In the UK driving test you'd probably get a fault for stopping at a stop sign when you have early visibility of both sides and it's safe to go as you roll up.
Stop signs give you the pause that means someone can drive out of a blind spot or behind something.
Dude just yesterday rolled a stop sign and it could have been a collison if I didn't see what was happening.
Four way stop, dude arrives, I arrive. He cross, I'm about to go, but the homosexual turing right wanted to roll it, well guess who he didn't see. THat's right, me
>Why does America insist on 4 way stops? Most of them seem like low traffic areas that could easily be 2 way stops or could just have a roundabout
Roundabouts are fucking dangerous. They kill more people each year, than school shootings in the past decade, you fucking midwit piece of shit.
If the area is low traffic, why not remove two of the stop signs and have one road as a through road? Seems like that would be better and would remove the stupid "wait your turn" system
Because people will hold up five miles worth of traffic in both directions until they are able to make their left turn into traffic even in a low traffic zone.
Have you ever, in the history of ever, seen someone actually do what a yield sign demands you do?
90% of the time they assume it means 'slow down slightly but don't actually stop if it's necessary to not interfere with the person you're yielding to'.
Lemme get controversial here:
Fully-stopping for stop signs if no one else is there burns off a ridiculous amount of fuel for no reason.
If no one's there and you have clear sight in every direction, then rolling through at the bottom of second gear is saving the planet.
Ever since she said 'how dare you!', I've done by best to help the environment. I've converted to a steam engine powered car, since gasoline is so bad for the environment.
I live on the corner next to the 3 way intersection and we asked for stop signs specifically because you can't see shit trying to turn onto the through road. with the houses on the corner and all the cars parked along the corner and side of the road, you have to creep into potentially oncoming traffic just to see if it's clear. it's been a few months now and it still feels like a coin flip if some nagger is gonna t-bone me doing 40-50mph through the neighborhood every time I pull out
>I live on the corner next to the 3 way intersection and we asked for stop signs specifically because you can't see shit trying to turn onto the through road.
Well that's a different story, and why I specified clear visibility. Many 4-way stops in the rural US have clear sight for a long way and it's kinda bullshit.
If you can't see, the stop is valid. I'll still roll at the bottom of 1st gear if I get there and there's nobody, but it's basically a stop.
It doesn't matter (I am that anon btw). If you can see then you're good to go. If you can't see (even if it's your own car blocking you) then you should stop. You're a human, you can move your body and should be scanning the road at all times anyway.
I'm not saying "blast through there, bro." I'm just saying a 2-10 mph roll is perfectly acceptable in many stop signs, esp in rural areas like where I am.
You're speaking common sense, which most people lack if the number of cyclists that have been hit on that intersection is any indication.
I know, cyclists, but still
>why does X make shitty drives Y
the world may never know
It's like in Japan where they hate white people for jaywalking in an empty road. It ain't hurting anyone to roll a stop sign if you have eyes.
The problem is that most of these morons just sit at the stop sign looking at it even though it’s their turn to go.
They're waiting for it to turn green.

Especially the ones with multiple lanes.
Ban assault circles
Big if true
in low traffic areas, 4 stop signs are far cheaper than a roundabout and makes no real difference in traffic.
If the area is low traffic, why not remove two of the stop signs and have one road as a through road? Seems like that would be better and would remove the stupid "wait your turn" system

Sounds like America has bigger problems then traffic
maybe it does, worry about your own country.
I am
If it's low traffic people will just skip the stop signs anyway.
If people skip the stop signs then why have them? Wouldn't a give way sign be fine 90% of the time?
Have you ever, in the history of ever, seen someone actually do what a yield sign demands you do?

They work fine in Australia
Everyone knows stop signs should be treated as give-way signs, and give-way signs should be ignored.
what sign?
>t.cyclists
Subaru drivers are so confident that their lesbian car would protect them even at the cost of their own lives that they need not fear.
Allways stop
FUCK ROUNDABOUTS.
>neighbors got together to bitch at the city and finally get some stop signs in our neighborhood
>everyone just fucking runs it
>stop signs in your neighborhood
Do you have a spud bar?
You can disable them fairly easily, though it is a bit loud.

To be fair, if no one's there, you can just roll through at 100 mph.
You're a real hero. Greta would be proud.
Ever since she said 'how dare you!', I've done by best to help the environment. I've converted to a steam engine powered car, since gasoline is so bad for the environment.

Not necessarily. If the road is angled just right then traffic can be hidden by your A pillar
