>stop right clicking. it’s stealing.
Lots of websites actually use JavaScript to disable right click on their images. So what I do is I use the element inspector in Firefox to find the img tag and open the source link manually.
this doesn't work for websites like instagram that use css instead of javascript to block image stealing. picrel is an example of the wrapper div around an <img> tag on instagram - all the padding on the bottom covers the image, so that when you try to right click the DOM thinks you're targeting a <div> instead, and doesn't give you the option to save-as. you can still inspect element to get these though

I just use the allow right click addon for sites like instagram
The gains are marginal compared with jpg. We are talking about 3% size from optimized jpg to optimized webpiss. Nothing that justifies implementing a whole new file format.

Probably not that marginal, but regardless, this post is coming from a person who doesn't run a media business. The idea is to minimize bandwidth consumption and this achieves it. Most browsers support it (except it is a pain in the ass to bring it 1:1 to jpg on old programs)
Because google blackmails people into using their useless image format.
I am not making this shit up. Google announced last year that "having modern formats" helps to improve your SEO. So, if you don't want to be on the third page, YOU NEED TO USE WEBPISS.
Call me a israelite I don't care, I have seen lots of webp images with the same quality of a png with a much reduced filesize, same for static/animated gifs
For me it's a win-win, we have an open Soros image format that can handle pretty much every type of image
>right click save >file says .webp
change it to .jpg if it's a photo, or .png if it's a graphic >90% of the time it Just Werks
am I moronic or are the web devs?
>save pic from site to webp >edit said pic >try to upload the edited pic back to site >sorry we only accept jpg or png format
Hope you Black folk get raped by russians
Are there even any notable image editors at this point that can't handle webp? It ain't exactly a mystery file type at this point. The same program that'll handle your PNGS will almost certainly handle your WebPs.
>rmb >copy image >open gimp >paste >export as jpg/png >upload image on 4chns
Hate that I actually have to do this now, but it gets the job done. Probably could a write a script to do it faster for me and with a lighter tool than gimp, maybe I'll try tomorrow.
neither the cli encoder nor ffmpeg have an option to change the dispose mode of animated frames, other than that it's great as a gif replacement for animated images with true transparency
stop right clicking. it’s stealing. buy the nft
also do not adblock.
the antichrist wants you to stop using adblock. I HATE THE ANTICHRIST
Nice joke. Where did you get that? Reddit?
No, actually I got it from SomethingAwful.

Firefox can bypass click highjacks if you hold shift.

Because it is objectively a better format than the traditional ones.
explain
it has better compression
pretty sure it's the cdn troony posting it on every day
I'm sorry, what?
Image compression is a process applied to a graphics file to minimize its size in bytes without degrading image quality below an acceptable threshold.

google said use webp or get demoted in search results
why do we have this thread three times a day
is this gonna make the spit strings in 4k taylor swift headshots more visible or not
what??
You WILL NOT download the image
Because google blackmails people into using their useless image format.

jewgle. There are browser extensions that force images to save as normal file types

The question is why everything isn't this.
How can I read .webp doujin pages in a folder without having to open one at a time? I made a script to transform them to png. Is there a webp reader?
>right click save
>file says .webp
change it to .jpg if it's a photo, or .png if it's a graphic
>90% of the time it Just Werks

i works every time, but muh web v3
how do you know it just werks?
because I can use the images later in applications as png or jpg formats
that doesn't mean anything. can you upload it to IQfy?
the web devs were smart to write a syntax that you understood without being told
>save pic from site to webp
>edit said pic
>try to upload the edited pic back to site
>sorry we only accept jpg or png format
Hope you Black folk get raped by russians

Even paint can handle it
what does a free, open format have to do with not owning things
Because is better than jpg
That's a png dummy
> search for a picture to upload on 4chns
> webp
> keep searching for supported files
> can't find
> give up
> go out to touch grass instead.
the botnet wants you to touch grass
>rmb
>copy image
>open gimp
>paste
>export as jpg/png
>upload image on 4chns

convert -format jpg pic.webp pic.jpg
moron

webpmux can do it with -frame
neat, thanks
