Why shouldn't I buy this? There is literally no Windows laptop which can compete with this.

Because I'm wondering what the competition is. XPS, Latitude and even Thinkpad max out at 36gb ram on 14". This can even get 128GB ram

        >This can even get 128GB ram

Just because you can doesn't mean that you should. Only an absolute fucking moron would spend 5k on a laptop.

Because Apple hardware is dollar store quality. Watch any Louis Rossman videos where he explains in depth why they're a huge rip off.

Why the fuck do you need that much RAM? I'd be more concerned with storage.
    >b-but it's portable!
Yeah, and so is an actually decent PC with a UPS when you remote access it with just about any laptop. You could spend that much on an all-new setup and get better quality out of it. And if the laptop breaks, big fucking whoop, at least it broke and not the $3000 laptop.

    >she needs to buy a $3000 mac to get access to the ports a $400 computer comes with
anon what exactly do you plan to do with that machine to make use of all that power? you cant game on it. you cant run most analytic, server or I/O software on it. you also cant repair it, cant upgrade it and cant install a real OS

imagine buying a laptop for 3K without a very good mobile gpu for current games...

newsflash!! other laptops have also crazy fast CPUs for such a high price (real CPUs, not cucked ARM) and a ton of RAM on board, some let you put even more inside if you want to open it

so have fun with some hand selected games for your M3, but remember, only 512GB so you wont be able to install more than 5-7 games on your machine hahaha

ha. I was just in your shoes anon. I purchased it (actually slightly more ram, but it was the M1 Max). I ended up returning it, it's a complete waste of money.

You will never utilize a sizable percentage of the CPU / GPU – it's just not feasible – unless you're editing 4K videos, simulating a production env, etc.

Work gives me an M1 Max 64 Gig for free, so I just purchased a dumpy 13" 2017 MBP for $250. Never signed into iCloud, and just enjoying the machine

It does everything I need 🙂

Why do Apple products make LULZ seethe so much?

I will be using it as a dev machine running JVMs, lots of intellij, dbs, dockers etc

I'm not a gamer I want to work without lag or slow build times.
