because its barely even worth it to have an exhaust velocity recovery system (turbocharger)

there's been lots of inventions in this space that have failed to pass the test of economy in the long term.

your best source of intake pressure is your pistons and your best recovery of exhaust is to run at a fixed rpm where your exhaust shockwave adds to your compression. Everything else is just trying to extend the envelope of good performance.

is this basically a 2 way supercharger that forces air in the intake and sucks exhaust out the exhaust?

Yes it does exist in some cars, like newer Toyota hybrids example Prius 2011 and newer.

The turbocharger is an exhaust heat recovery system.

Isn't heat needed for the cat to work
Decreasing the exhaust gas temperature would probably increase emissions

I think my car has one because the engine gets warm in less than a minute.

How? Adding a whole steam piston setup like locomotives had to it somehow?

          Yes, you idiot!

A car that was steam from the start is very different than making a gasoline/steam hybrid

No it isn't. Just replace the coolant with water to make steem

An exhaust driven accessory belt would be cool.

Majority of cars do, but the point is to reduce recycled exhaust's temperature. And as a bonus allow the engine to heat up faster and give the cabin heat faster

It exists in formula 1 but the announced death of the ICE cooled any desire to spend billions on adapting the technology to road cars.
