Bulgars were also invaders from the overall region but they're slavic now. Poles and croats have a traditiom of being iranic nomad invader too (but it's probanbly pure larp).

Slavic country is belarus and the neighboring parts of Russia and Ukraine. they're newcomers to everywhere else, including parts of those two countries were turkics, iranics (ukraine) and finnics (russia) were more present in not so ancient times.

You guys are pretty moronic. In the cases of both Hungary and Bulgaria, a small minority of Asiatic invaders imposed their political rule on the native Slavs. In one case, the invading minority successfully spread their language onto the local people (Hungary) in the other case the local Slavic language prevailed (Bulgaria). Genetically both countries are heavily Slavic. However, 19th century nationalism was moronic, so purely based on language Bulgars consider themselves hardcore Slavs and Hungarians LARP as Mongols.

The Bulgars adopted Slavonic when they were christianized. They also intermingled with they Slavs whom arrived in the area around the same time they did

Steppe peoples invaded Europe countless times. It still begs the question why Hungarian took hold and was never displaced by Slavic. Same holds for Romanian. The Romans were in many Balkan countries, but Latin only took hold in Romania.

Romania and dalmatia. Also the whole ex-yugoslav + bulgaria area spoke latin and probably a derive romance language (or languages) it just disappeared when the slavs arrived. Justinian was from there and a native latin speaker.

Most South Slavs wrapped around the Carpathians from the west.

    >Romania
Different language, genetically slightly atypical for Slavs.
    >Hungary
Insane language, etnically just gypsies who got Slovenized.

Being a Slav is mostly a question of linguistics. Take that away and the identity crumbles. Or, alternatively, infuse a territory with multiple languages, and the identities fracture.

      >Insane language
Completely subjective, if most of Eastern Europe was speaking a language related to Hungarian, and for example only Poland was speaking Slavic, people would call Polish "that insane language" and Hungarian would be totally commonplace
      >etnically just gypsies who got Slovenized.
      What ethnicity are you, israelite?

Not sure, I must have hurt you somehow. To the point where you'd make up a phrase "crushing your ethnicity" which I've never heard before hahah

It doesn't matter what Russia takes, it will be still a poor shithole. I bet if you took Japan you would turn it into Africa in like a decade.

    Nobody knows for sure
The strongest theory is that when Slavs invaded what is now Yugoslavia, the Romance speaking Sheppers were unaffected and became transhumance nomads travelling from the Carpathian mountains in Romania to the mountains of Northern Greece and Macedonia every year

What is now Romania was devastated by many invasions from the steppes, so the shepphers were able to take control of that land and impose their language on the mostly Slavic masses

There are still romanian speakers that live in Greece and Macedonia, they are called Aromanians.

This is an Aromanian speaker from Southern Albania

One of the biggest cities of the Balkans before the 1800s was Moscopole, which was an Aromanian city in what is now Albania, it was razed to the ground by Ali Pasha

In the Balkans after the Slavic migration, Romance speakers survived in merchant cities of the coast , with their languages disappearing in only the last 500 years (the Dalmatian language of the Republic of Raguso), and in the shepperd communities of the mountains, with their language greatly expanding even beyond the territory of the Roman Empire, such as Moldova.

A Russian is genetically closer to an Anglo than he is to a Romanian. Modern Romanians are a foreign element in Europe.
