R.E.M., The Feelies, The Ocean Blue and The dBs are basically the only good American jangle bands, and even then, there are at least a dozen British jangle bands better than all of them.

Oversensitive? If anything, what I admire in British music is that so many songs with sad lyrics have happy danceable music (e.g. Heaven knows I'm miserable know) resulting in a more subtle melancholy as opposed to full-blown melodrama (e.g. Everybody Hurts)

They import they're shit all over the world, everyone in the world listens to their music but when another country (literally closest ally in this case) is popular across the world its only liked because people find that country exotic.
