will be equally kino
There is no fucking way in hell season 2 will be kino. It has all the ingredients of a show with a great first season that nosedives and shits the bed harder than Amber Heard. Sorry bros. I hope I'm wrong.
>”Uhhh Chrissy Walkin, do me hard big boy, do me from behind like I’m a peasant whore”
I turned it off right there. I get the moustachioed boot licker is ex-Navy but that was too much
I didn't articulate that very well, I get the symbolism with Kier and the Tempers, but the implication seemed to be that they would spend the night there. Wouldn't that be really fucking disorienting for the outie when they lose a whole day?

they'd probably auto-pilot him back to the elevator and back out and he'd have no clue why he was so spent on the outside.
its been shilled by professional shills on this board all month
you're probably one of them

So what is Lumon up to?
i got hooked by the cleverness of episode one does it persist?
Worryingly so, like too much went right this season and the second can only suffer because of it.
nice cuck mentality there
>arguably a little too kino
We did. Over and over again.
it was more kino than it had a right to be
>Let not weakness live in your veins. Cherished workers, drown it inside you. Rise up from your deathbed and sally forth, more perfect for the struggle

I love her perky tits bro
perky??? she's like 40 the only thing holding them up is the bra
No, the sweater is obviously nice and tight while doing some of the heavy lifting too.

Gotta think a little deeper than that.
I saw it as a commentary on the wagie work/life balance. I think it's common people have work friends and basically an entire life at their work, that's separate from their home life. And they wish for their day to go by as quickly as possible, it's not healthy
its about people severing their thoughts and worshipping trannyes and blacks on twitter while thinking they are disgusting irl
Security clearance stuff is usually mundane and boring so no
The bleeding edge of engineering (real engineering - not computer science) is conducted behind closed doors with the intention of killing people as efficiently as possible. MIT is basically a feeder school for the military industrial complex.
>real engineering - not computer science
Programming is the implementation of imperative knowledge. Retire your statement, brother.
Also skunkworks is based.
> not computer science
Let me know how well your missile and jets run without computers
With rocket fuel.
Hey homosexual, with chips a real engineer designs
All your software is unnecessary if we want to be completely honest
Severance itself is the perfect security clearance procedure.
Why does everything have to be a metaphor? It is dreaming up solutions to existential problems people have and playing around in that world, this is what science fiction is for.

And should Kier one day decide to never switch outies back on but allow innies to live a home life..
Ahem
I want to drink her milk like a hungry beast.
Was I the only one who noticed the magic security doors they installed to keep their field trips in check?
No?
That's a part of the plot
No, dumbass. They put up a panel on the wall and a fucking door comes out of nowhere. Pay attention.
There's an entire scene where there are workmen installing a new door

so... a pocket door?
I'm too lazy to check, post webm please
There were hundreds of threads about this kinopiece while it was airing.
organic
oh no a non-star wars thread reee
we got a good thread this week.
newfag... you're supposed to lurk first before making threads
[deleted post]
you just did 😉
Why is he the only security guard we see in the whole severed floor?
He's not even good at his job
hes not the security guard, hes more of the floor manager
the floor still seems severly understaffed in terms of people capable of overseeing that the workers don't do anything weird or breach the code of conduct

There has to be another because he tells someone to turn off the Overtime switch when Dylan's kid runs in
So there are certainly others but probably just on a part-time basis because the innies are prety docile in general
Milchick isn't security, he's a supervisor. The security guy was Mr. Graner and he gets killed by the mysterious black lady. Graner was the one operating the console that can remotely activate the chips.
Graner was killed before that scene.

Is this series appropriate for watching with one's own mother?
yeah there's no awkward sex scenes or anything
the marionette orgy though
you mean the waffle party? all they did was dance around a bit and they weren't even naked
yeah i guess it was implied
>marionette
That's the Tempers, watch it again
really enjoyed this season but could have done without the whole kier cult thing. felt like it detracted from the simplicity and power of the premise.
true
holy filtered
The premise is that the innies are slaves and and totally controlled by their masters, much like a cult or the fervently religious.
>he didnt get it
innies dont know about any books or media outside of work, so the business manual is THE BOOK for them, they dont know any other culture except whats given to them on their floor
its like zoomers who only know capeshit and disney/amazon woke product, then they stumble unto married with children or the godfather and have their minds warped
thats what happened to the innies with the YOU book
but even the non-severed employees buy into the cult thing and significantly more than the severed employees at that
because they're high up in the corporate culture, getting paid obscene amounts, and being given control of projects that matter.
the goal of severance is to get that level of devotion/commitment, for nothing.
Weakness status: still in veins
But anon, the cult is the whole point. An innie is an attempt at creating a full formed cult member. >tfw attractive asian woman will never tell me I'm skilled at kissing and lovemaking
I can't go on
shame about the cliffhanger ending, i feel like they will extend it for more seasons than needed
>AppleTV
Damn if only it was on either
Netflix,
Amazon Prime
or
HBO Max
I'd watch it.
pirate it, dumbass
>wastes all that money of 3 streaming services
>I can't pay for AppleTV, that's just too much
>paying for media
What are you gay? Pirate everything like a normal person.
There's a thread every other day. I liked it as well but they wrote themselves into a corner. I don't know what they'll do in Season 2. It's certified applekino though

Fuck off, shill.
Fuck outies. Kill slaveowners.
>”Uhhh Chrissy Walkin, do me hard big boy, do me from behind like I’m a peasant whore”
I turned it off right there. I get the moustachioed boot licker is ex-Navy but that was too much
His dad is ex-navy, not him
When he has sex he’s imagining he’s his dad.
i will not fold it looks fucking gay and pretentious
I hope they don't fuck it all up by going on for too long. Show should end with season 2.
If it was a real book I would read it (ironically)
I thought this guy was so damn annoying and almost comically out of place on the show but by the end of S1... I want to read this book.
Oh not the Break Room!
What the fuck was the Waffle Party?
Watch the series again and the symbolism will make more sense
I didn't articulate that very well, I get the symbolism with Kier and the Tempers, but the implication seemed to be that they would spend the night there. Wouldn't that be really fucking disorienting for the outie when they lose a whole day?
Symbology?
I'm something of a symbologist myself.
an orgy.
they'd probably auto-pilot him back to the elevator and back out and he'd have no clue why he was so spent on the outside.
>popular tv show that had non stop threads for months
>"why didn't anybody tell me???"
these threads are so stupid
Bros, season 2 is cancelled because our director is going to be vaporized
the show would most likely benefit from a different director. stiller has always been way up his own asshole.
i watched the whole thing because of she
