Female adultery can ruin your entire life by making you raise another man's children, so it ought to be harshly punished
Male adultery is kinda irrelevant tho, as no woman will be tricked into unknowingly raising another woman's kid if her husband cheats

If a woman hasn't been spreading her legs for other men then she should have nothing to be afraid of when her child gets it's paternity verified at birth. Obviously if the child has a father other than the husband then the wife gets no alimony or child support and the husband gets a no fault divorce automatically.

Many hunter gatherer societies raise children communally and it's likely that prehistoric people did as well. Why wouldn't they, when their tribe is like their family and everyone looks out for each other?

Generally, the more positive adult role models a child can learn from, the more well-rounded and prepared for adulthood that child will be. Have you never heard the phrase "It takes a village to raise a child"? It's awfully closeminded to think that just because it differs from your own notions of how children "should" be raised that it is necessarily a bad thing.

Men who don't have a biological connection to children aren't meant to take care of them. That's why child abuse rates are so much higher in blended families. That's why when a new male takes over a harem (monogamy is a fairly recent phenomenon in our history as a species), he usually kills the previous one's offspring. But if you're the type that's oblivious to this then there is no point trying to convince you. You are practically a religious devotee to a pseudo scientific dinosaur of an ideology.

adultery should be illegal, but honor killing an unfaithful spouse should probably still be illegal, since the state needs a monopoly on violence

it should be illegal for the man as well because it can still lead to the breakup of the family and is a violation of a marriage

It's akin to fraud and rape. To raise another's man child, to buy a house on false pretenses, to marry a secretely unfaithful, to invest in a family that treats you like a living ATM can have life-ruining results that the law refuses supply the victims of such crimes with justice.

Furthermore, to sleep with someone while exposing them to aids, at worst, and humiliation, at best, is akin to rape by fraud and should be treated as such in the eyes of the law.

He mentions that she had given him 0 reasons to complain during their 33 years of marriage and that he genuinely loves his stepdaughters. How do you even begin to take revenge on her? I genuinely can't come up with any form of torture that comes close to the same level of suffering. Even killing the bastard daughters in front of her and burning her body with acid and killing her arms and legs with tourniquets and making her live with that doesn't bring enough justice. 30+ years of betrayal, 30+ years of living a lie. His entire life erased at the hands of the person he was supposed to be able to fully trust. His life is gone, at 50 there's no time anymore to start life from scratch. No time to miraculously heal and make a true family with someone. He lost everything at no fault of his own. I cannot come up with any deed that would repay this amount of betrayal in full. Traitors of any kind and especially adulterers really do deserve fates much worse than death, and an eternal afterlife full of the most gruesome torture.

          Anonymous

The key lies in not burning her body with acid but slowly slowly pumping it straight down her throat and up her sensitive regions via a feeding tube and enema (and/or turkey baster) respectively. The destruction of a man's life and self-worth deserves no less a form of punishment.

    >The combination of a salacious adultery story; a murder in front of eyewitnesses; and a circus-like trial is a recipe for an exciting tale. This is indeed true of the 1916 Rossi murder that is the subject of Ron Roizen’s book, The Rossi Murder: And the Unwritten Law in 1916’s Wallace, Idaho (2021). Herman J. Rossi was a Wallace, Idaho, community leader, serving at various times as the mayor of Wallace and as a member of the Idaho legislature.

    >In late June 1916, Rossi returned from a political trip to the state capitol to find his wife had spent three days—much of it in bed—with a local musician and alleged bootlegger, Clarence Dahlquist. Rossi pulled his wife from her bed; slapped her; tore off her nightgown and threatened to throw her naked into the street. Next, he went to the kitchen and drank two cups of black coffee and then walked down the street to the Samuels Hotel lobby where he confronted Dahlquist and shot him. Dahlquist died the next morning.

    >Ron Roizen, a trained sociologist who has long studied and written about topics related to alcohol, recounts each day of Rossi’s murder trial. The high-profile prosecution attracted standing-room-only crowds to the Shoshone County courthouse and was reported in newspapers across the region. Rossi’s defense attorney John P. Gray argued that his client went temporarily insane after discovering his wife’s infidelity. Headlines such as “Fight Made to Rescue Wife from Liquor Habit” (p. 14) highlight the role that Mabel’s drinking played during the trial and in the wider court of public opinion. Rossi testified, for example, “My wife’s drinking kept me from being as prominent as I wanted to be in public affairs. Because of her vice or disease I kept out of public life to a great extent”

  16. 1 year ago
    Dirk

    >Rossi’s defense also centered around him as a victim due to his wife’s infidelity—a situation that for many warranted Rossi’s actions. This was the so-called “unwritten law.” He testified, “I realized the drinking woman was more likely to become immoral than other women. I have had that fear over me always” (p. 170).

    >While there was no doubt that Herman Rossi had shot and killed Clarence Dahlquist, the jury deliberated less than 20 minutes and found him not guilty by virtue of temporary insanity.

    >According to author Roizen, “Alcohol, in a word, was 1916’s heroin” (p. 267). Herman Rossi’s ten-year effort to save his wife from alcohol and his status as a cuckhold were enough to sway the jury. According to Roizen, these elements carried more weight with the 12-man panel than the expert witness testimony that both the prosecution and the defense presented.

tl;dr politician comes home, finds out wife cheated with the saloon pianist, shoots him, found not guilty due to temporary insanity

I believe if your wife cheats on you and has the baby of another man and its a girl. You have the right to impregnate the girl and claim her as your wife.

In New York, an adulterer killed the husband of the wife he was fricking, and ended up making one of the very first successful insanity defenses.

I mean most people who kill their wife/husband while caught cheating usually get off with an "act of passion"

You don't "get off" with that, you might get a diminished charge like second degree murder instead of first.

Women generally prefer monogamy but will occasionally cheat with an alpha male when they're ovulating. Men would prefer to have sex with as many women as humanly possible, but most of us aren't Chad enough for that so are forced to be monogamous.

Why should a man be punished for satisfying your wife because you couldn't?
    It's your fault, not his
You could have at least made up for it or prevented your wife from coming in contact with these men
It's a competition and you lost, killing someone for fricking your wife is being a sore loser

pro-tip: when that marriage inevitably fails, you can be her plan B man that she goes to. The vast majority of relationships fail and then women usually have a rebound man. This is not your problem or fault and you can capitalize on it

Sword duelling should be legal for settling disputes related to matters of fidelity. Death sentence is too one sided. Not to mention you should already have your woman in control.
