Why is everyone selling their Mining Rigs?

Do they know something?

yes they do know something, that electricity prices have gone up like 50% with no end in sight, and it's unprofitable to mine right now unless you live in some shithole like kazachstan
not to mention that mining rigs depreciate faster than new cars, so now you've got a money burning machine that you paid a lot of money for

I've been making posts asking about POW during an energy crisis and nobody was interesting in discussing it. This place is nothing but braindead moonboys.

The network is just as secure with more expensive electricity than it is with less expensive electricity. When electricity is expensive it's a lot harder to get enough hashrate to pull a 51% attack. Unless you're an entity with unlimited electricity I don't see how PoW is less secure.

          >I don't see how PoW is less secure
          I agree.
PoS leads to more centralization, and seems to be the wrong direction for crypto to move in. I do not think that mining will die, due to that sentiment. I think people will soon realize the same.

Ethereum is dying. Imagine giving these scalping pieces of shit one red cent.

Miners are selling over 100% of the btc they currently mine. The minute they get rewarded a block it's immediately dumped for spot. It's why we haven't even a nano-relief rally after each dump, the sell pressure is constant and too high.
    - electricity is getting more expensive by the day
    - fear of new regulations now all the gnomish scams are rugpulling left and right
    - geforce serie 4 getting released in september who will make all the serie 3 obsolete
    - fear of btc falling to 10k and difficulty adjustment lagging behind

I'm surprised they can't make it profitable with ETH still being above $1,000 USD, but at the same time I've been raped by electricity prices myself to where I now sit here and sweat without AC until the free electricity period starts in the evening for me as if I'm someone's dad.

      >geforce serie 4 getting released in september who will make all the serie 3 obsolete
Considering how even shit from the 10 series was sold out during this past bulllrun, the only cards that are obsolete are ones that can't mine quickly enough. GPU shortages will happen again in a few years.

eth 2.0 in october at the very worst
they might be on to something, anon

People said that shit last year, 2.0 is never coming out.

That's what i hate the most with all the garden gnometubers on miners' payroll claiming GPUs are as good as new by running pointless benchmarks
      >see! even after 3 years of mining 24/7 the performances didn't drop by an inch!
knowing full well that's not how it works. Your GPU either is alive or dead. There is no in-between. If it's alive, then the performances will remain the same no matter if it's brand new or 8yo. And if it's dead, then it's over. And it go from alive to dead in a minute.

Ask me how I know you're a n-word. n-word if a GPU dies, you fix it. I have a GT 9800 from 2009 that has died 3 times and I've fixed it each time and it still runs 24/7 running a plex server.

not how it works homosexual miner trying to shill his worthless bags, gpu's semiconductors become more conductive with prolonged wear when you mine nonstop and at some point they just become over conductive and fucking die anyone buying used gpu from a miner is a fucking retard

Big fuckup from them, new series will be blocked from mining and will probably will throw efficiency out the window, because of this 3000 series will moon in price like last year.

New AMD 7000 series looks have 1 or 3 cards that mine efficiently. New NVIDIAs will be power hogs. The real issue is once eth goes POS there's no guarantee another GPU mineable pow coin will take it's place and nothing will be profitable.

I'm sure the billions of dollars in ETHash asics and tech will just vanish to never produce another dollar again.

Eth ASICS are restricted to eth algo projects. The only one that could potentially survive is ETC but with all the hashpower that will hit ETC after ETH goes POS I'm doubtful those miners will keep asics online. They are going to be scrap. GPUs can mine almost any Pow coin that is gpu mineable but again the amount of hashpower trying to find profit will be a big question. I'm building a CPU farm to mine in that space instead and I'll always have xmr to mine as a fallback.

It's happening. Embrace it and find something else to mine instead of this WEF approved piece of shit.

AMD sucks for mining currently Nvidia is king unlike past generations, also i bet someone somewhere will need all that compute power once eth 2.0 comes and we will continue to get profit from mining, albeit not as profitable but still, also i live in a third world shithole where i dont even pay for electricity.

They know it's over. They can no longer turn any profit at these coin prices. And no longer can make much money from mining ETH because the gas is too damn cheap!
