Slave mentality. Britbongs fear the very idea of freedom and have to be ruled by a monarchy.

Both types of governments do. The truth is that Europeans never change. They always desire a paternal nanny-state to rule over them. They were this way during the Roman era, during the medieval period, and today.

        >Britain has a prime minister.
do you know how the post of prime minster works in the UK?
because bringing up the prime minister is in no way a rebuttal of the post.
The prime minister is appointed by the formal head of state ie. the reigning monarch. And by current custom the to be prime minister is proposed to the monarch by the ruling party.
the position is not a directly elected one. And the prime minister can be sent packing by his party at a moments notice simply by them saying they no longer support him and suggesting a new prime minster to the crown.

Yes and this is why OP's notion that Britons have an illusion of being forced to live under a "totalitarian monarchy" is off base.

More interesting question is why the frick are foreigners so obsessed with us?
Japan has an Emperor, Sweden has a King, Norway has a King, Netherlands has a King, etc.
You probably just focus on the UK because you are Monolingual kek

If you're just posting another Anglophobic thread then I hope you have fun with it. If you actually want an answer then removing the monarchy would basically destroy the entire legal and political system in Britain. It's far too complex to actually explain in a IQfy thread - but all of British politics and legislation (even today) is rooted in the monarchy and the church of England (state religion).

Read the history of England and you'll realise the UK was mainly comprised of large manors that were divided into fields with a small village and a church maintaining psychological control over the serfs.
Only when the population became too large to control, quite recently, did they make up democracy and create the illusion that people died for their rights.
Actually both USA, and UK are controlled by their elites who now live off the main land.
